10.0 Excellent
Pros: Booked for my parents who absolutely love staying in this family run hotel. They have stayed multiple times over the past 5 years.
9.0 Excellent
Pros: The great hospitality
Cons: Nothing
1.0 Poor
Pros: NOTHING AT ALL !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Cons: The room was very outdated, no wardrobe, the bed linen was from the seventies and washed out in colour, in the bathroom tiling grouting was very very dirty, the paintwork needed painting, the mirror was rusty and the room had a not so nice smell in it. My adult son's room upstairs, the bed was very uncomfortable, the shower was almost none at all. The fabulous breakfast that people have raved about, was very bad, the bacon had been pre-cooked and heated up and was as hard as a rock, in fact, I couldn't eat my breakfast at all, there was no hash browns at all, as advertised, the only good thing about the breakfast was the toaster, it worked really well. I looked at other peoples reviews before I booked this hotel and everyone stated that it was fabulous and that the breakfast was outstanding, as I haven't seen these people giving these reviews, I do not know whether they are true or not, but I find it very hard to believe it, if they are. I would not, in a million years recommend this hotel to anyone at all and I certainly would not go back there. We have stayed in a lot of B&Bs in Great Britain and over seas and we have never stayed in one so bad. I do have a lot of photo's that I took there last night and this morning, which I can produce if anyone would like to see what it is really like. The room we stayed in, the asking price was £60 per night, at least £20 overpriced This is an honest and true review
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Staff very helpful. Breakfast very tasty.
Cons: Heating off in the morning
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Good price good location very good host
Cons: There is little or no sound proofing, I was woken up at around 1:15 am and there was loud talking and laughing. It sounded like it was in my room. The breakfast crew were in early and was very loud banging and crashing and loud voices. My room was over the kitchen and dining room.
7.0 Good
Pros: Great breakfast, friendly staff. Good location.
Cons: Beds seemed a little old and saggy in the middle, no extra blankets either and it was a very cold night!
5.0 Okay
Pros: Clean
Cons: Staff divulged personal information to a phone caller, that they shouldn't have done.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Clearly being renovated and modernised over time, this proved a good location for us. Room was clean and well provisioned. Break was included and was excellent! Parking on site was secure and staff were very helpful and friendly. Small communal kitchen handy if you wanted to bring food in or store food in refrigerator.
Cons: Bedroom door not soundproofed so some noise as people came and went. Mattress was good but could better.

8.0 Excellent
Pros: Only had lunch in the bar which was excellent.
Cons: Nothing
9.0 Excellent
Pros: Incredibly helpful staff from start to finish. From the receptionist to the chamber maids, they did all they could to accommodate our special requests. The lengths they went to, to make sure a family member who was registered blind was cared for, was exceptional.
Cons: I think the staff are sometimes left to cope alone behind the bar. Not their fault, but leads to slower service. However, they are very polite, friendly and apologetic
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Such a large and unique building. It had an historic feeling but with appropriate updates. My bathroom had a nice shower and tub combo, and the room was comfortable. It also had a nice bar and breakfast area.
7.9 Good
Pros: Well situated with lots of character. Good place for visiting the area.
Cons: The bed was not too comfortable, found it rather hard.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Lovely room overlooking the garden. Good TV for the rugby! Comfortable bed. The dining room was very impressive. All the staff were pleasant and attentive. We really liked this hotel in an very nice small town.
Cons: The menu had no specials on and it seemed they never did? It was typically pub food - i.e fish and chips/ burgers so rather limited and unimaginative. The red wine was enjoyable.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything was as I expected very good as we pop into the hotel often over a number of years. The room is well appointed and very cosy and comfortable.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: A wonderful old building which has been tastefully redesigned and decorated. Extremely helpful staff and nothing appeared to be too much trouble. Dan the hotel manager was a superstar, not sure how many jobs one person can do.
Cons: Room 209 an issue with our bath taps but soon resolved with a smile

Pros: Staff were extremely helpful and friendly. Dinner was lovely as I asked for steak without the usual chips/onion ring trimmings, only salad as am on low carb orders from my doctor! The steak was very good and salad lovely. Thank you chef and the lovely lady who took my order. This is a traditional, old values and respectful place to stay.
Cons: Nothing! It was a lovely stay..

Pros: We were very pleased with size of room and comfort of the bed. The Elvis Tribute Act by Paul Larcombe in the evening was brilliant. The buffet breakfast was very good except you had to ask staff if you wanted toast.
Cons: Late night noise outside hotel from either guests or hotel staff after mid night.
