Cons: nothing
7.9 Good
Cons: Kagaonsen is too quiet as a tourist spot. Restaurants & shops are few & they closed very early.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Loved the hotel, friendly staff, it was my second time staying here, this time with my parents. I would say go for the upgraded meal on the chef's counter, totally worth it.
Cons: Kaga is a bit out of the way, but not too bad

Cons: Nil
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Nice location with a short walk to the trail that runs along the beautiful gorge and a slightly longer walk to the center of town.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Delicious Teppanyaki dinner and breakfast. Onsen is exceptional. Very friendly and helpful staff. Free shuttle bus from Komatsu Airport is very helpful.
Cons: A bit pricey.
9.0 Excellent
Pros: Lots of extras - pancakes and coffee/tea in the afternoon, popsicles in the onsen, beer and sweets in the evening, traditional performance after dinner (the last two we did not have time to enjoy). Both dinner and breakfast were delicious. Breakfast was semi-buffet style with some interesting appetizers and drinks (including sake!) in addition to the set menu. We walked along the onsen street and it got dark already. It was good that we could take the shuttle bus back from its sister hotel. The foreign staff that speaks English was polite and helpful.
Cons: It was a pity that the traditional performance ended before be finished our dinner as we opted for a later dinner slot. Would be nice if the free shuttle to the JR station could be more frequent on departure.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The food throughout (including the complimentary welcome afternoon dessert, dinner and breakfast) was phenomenal. The room and amenities were excellent, the private onsen and the ability to use the public one and book time for a separate onsen was excellent. I was celebrating my fiancé’s birthday and they took extra care of her during the dinner service. The available yukata/kimonos was cool.
Cons: We weren’t given full instructions on certain things and rules regarding our personal onsen. We kind of figured it out through trial and error. It wasn’t too hard to do though.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: The hotel let me choose between western- and Japanese-styled breakfast. I tried both and they were very good.
Cons: The living room in my room is carpet floor. Actually, I prefer a room with hardwood (or tatami mat) to carpet.

Pros: A marvellous experience. Absolutely charming staff made you feel so welcome. Great dinner and breakfast. The baths!!! . And the futon was sublime. Thank you so much
10.0 Excellent
Pros: I think I can safely say that this hotel exceeded my expectations. The staff was amazing, very helpful and kind. The food was divine and we got to experience Japanese cuisine through just a dinner and a breakfast. Kaiseki was served in a private tatami room. The Onsen was clean and spacious with a lot of options for bath necessities. The location of the hotel is really good as it is by the lake next to the water temple and a few meters distance from the public foot baths. They picked us with a minibus from the train station and they return us the same way which is really convenient as the station is a bit far from the hotel. We just headed to the tourist office at the station and they called the hotel to pick us up. We were welcomed with some tea (we had teapot, water etc in the room) and some sweets. The always helpful staff showed us around our room and arranged for our dinner and breakfast times. The staff was so friendly we felt like we were home! I would definitely recommend this hotel to everybody and I will probably return another day myself!
Cons: Nothing to mention here.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: nice view (lake and fireworks), very friendly, esp. Mama-sang :)

Pros: Location by the lake
Cons: Food so so.

Pros: Staffs are extremely helpful if you can understand Japanese
Cons: The room is dated
4.2 Okay
Pros: Food
Cons: Room facilities, air conditioning had sound loudly at night; the safe have 4 layers but only one was worked. Floor was not flat in the room. No hot water.
9.0 Excellent
Pros: Extremely beautiful hotel with very friendly staff. Even though we did not speak Japanese, communication worked quite well. Staff members spoke enough English and were very kind and welcoming. The house has a very traditional feeling to it, but after a few moments of adjustment we noticed the atmosphere was rather relaxed. The room itself was large and very nice, the bathroom a little aged, but the hot tub was amazing nontheless!
Cons: We asked for futon beds and understood these would be brought during dinner. Some minutes later three staff members were entering the room, and we didn't know what they wanted due to our lack of Japanese. There were no futons after dinner, so we had to ask again... I guess communication is easier when you're able to speak a little more Japanese.
5.8 Okay
Cons: Hotel really old, we booked 3 rooms; 2 for four and 1 For 2. 2persons room no bath room inside the room; 4 persons sometime have hot water sometime not. Air conditioner was really old, no remote adjust the temperature and the button like 20years only 1,2 and 3. The most important was really noise. Very disapointed.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Natural hot spring Onsen, history being the second oldest hotel in the world
Cons: Limited ala carte menu for youngest 12 year old kid, carpeting looks a bit tired and old
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Out door bath room Dinner and breakfast are nice. Cofort bed
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Great Japanese garden, onsen, and hospitality. 1,400 year-old history of ryokan (registered the oldest ryokan on Guinness records at one point).
Cons: Futon was a bit hard and slight odor of smoke in the hallway. Food was so-so but it was catered to my pescatarian diet. I appreciate their attentiveness to my dietary restriction.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Impeccable services. The room we booked was a little bit cold, and they were happy to arrange to a differrnt room. Also, when we were worried about the next reservation in another Ryokan, they were happily checked with that Ryokan delivering our special request for us. Onsen (hot springs) was wonderful - the water quality, bath tubs and piblic bath areas were very clean and well maintained, outdoor bath was very nice. Nice and all necessary toiletry amenities. There was nice tradition art experience park nearby, where we had a fun and shopped for nice souvenirs gifts.
Cons: Some areas are old and therefore looks not clean, but considering how old this Ryokan is, it is very well maintained.

9.6 Excellent
Pros: Huge room, amazing dinner and breakfast, nice and very good value private onsen.

8.3 Excellent
Pros: The kaiseki breakfast and dinner were great.
Cons: The baths were good overall but the water was not as hot as the previous place we stayed
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Nice hotel, a bit old-fashioned but nevertheless charming. Very nice and helpful staff. The room was spacious, diner and breakfast were delicious. The onsen are really beautiful (especially the one with the outdoor bath) and agreeable. We had the chance to be there during the week, so there were little customers. We had a very relaxing stay.
Cons: Bad surprise for us: access to the hotel's onsens is forbidden to people with tattoos... We were lucky that the private onsens were free on the day we were there, otherwise it would have ruined our stay. Also our bathroom was a bit smelly.
