Cons: Nothing - everything was excellent.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We are a family of 6. We said in a house of the hotel great conditions with a swimming pool.
4.6 Okay
Cons: Room ( it is not a luxury room ), bathroom, lack of privacy in the room, lack of private outside space, breakfast, coffee
7.0 Good
Pros: Nice location Breakfast was good but at this price we would have expected something special
Cons: Be aware that there's not 24 hour availability of staff as it's not a real hotel but rather a private recidence Prices of wine in the minibar are very high, would recommend visit at local store where you get the same wine at 1/3 price We used the swimming towels once and they got removed and did not get replaced even though we spent 4 nights at this place. Not a big deal for us but not what we would expect for this kind of place.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: I can’t begin to explain how beautiful this stay was. The staff was incredible. They clearly go out of their way to make sure their guests have a wonderful stay. The grounds are immaculate, the breakfast is wonderful, and the location is great. It is about a 5 min drive to the center of town. Across the street is a wonderful swimming hole. This accommodation is definitely for those that like to live like a local and not at hotel. Jose greeted us and gave us a wonderful tour upon check-in and was helpful throughout our stay. I will definitely be going back.

Pros: Lovely place to stay with helpful staff. Swimming pool was a great bonus. Breakfast was also super!!!
Cons: Accomodation is located a few kilometres from the town of Madalena so car hire is essential.
5.0 Okay
Pros: Good breakfast
Cons: Pool closed only open July/August
5.8 Okay
Cons: We had to wait awhile for someone to show up to check in. We rung the bell multiple times and finally had to call the number of the cell phone which was left by the front desk before someone showed up.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Friendly staff, clean room
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Rooms are very good, new and clean, spacious and comfortable beds. Nice shower and perfect breakfast, lots of choice hot and cold buffet!
Cons: The taxi from the harbour in Sao Roque to the hotel (the service they offer) was too expensive, more expensive than a regular taxi. As a service for guests they should offer a discount on transfers because you already pay enough for the hotel. On Sundays they charge extra money for transfers, which doesn't seem very customer oriented.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The swimming pool is fantastic - heated, and has a roof, so lovely and warm. Great view. Perfect for relaxing after exploring the island. Highly recommended!

10.0 Excellent
Pros: It was a great stay! But the most oustanding was the reception staff work. I travel a lot, but here I met the highest professionalism of Mr.Andre Silvejra. We got accurate, fast and friendly help in everything that we need: a cake for my son (who turned 10 ), lovely baloons decorations, best possible resturants in Horta reservations, amazing guide for private tour to Pico and even a massage. Plus here we got an upgrade for the room with a great view. Mr.Andre personally made our short trip so nice and comfortble, that I am sure that the hotel managent is to be proud to have such a specialist on board:) We also enjoyed jacuzzi with a great view upstairs in a fitness center.
Cons: Brekfast seemed to me very simple and definately needs some improvement.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We stayed here off season with my husband and really loved the place. The location was great, nice breakfast, friendly staff and there were opportunities to use sauna and jacuzzi every single evening. Was totally worth the money!

Cons: The coffee served for breakfast is a disgrace.

8.0 Excellent
Pros: Tasty and varied breakfast. Very nice staff, ready to help and very welcoming. The room had a nice view, was well equipped and clean. The bar and restaurant have a good variety of meal options, both in price and type, and a good service. Also liked the jaccuzi.
Cons: Nothing important to point out.
9.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful view from the infinity pool area, nice indoor heated pool, sauna, spa, and exercise facilities. Breakfast was plentiful and had lots of variety. Location is up a staircase from the town, so may be difficult for people with mobility issues, but otherwise had easy access to local restaurants (check out Peter Cafe Sport) and sightseeing. Staff was super polite and helpful and spoke great English.
Cons: Some of the furnishings (and the hallways) look like they have seen better days but this did not detract from the pleasant stay.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Luxury hotel with spacious bedroom/bathroom, comfy beds, giant balcony, amazing views of Pico, short 2 min walk to Horta town, many choices at breakfast.
Cons: Room was a bit damp and A/C did not work; shower took 5 minutes to warm up and was tepid at best; swimming pool had a mandatory bathing cap policy and front desk charged a fee for bathing caps, which was mildly annoying (who travels with a bathing cap?).
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Very nice resort complex to spend some time relaxing or exploring the town of Horta which is a short walk away. Very nice breakfast included.
6.3 Good
Pros: Excellent position, large parking space free of charge
Cons: This hotel has probably lived its glory days 1-2 decades ago. It has probably used to be luxorious but not anymore. The carpet looks very dirty and old, furniture the same. Sheets and towels were clean, breakfast good. The worst was that we didn’t have hot water in the bathroom. Sink or shower, only cold water. Sorry, this is not a 4 stars hotel!
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Good choice for breakfast
Cons: Parking
4.0 Okay
Pros: Breakfast buffet was ok. Staff, particularly in bar & reception were very friendly Location in centre of town very good.
Cons: Hotel is tired. We had wardrobe door hanging off its hinges. Paint on woodwork badly chipped. No tea or coffee or kettle in room and no free bottled water after 1st night despite having grey water running in our bath/shower. Expected to pay 2 euros for a bottle of water which you could buy in town half price. NOT good service. Swimming pool lights not on and jacuzzi not warm.

8.3 Excellent
Pros: Excellent location. The setting of the old fortress is charming, the balcony in the room is spacious and the view to the pool and ocean is great.
Cons: The room is outdated. The shower is old and very small, the closet has only hanging, no shelves. Breakfast is ok, not amazing, coffee machine had some problems but was fixed by staff. Only one staff member that knows her business is in charge of the whole restaurant.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: I want to thank the women at the front desk who changed our room from one that was small and musty with a view of nothing to a view of the water. We did have to pay extra which was ok but I thought was not necessary to charge more.
Cons: The bed was way to hard!!!! Had to pay more for a Nicer room.
7.9 Good
Pros: Great location and the best view of the marina and Pico. Very helpful staff.
Cons: Unfortunately there was construction work for the park (?) next door so the façade of the Pousada was not as beautiful and welcoming as expected.

8.3 Excellent
Pros: We loved the farm and the many little areas to sit, we spent a lovely evening watching the sunset from one of the terraces. The owner was very helpful when we arrived and gave us a tour of the property. We did not have a car and I feel this is a necessity for this particular accommodation. The breakfast was loveky but they could have done with a slightly larger selection of meats and yogurts. I particularly liked the local cheeses at breakfast.
Cons: It was further from Horta centre than we realised and our room was not very private with thin doors and slightly see through curtains(room 8). This affected our stay as we were there on honeymoon. We could every word people outside our room were saying so we would have preferred a bit more privacy away. We also had nowhere to store clothes in our room so we had to leave all of our clothes in our bag and rummage about each morning. We would also have liked a small fridge or somewhere to keep water cool, the water from the tap was warm although drinkable.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Nice little relaxing agroturismo (rural B&B) just off the airport of Faial (but there are so few planes that you don't even notice). We arrived in very bad weather having been diverted from Pico and we decided to change plans, which was not a problem at all. The place has a few rooms in several buildings, all nicely renovated, tastefully furnished and very clean. Breakfast is very good with local products and the owners are very welcoming. What originally made us to decide to stay at Quinta da Meia Era was the cat in the pictures (no one can say cats are not good for business...) as we also have an orange cat at home, and they turned out to be three cuddly ginger cats. Unfortunately, we only had one night, this would be a perfect place for some layed back week in summer not doing much else than hiking and exploring the island. We need to come back one day for exactly that.
Cons: They are aware that the pool needs a bit of refurbishment, when that is done it will be an absolute dream relaxing holiday place. We had some power outages due to the storm, but that is not anyone's fault really and the electricity company was going around everywhere to try to fix things as soon as possible.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: We wish we stayed longer than one day in this beautiful place. The houses are surrounded by a lovely garden, fantastic smell from trees and flowers are all around. We enjoyed the sunset and the morning ocean views from the balcony. Special thanks to Fransisco and Susana, who met us at the airport, showed markets with the local food, gave us lots of useful tips and organized a sailing tour.
Cons: NA

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything is amazing at this paradise-looking place! The hosts are super kind, everything is decorated at the highest standards, the bed is very comfy and the breakfast is great!! If you're visiting Faial and you want to be surrounded by nature, yet next door to the airport and only a short drive to the main city, do not hesitate staying here!
Cons: I only wish we could have stayed longer!!
