Breakfast area was nice, breakfast itself was also good
The room was chilly, requires urgent refurbishment
Very basic food provided, but you can eat as much as you like. Staff pleasant.
Tea pot/jug should have been replenished more often as very stewed.
Terrible fit-out, noisy, bad pillows, a sheet and a fleece blanket.... terrible
The hotel corresponds to its description: basic accommodation, good location, amenities as described. Negative comments found in other reviews are also correct: refurbishment is required, small rooms, etc. However, all this is provided in the hotel description, so potential guests are advised before booking. The lady on reception on my arrival was highly professional, helpful and friendly. Bed and bathroom clean. The hotel is, in fact, well described (both in descriptions and reviews), so no unexpected surprises. And it turned out to be much better than reviews suggest :)
There will be nothing negative which would not have been already mentioned in previous comments. The building is outdated and is under renovation. Whilst it is bad for 90 per cent of guests, I find it extremely positive that the hotel manages to smoothly renovate the rooms while accepting the guests. I happen to have the room just in front of the "building site", which was no problem at all (just an additional smell of cleaning in the end of the day). The annoying fact was the cleaning team entering the room (either you are in or out) at 9h-9h30 in the morning to clean/offer new towels/empty bins. Even if they seem to be polite and immediately burst into excuses, one can hardly appreciate anyone entering the room without any notice (informed in advance, knocking or asking) at 9h30 or so. The standards for bed and bathroom (clean and tidy) were not respected for surfaces. The floor in the room was not vacuumed (one can easily find pieces of leaves, fashion tags, hair, etc.). The public staircase was not cleaned for 2 days (unless they wanted to impose the romantic set of yellow autumn leaves on all incoming guests).
Location was good. Close to tube station
Not very clean. We were given a room where there were rolls of carpet and paint in front of the door. Was hard to get into the room. Also on the website it said car park closed due to building works. When we got there the car park was available. So website wasn't updated and we paid extra to park the car.
