Pros: Our Room was spacious and comfortable. We were there for a wedding so in fact occupied three rooms. Our visitors from New Zealand had a really lovely room airy room with double windows overlooking the front .Our son who originally was going to bring his young baby was installed in a quieter room which was also lovely.Baby ended up not coming but the thought was there. Breakfast was excellent as was the evening meal . Staff were welcoming and allowed early check in for all party members to change and get ready for the wedding There were fans provided in the rooms as the weather had been quite humid.
Cons: No fried bread on the breakfast on the second morning. Probably healthier for us lol but we had been tempted by the pieces the previous day!

8.3 Excellent
Pros: Warm welcome, large room, comfy bed. Modern, stylish bathroom. Out of Eden toiletries in refillable dispensers, Dressing gowns Fresh milk in fridge, in refillable bottle Tasty steak and ale pie. And blackberry and Apple crumble.
Cons: it would be even better if... Sash window on bedroom was on a pulley. Either had to have it open quite wide or closed , which wasn’t ideal at might. A small amount of French bread or similar with stater (goats cheese / mushrooms) would have been good. Felt like they were missing carbs!

Pros: Lovely location. The room was clean and comfortable. It was great to have a bath as well as a separate shower. We particularly liked being able to sit in the residents' lounge in the evening. 7.9 Good
Pros: Good breakfast, with fresh berries and yoghurt for the cereals. Cooked English included option for kippers. Staff very helpful and friendly. Location in the centre of Kirby Stephen goo for local amenities, and as a base for walking in the area. 10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything location, Inn, food and the chickens lovely stay will book again
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We booked the Fat Lamb at fairly short notice for a weekend away walking. It’s a great base for the Howgill Fells, which we’ve seen from a distance a number of times (on the way the Lake District and walking the Coast to Coast) but only just got round to visiting. The Fat Lamb is a great base, offering comfortable and welcoming accommodation with good food and good beer.
6.3 Good
Pros: Good location with friendly staff
Cons: Decor super tired
8.8 Excellent
Pros: We arrived on foot in the rain but were welcomed regardless of our state! Kind staff took our wettest gear to the drying room so we were good to set off the next day. We loved the quirky classic car (and other retro) memorabilia, which may say something about our age, too. sadly we didn't get to explore the nature reserve nor see the local area in good conditions because of the weather, but we'll come back when there's a better forecast!
8.3 Excellent
Pros: The breakfast was good although the coffee was lukewarm. Beds very good, comfortable lounge and nice unspoilt atmosphere.
Cons: Rooms cramped, lacking chairs and shower poor considering the high price. Meal very ordinary for the high prices and only real ale off form.
7.5 Good
Pros: The breakfast was wholesome but could have been offered earlier than 8.30am
Cons: Having to wait till 8.30
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Traditional country inn. Lovely views and relaxed atmosphere. Food enjoyable and large portions.
Cons: Rooms and bathrooms need updating.
3.8 Mediocre
Cons: Room was too small has no where to put stuff, there is a chunky cupboard in the room occupying too much space and not very useful. And the room is above the pub kitchen with loud noisy fan outside the window and smell from the kitchen, it was very hot in summer time due to kitchen below. Breakfast was average with grumpy staff service.
7.9 Good
Pros: Location, friendly staff and atmosphere .Beer garden lovely in the sun with very friendly chickens
Cons: Think for weekend breakfast time is a little restricted.you only get a one hour window.
