Pros: Staff were lovely.
Cons: Turned up to find the while hotel covered in scaffolding.. would have been nice to be pre warned. Booked dinner and they had no recollection of my reservation and then proceeded to seat us in a deathly silent restarunt with zero ambience could hear every tables conversation.

Pros: It was our wedding with a very small party. The hotel completed all our requests perfectly. There was a small surprise of a bottle of cava and some tablet left in our room. This was a lovely touch. Breakfast was very nice. Location and parking are excellent
Cons: The hotel is under renovation so there is a lot of scaffolding around the building. The hotel is very clear about this on their website. Unfortunately timing is everything.

6.0 Good
Pros: In general the staff were helpful. We had lunch and breakfast and both meals were very good.
Cons: We knew of renovations but we requested a twin room and got a double, big wet patch on ceiling and wallpaper hanging off, draughty window. Drink service on Saturday night was very slow. It was a windy night but main entrance was quite dangerous.
8.5 Excellent
Pros: I stayed at this hotel because I was playing Royal Troon the next day. From my room I could the 18th of Troon and the sea behind it. The hotel is easy to find, check in was easy, wi-fi was dead simple and worked well and the room was tidy. The bar downstairs was more than adequate and sitting out on the porch looking at the sea was very pleasant. When I'm in Troon again, I will likely stay here.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: The staff were first class, enjoyed the pool and leisure facilities, breakfast was excellent
Cons: We knew about the refurbishment before arriving and understand the need to renovate so I refuse to mark the hotel down for this. The hotel is a little tired and I would imagine once finished the restoration will breathe new life into it.

Pros: The building and the surrounding.
Cons: The rooms are poorly maintained. Most of the room are not in the old more beautiful part of the building which is shown in the photographs. I saw any people complain of their rooms during my stay there. The bath panel in my room was broken and some of the electrical switches were open in the room. This place is not worth any price and the hotel must be inspected by HNS.
6.0 Good
Pros: The location and setting was nice . A bit far out of the way but that was okay .
Cons: The rooms could do with getting updated . Our room was not very clean sweetie wrapping and socks under the bed . Soap dish still had soap scum on it and hairs in the drawers . Food was not great but then we paid £10 for a 3 course meal so can’t really complain. Staff could do with being a bit more friendly and smile occasionally felt in dining room that they did not want you to be there. And when you spoke to them they did not answer back very rude . Don’t think we would stay again

Pros: Great food , breaky and dinner.
4.0 Okay
Pros: We were allocated to the Mews because we travelled with a dog which we informed them at time of booking. We had explained we would like parking and this was answered in our question through booking.com but they ignored our request about travelling with a small dog. We then had to phone to get that answered and were told we would be allocated to the mews and pay a bit extra for the dog.
Cons: We were then charged £ 105 per night and £15 per night for the dog. I had booked on booking.com for £95 per night. So expecting to pay in total £190 with a possible £10/15 for the dog but charged £240 instead. This was not explained at time of checking out. Very disappointed.

Pros: Everything was just perfect. Very clean and extremely well kept even lovely Fresh flowers in social areas and in room. Food was outstanding and every staff member worked hard totally professional and also friendly especially Nicholas.
Cons: Not one thing
6.0 Good
Pros: The hotel in general is fantastic. The restaurant is lovely, breakfast was excellent , check in and out efficient
Cons: Food did not match 3 rosette standard. My wife specified no fish or mushrooms when asked for dietary requirements. Yet we still received canapés with fish incorporated in them which was then taken away. Scallops overcooked, seabass very small portion looked like half a fillet also overcooked, octupus and orzo combination over reduced chopped stew which overpowered the fish, tart tatin stodgy caramel very dark, bitter served with a tuille the dessert looked and tasted as if it was reheated not freshly cooked. My wife's steak had mushroom duxelle on the side surely after been told earlier this would have been picked up. Service at the beginning was to the standard you would expect but as the evening went on senior members of the team seem to disappear, for instance when it came to the main course a tall young man brought my wife's main course then went back to get mine??? When the main course was cleared a young girl this time cleared I had at least half my plate left no conversation took place did you enjoy or was everything ok. We poured our second lot of wine ourselves and were not the only ones. I pointed some of this out to a young man in a chequered type suit later on when I went to the bar for a drink to which I can only presume he never handed this information over to his colleagues within the management team. the main reason I did not highlight this on departure was to avoid causing a scene in front of my wife, this was a treat for her birthday.

Pros: Restaurant My bed 'The Peace Cleaning Person Gillian was a gem. Aileen in the Restaurant another Gem also Christine who I talked to before arriving was fantastic too. I felt welcomed and being in the Hotel for a wedding I just felt I belonged as if it was my home but I so so so appreciated being cared about. Thank you so very much
Cons: Oh well noise in the bar when talking the banging of dishes and noisy children of Mother's was particularly annoying. I suppose kids in a bar seemed annoying to me.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything. Reception staff (including the beautiful collie dog), bar staff on the evening and the breakfast host were great...friendly, professional and helpful. Dinner on the evening and breakfast on the morning was superb. WiFi connectivity was brilliant. Bedroom spacious and comfy with lovely hot shower. Plenty of nice facilities, iron, ironing board, tea & biscuits, TV. I found the £64 B&B price to be excellent value for money and will definitely recommend to my colleagues and return myself when next on business in the area.
Cons: Nothing.
