Pros: Patty the manager of the restaurant is really nice. She would just take care of everything for you. Would definitely recommend this place.. it's a eco friendly place so please dont expect something like phones in rooms, but still things like showers with Shells would surprise you here. Go for it, food is good too, if you are a vegetarian they will make it up for you. Do try the Chefs Vegetable Coconut curry.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: I liked the manager, Mrs. Pat, because she was personally interested for everything, she asked, she supervised, she gave instructions, she was everywhere. She was friendly and cheerful to all the customers Also, the yoga teacher was a wonderful person, she was very kind and friendly to everyone. The atmosphere and the view, the sunset and the beach were great, it was very relaxing The food was great
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Very nice place, great beach, the tents are amazing
Cons: The industrial windmills on both sides
9.0 Excellent
Pros: Lovely location right on the beach. The pool had been renovated since our last stay; a perfect place to enjoy the sunset over the ocean. We really like the quiet, lush, beach, tent-sand atmosphere; accommodations are better than many hotels we have stayed in. We had an issue with our bathroom sink which was attended to as soon as we told management, otherwise, everything was very comfortable and cosey. Pat is an excellent hostess; she and her staff were on top of everything. Icing on the cake - we saw hundreds of spinner dolphins and three sperm whales! Highly recommended.
9.0 Excellent
Pros: Love the tented accommodation Great pool Dolphin safari went well and felt like it was properly organised Friendly manager and staff
Cons: Coffee! Larger bar
9.0 Excellent
Pros: location and very nice beach
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Very helpful staff. We checked in at 3am the previous night instead of afternoon and they welcomed as warmly. Not only that they didn’t even charge extra for it. Secluded beach with absolute privacy.
Cons: The food was average. Could be better. Options could be more.

9.0 Excellent
Pros: Clean beach, beautiful pool and cabanas and the Villa was spacious. Shaine, one of the young staff, was very helpful and tried his hardest to make us feel welcome. He was very attentive and helped to rectify some of the mistakes of other staff. Free use of the kayaks and stand up paddle board was awesome. So much fun.
Cons: Slow service on meals, orders getting mixed up, having to ask 3 times if you needed something. Rooms didn't have a bar fridge.
7.5 Good
Pros: The property is close to the beach. The beach is very clean. Not many guests so that we had the property pretty much for ourselves.
Cons: The staff was friendly but not always professional. Kitchen quality different from dinner to dinner. No hot water tap.
7.0 Good
Pros: The practically private beach is nice and so is the general seclusion. If you are a couple or young family looking for some solitude, it's wonderful. The safari at the local national park was a highlight, the guide from Bar Reef who came with us is very knowledgeable and made the whole trip a great experience (we saw the leopard twice, loads of monkeys and general wildlife and even an elephant!) The general manager was also really helpful (forgot his name).
Cons: The food service at Bar Reef is pretty terrible, on average you wait for over an hour for anything you order! At one point we asked for some towels for the pool and ended up getting them ourselves after waiting 30 mins! We took the advice from some other veteran residents at Bar Reef and ate at the 2 other resorts next door. Udekke for lunch and the closer one for the evening meal next door where the food is cheaper better and more local. It's also a fair ride to the airport or Colombo, 2-3 hrs on average.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: What a gem ! This is a truly beautiful place. We stayed in a beach cabana, which was very spacious with verandah and open air bathroom. The infinity pool is fabulous, as is the beach. Food is cooked to order and delicious. Staff were good, a young waiter called Shain was particularly helpful and attentive. Spotted lots of dolphins on our boat tour. Other trips can be arranged by the team. Highly recommended.
Cons: It would be nice to have more fresh fish on the menu.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Wonderfully relaxing place with friendly and helpful staff. Fabulous fresh seafood dinners on the beach or by the infinity pool.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: During our stay here I celebrated my birthday. My partner mentioned this to one of the staff and they went out of their way to make sure I had a great day - they organised a candle lit dinner on the beach and the chef made a cake, it was spectacular. The pool was the best pool I've experienced in Sri Lanka. Food was outstanding. Totally plastic free.
Cons: Service was slightly slow, but when food is being prepared fresh it's to be expected.
7.0 Good
Pros: the location quiet
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Honest and simple, yet with style. A little rough, but very honest with its way of being eco and build on the beach without damaging anything.
Cons: Some facilities could be refurbished and maintained better. Bar/Restaurant area should be more functional and staffed
De Silva Palm Resort - Kalpitiya - Bedroom

Overview Reviews

Featured amenities include dry cleaning/laundry services, a 24-hour front desk, and luggage storage. A roundtrip airport shuttle is provided for a surcharge (available 24 hours), and free self parking is available onsite.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Da Silva Palmresort is situated around 200m from Da Silva Windresort (the place the boat for kiting leaves and place where you get your meals, drinks from bar, etc..). Rooms have AC (much needed in the humid hot weather), beautiful pool to relax at. Super friendly staff, will definitely recommend this place. For kite boarders: Da Silva Windresort is situated directly at the lagoon. There is a boat couple of times per day which takes you to the other side of lagoon (the place you launch).
Cons: WiFi works only at the reception area. In case you don't do kite boarding, there is not much to do around other than relaxing at the beautiful pool.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: We were windsurfing so it was great to be able to launch from the beach rather than get a boat over to a launch point. The pool was nice
Cons: The full board food was ok but I'd recommend going ala carte, it's no more expensive and probably actually cheaper. Lots of seaweed in the lagoon, lots....
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Patient wind surfing instructor
Cons: Bit of weed in the water
4.6 Okay
Pros: the buffet was good, the swimming pool was nice probably a good spot if you want only to Kite and stay in the hotel
Cons: our check in was not really welcoming, for some reason the person in charge of our check in seemed not really happy that we brought our child. She was not welcoming either to our driver and did not try anything to support him in finding an accommodation. This place should honestly not called itself a ressort, you have to walk to another hotel to fill your water bottle, or get breakfast, lunch or dinner, there is a nice swimming pool but forget about ordering anything, there is no bar there. Eventually you could walk to the next resort to order a drink but unluckily for us the bar was closed during our stay. the room are quite small, and dark. The bathroom smelled like sewers. On top of that the wall are super thin and we were unlucky to hear babies cry for the 2 nights of our early terminated stay. clearly the less welcoming and price/value place we had during our Sri lankan trip
9.6 Excellent
Pros: A lovely quiet location with well kept gardens and great pool to relax in at the end of a kiting day. Staff were always friendly and very helpful, nothing was too much for them. Loved the fresh coconuts straight off the tree.
Cons: Organising of some of the excursions and boat trips to the islands need to be more centrally organised as to not cause confusion with regards to payments.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Very friendly atmosphere, delicious cuisine!
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Lovely people!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The place was clean and staff was very friendly.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Close to the kite spot, nice staff, clean, good WiFi
Cons: Food and bar service restricted. The quality is fine but the timings were not flexible. Could do with a more lively set up for evening or times where u want to hang around

8.3 Excellent
Pros: Empty beach Nice small resort
Cons: No mosquito net Expensive rooms
7.1 Good
Pros: The rooms are big. very nice and amazing view from the balcony. There is s little fridge so you can cool your drinks. The common area is small but cozy and i loved the hammocks and seatong area around. The pool will make it perfect. The food is delicious and the hotel guy is wonderful and kind and do anything to make you feel confortable and happy
Cons: The hotel guy had too much to do. Not possible to take care of the complete hotel, buy all groceries fresh to ever meal in town, clean and entertain. My room did not get cleaned one singel time during my 4 nights stay. Not his fault it was just too much to do for 1 person
7.5 Good
Pros: Beach front hotel. Delicious food, specially seafood.
Cons: Hotel cleaness
9.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything was very good. Big spacious rooms and balconies with gorgeous sea views, big bathrooms with hot water and good shower pressure. A very nice pool right in front of the beach. The staff and management are great and the location is excellent, right on the beach! Pool/beach towels provided. No mosquito net but no mosquitoes in the room. Very quiet and on another day without the other noisy guests, it would be perfect
Cons: The price was a little high in my opinion Unfortunately had some very noisy Russian guests, quite drunk and playing loud disco pop in their room and balcony. I complained to the management and they moved me to a quiet room at the opposite end. They also got them to turn the music down. This is zero fault of the hotel and just my bad luck that I happened to turn up and spoil their party. These days for exactly situations like this I tend to book only one night and extend if all is okay. In this case, even though I really liked the hotel I decided I didn't want to be with the other guests so I moved out to spend my 2 remaining nights in Kliptiya at another hotel. Shame for the hotel and me
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Excellent service, great breakfast, one of the best places in Sri Lanka
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Great stuff. Nice place. Excellent food.
