Unique and historic
I really liked the location. I thought it was extremely clean and high quality!
The rooms were very small. It was fairly pricey!
Great location but terrible experience.
The room itself was very small and had a very small hallway right as you enter the room. This made getting luggage into the room difficult. The bathroom was the size of a closet and poorly laid out as well. The parking cost $12 per day or more if you happen to come back to your room during the day. The MOST FRUSTRATING moment was when we went down to eat at the overpriced breakfast buffet. I ordered the buffet and my wife was just going to eat an apple and protein bar that she had. HOWEVER when I was at the buffet the waiter came over to my wife and told her she had to leave the 'restaurant' and eat her own food out in the lobby (which there is no tables or chairs in the lobby to eat at). When I got back from the buffet my wife was packing up her things and leaving and told me that she was kicked out for bringing 'her own food' into the restaurant. This was extremely frustrating and really gives a great idea of how poorly managed this entire place is. If you are alone, want a cheap place, don't care about room sizes or cleanliness then feel free to stay here.
Clean, great staff, close to dining, shopping, and entertainment.
even after adjusting the room temp it was still very cold.
It was OK
The updates to the hotel made it look very modern and clean. The lobby and the rooms had a number of cosmetic improvements that made it appealing. The staff was very helpful in finding the easiest route to get around downtown.
The room layout was very cramped. the space was not well designed in the remodel the were describing. Also, the walls in the redo were not sound-proofed. We could hear everyone in the halls and all of the neighboring rooms in addition to the alley below us. It made it really hard to sleep when It sounded like people were talking in the room
Okay for a one night getaway.
The staff was wonderful! The room was modern and had a nice view of the city. The room was small and not extremely relaxing though. The hallway was noisy and there is almost no noise insulation from one room to the next. I didn't feel the luxury for the price of the room. The location is outstanding for having fun downtown Kansas City though, we could walk everywhere we wanted to be! Overall I enjoyed my one night getaway stay at this hotel, it was just that, a bed to crash in when we were done having fun on the town.
