6.3 Good
Pros: Tasty breakfast on terrace overlooking the ocean. This is primarily a resort for Germans and Italians who are respectful of others and the property...very nice not to be surrounded by boorish Americans (and I’m an American!).
Cons: Expensive taxi ride from Portoferraio and poor bus service around island. Limited eating options on premises. Small room for four people. Few English speakers on staff so somewhat difficult to request help.
7.9 Good
Pros: The bed was harder than I usually prefer but quite comfortable despite this, and the breakfast was quite good. The location of this hotel is probably the best part, as it has what is essentially a private cove (just shared with a beach club of some kind). The sea is mostly calm because of this, and very clear and clean. Just a beautiful location in general.
Cons: Dinner is served off a very limited menu, is quite expensive, and not as good as other restaurants we ate at on the island (only had dinner in the hotel once, the first night). We had requested rooms close to each other, but were instead given rooms on different floors and at nearly opposite ends of the building. Additionally, what they describe as ‘mountain view’ is actually more like ‘parking lot view’ - the view from one of our rooms was very depressing, especially for such a beautiful island like Elba. Finally, the (thankfully free) WiFi wasn’t bad when it worked, but it would disconnect randomly and often, and to get back online you’d have to go through the whole connection process every time.
7.9 Good
Pros: beach was nice and always free beds although 10eur to get front line of beds breakfast was good, staff friendly
Cons: wifi logs you off every 10-15 mins - a little annoying
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Great location and beautiful clean beach. Good facilities including tennis and swimming pool and beach bar reasonable prices. Nicely kept gardens
Cons: free shuttle bus to local village finished too early in the evening to make use of it for evenings out
6.7 Good
Pros: Very clean water, and beach. Nice and clean sunbeds. Very quite , beautiful nature around.
Cons: Breakfast. It was very, very poor. Not value for the money. Poor internet conection, or no internet conection at all.
6.7 Good
Pros: We had a 4 night stay and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The Hotel itself is situated in a wonderful cove, the beach itself is stunning with beautifully clear water and is very safe for kids. There is a beach bar which serves decent snacks and drinks and is very convenient. The Hotel and grounds are also lovely with a great aspect in the surrounding hillside. The swimming pool is fantastic with enough loungers and umbrella's to go around. Adjacent, there is a kids play area and two tennis courts which, along with the lovely sandy beach provide all you need for a family stay. We didn't have half/full board, but dined at the Hotel a couple of times in the evening. The menu was simple, but the food was very good and we were all satisfied with the service and quality of food available. The outside seating areas of the hotel are really good and offer wonderful views of the beach and beyond. Our room was a family room which amazing views of the beach and we were fortunate to be on the beach side of the Hotel complex, whereas some other rooms wouldn't have afforded such wonderful views.
Cons: Unfortunately we do have some complaints. The bed/mattress was incredibly soft and uncomfortable. We complained, and eventually the hotel changed our double bed/mattress for two single mattresses which were firmer, but still not perfect. I expected more from a 4-star hotel. We were left feeling like we didn't come first as customers, and had to complain to get what was expected. The bathroom was tired, dirty and needs an upgrade. It was not of the standard shown in the pictures on the website. In fact, it is not shown at all on the family room picture detail. No need to ask why. Upon entering the bathroom for the first time, there were pubic hairs on the wall which was not at all welcome. The breakfast was poor, with limited choice and was not up to the standard or quality we are used too. It certainly left us feeling like we were paying over the top for what was on offer. 3 star breakfast, a long way from 4 star. We were really annoyed on our first day with the bed and bathroom, and to top it off the Hotel tried to charge us for a front-row sun lounger. They are included in the superior or deluxe rooms, but to our dismay not the family rooms. It was only 10 euros, but that wasn't the point. The point was we were paying more for the family room than the superior and deluxe rooms and were furious to be charged extra. We complained hard, and eventually they agreed to include these with our stay. These points did spoil our first two days of our stay at this hotel, but we left overall happy in the end.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: perfect location to enjoy the sea as well as to explore the island, good amenities (tennis courts, large swimming pool, private beach) really ticks all the boxes - maybe a bit old school but imho it actually adds to its charm
Overview Reviews
Amidst idyllic surroundings on the island of Elba, this 3-star hotel seems at one with nature. Run by Teresa Abrate, the Hotel Sant'Andrea, The Originals Relais is a haven of calm, and the perfect place to peacefully enjoy the local art of living. It is also a family hotel with a warm, friendly feel. The 22 rooms, garden, and sublime terrace encourage guests to sit back and savour a few magical moments of relaxation.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: The peacefulness and excellent dining experience.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: A very nice family run hotel. Staff very friendly. The newly renovated rooms are very nice and quiet. For Italian standards exceptional breakfast.
Cons: All minor issues were taken care off quickly and efficiently.
7.5 Good
Pros: The garden and the silence.
6.7 Good
Pros: reception staff was very frendly and helpfull.
Cons: restaurant staff was unfrendly and not helpfull at all.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Wonderful hotel with an incredible garden and view. It definitely exceeded our expectations for a 3 stat hotel. The beach is a 15/20mins walk down hill (or up hill going back), otherwise the hotel offers a free shuttle every two hours. The beach is small but the water is so crystal clear!! We tried the hotel restaurant and it was amazing, I also recommend going to the sunset terrace for an aperitivo. Sant’Andrea is a bit of a drive in narrow windy roads from the main ports but the hotel makes it worthwhile!
Cons: Check in could have been a bit more informative, for example I had to call to ask whether the space at the beach was included, whether we needed to book a table for dinner and we were not shown around the property at all. Luckily our room neighbours told us about the sunset terrace with the panoramic view which is up some stairs behind the hotel.

Featured amenities include dry cleaning/laundry services, a 24-hour front desk, and luggage storage. A roundtrip airport shuttle is provided for a surcharge (available 24 hours), and free self parking is available onsite.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We've been on Elba off-season. Very helpful and kind owners. It's a tranquil place. The village Pomonte is a bit off the beaten track, so we suggest hiring a car or scooter to get around the island. Also, if you're into geology, this is your island. As far as hiking is concerned, we liked that you can always see the sea from any trail.
6.3 Good
Cons: Our previously booked room was not free at the first day and we have been given another room in a distant building.
7.1 Good
Pros: I went there for one night in order to dive at the shipwreck location. The island is very big and has many beautiful landscapes. It is easy to get there with the ferry.
Cons: The Bus service in September changed and so it was extremely limiting to get around the island. Without a car it is merely impossible to go anywhere. Pomonte was very far from all the other areas. There is not much to do. And the beach was not great. There were better swimming spots than pomonte.

Pros: Nice and friendly people. Fantastic surroundings and an amazing garden. Good food.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: The garden was gorgeous.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Really beautiful place. Staff were super super friendly. Really sophisticated vibe but families were welcome too. A refreshing change. Tonnes of great food, some really varied vegan options too. Wine was also fabulous. You should advertise that better! Very short walk to the gorgeous beach.
Cons: There were lots of vegan options. We asked for the set menu and they said they would make it vegan for us by swapping dishes and making it better for us. When it came to finalising the bill, they had charged us twice. Once for the set menu and once for the dishes we had instead of the meat options. Very disappointed with that.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: The grounds of this hotel are spectacular. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The rooms are very nice and comfy. This place is great.

Pros: Pool overlooking the sea was beautiful. Great bar and evening food.
Cons: No lunch service. Road up was pretty rough.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: The location is ideal, the hotel offers a stunning view of the ocean. At breakfast and dinner you have the most beautiful view. There is a free bus shuttle to several beaches which is very practical. Best thing for me though was the dinner: They have an excellent chef and offer a full vegan menu every night. This place is ideal for vegans. Also, I got a vegan croissant every morning and there is also plant milk and cereal as well as fruit. Thanks for making this place so special for vegans. I really appreciate.
Cons: The only thing that we didn't like so much was the coffee.

4.2 Okay
Pros: The kindness of most of the waiters !
Cons: Room was not a 4 stars hotel room, from very far away. All of them was renovated said the advert, but not ours in fact. Bed was like a camping bed, never slept so bad in a 4 stars hotel, bathroom was dirty with limestone and mold! Finally the concert on Sunday night, very loud, it was impossible to sleep. A REAL SHAME ! BE CAREFUL WHEN BOOKING THIS HOTEL!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: What an amazing compound overlooking the beach with its own umbrellas and chairs. The swimming was fabulous and the restaurant accommodated our request for an "al fresco" table. Everything about this site was amazing.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: The staff is great and helpful, just lovely. The view was amazing. The terrass (definitely get sea view!!) in our room was great. We travelled with our son who took naps in the cool room during the hotter hours and we could still enjoy the weather out on the terass while he slept. The restaurant (halfboard) was good, choice was great and service good. Bonus for the surprise apertitivo on one of evenings. The beach is probably one of the best at Elba. Family friendly but wide and big enough not to feel crowded yet it felt safe to leave things while taking a swin. The restaurants on the beach were also good. The parking was easy to use. The location is juts amazing.
Cons: The bed was a bit hard. Room decor could be updated. The fact that they don't have a better deal with the beachclubs. We ended up buying parasols and beach mats which was very easy and worked out great. The private beaches did not seem that appealing to us and 10% discount for hotel guests is not appealing enough.
9.6 Excellent
Cons: Food could have been better, the staff was amazing though
8.3 Excellent
Pros: My room had an enormous balcony with nice sea view. The room was clean and the beach of Cavoli is small but really georgeous! At end of september is was quite full, at high season I guess it is super crowded. At night there are not many options for dining, but you reach the next village within 10 to 15 minutes by feet (on the main road - not too nice to walk). From the hotel to the beach you walk about 3 minutes.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The location was incredible! The staff was extremely welcoming and the service provided was excellent! The restaurant food was fantastic!
5.4 Okay
Pros: Short notice walk to local beach, restaurant pleasant with great view
Cons: Rooms were v tired and hotel definitely not 4 star
8.3 Excellent
Pros: The staff went above and beyond to make us happy. Location was good above Cavoli beach and we had upgraded to a sea view room which had a very nice view ( see below though )
Cons: Food for us was underwhelming. Breakfast was just OK and dinners were a disappointment. Be aware not all sea view rooms are created equal, the first one they showed us was very cramped and small. Patios are not very private.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Very good location. A few meters away from one of the best beaches in Elba, the CAVOLI BEACH. Friendly staff, clean room, and good breakfast buffet. Our double room was air-conditioned, complete with fridge and safebox. We had a balcony as well. Wifi is good too, but a bit better near the reception. Free private parking.
Cons: Charged us for a small fee/day for my 4 yo child. A little bit pricey, though booked 7months early. All in all a perfect and comfy stay.

Featured amenities include express check-in, complimentary newspapers in the lobby, and a 24-hour front desk. A roundtrip airport shuttle is complimentary (available on request).
5.8 Okay
Pros: Location of the Hotel is great, just opposite the beach. Room size was ok but even sea view rooms only have a side view in reality due to how the hotel is constructed. A big plus is the free parking. Although not sure if there are enough spaces for high season traffic. Breakfast choice was quite good for Italien standards. Great cakes!
Cons: For starters the receptionist was far from welcoming. Indifferent but with very good English at least ;) The hotel is very old and has not been renovated since the 80ies at least. Plus you can hear every word and movement from the rooms around you. We felt is was mainly a hotel for pensioners that come with big busses. Therefore breakfast organisation is very “efficient” let’s say.
7.9 Good
Pros: Shuttle included to/from the airport, with a location right on the beach and a great breakfast.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: The best hotel on Elba! Perfect location - just right on the beach, which in July wasnt crowded at all. Staff very nice and helpful. Room was SUPER clean, everyday! Bed super comfortable. Make sure to pay a little more for balcony and the seaview, it is worth it! Good breakfast. Overall it is very quiet and nice, despite the fact it is right on the beach. Sufficient number of parking spots.
Cons: Nothing!!
6.7 Good
Pros: 1. Breakfast 2. Position 3. Polite staff
Cons: 1. Can't be considered a 4 stars hotel. 2. No iron in the hotel 3. Staff was not that much informed about the activities around. They only suggested to take the depliant from the table

Cons: No value for money
7.1 Good
Cons: Noise in the nighttime from the hotels own renovation and other intern traffic, Did not sleep much. The view from the room was like being in a prison. Do not book room 16. The aircondition was noisy like a jet plane. The rest was OK/fine.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Well located. Very clean
Cons: Price, very expensive
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Loved the location and the friendly staff. Great spread at breakfast, good bathroom and big rooms. SO close to the beach and in the middle of everything.
Cons: It was all good or fine.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Great selection at breakfast. Staff were very helpful. Excellent location for exploring Elba. The linen towels were an extra special touch.
6.3 Good
Pros: The easy access to the beach
Cons: Disatisfied with the communication of information during reservation of the room: i chose the first available garden view room, but not the lowest price, rather the 70% refundable with breakfast. Unfortunately, what booking listed as such, meant something different for the provider: a room with street/parking view on the ground floor end of the corridor, next to the common toilets with no daylight and very old basic interior design. Certainly the price was 4 star (410€ for 2 nights, for 2 adults and a small kid under 6), but the room was 2 star.
5.4 Okay
Pros: Nice breakfast, excellent location, excellent pool.
Cons: We disliked the room and the how worn and damaged the furniture was. We requested a room change and were given a better room the following day

Pros: The genuine welcome, and friendly and helpful attitude of their staff ! Comfortable, clean, well proportioned rooms. Outstanding, large saltwater pool, and beautiful beach, with convenient bars ! The most comprehensive, and delicious breakfasts that we experienced in our 2 week trip. We also liked the mid-north-coast location. Would happily return !
Cons: Nothing
9.6 Excellent
Pros: The hotel web site reads they want their guests to return and I really do want to return. I am a strict hotel guest and can easily notice even a small shortcoming, but Hotel Del Golfo was the only exception where I have not found any. Everything was just perfect - the attentive staff, the territory of the hotel full of beautiful trees and flowers, the room, internet connection, the big comfortable bathroom, the beach, breakfast, dinner... This list could be endless,
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Location, beautiful beach
Cons: Nothing
9.6 Excellent
Pros: All in all perhaps the best hotel I’ve stayed in. And the vegan croissants for breakfast are to die for.
Cons: As it was very hot outside, it would have been nice with some indoor facilities for the kids.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Very Beautiful Property and a we had the most beautiful sea facing suite! Loved the exclusive beach and the food - both at the beach restaurant and at the buffet dinner ! They had sufficient vegan options as well. The staff was very efficient, courteous and helpful!
7.1 Good
Pros: We liked the size of the room, the comfortable bed and the cleanliness of the area.
Cons: We missed a mosquito window in our room. We could not sleep well either because of the noise from the air condition or, withour air condition and with open window, because of the noise from several waste coolers close to the guest house. The beach facilities are very comfortable but the quality of the seawater was poor.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Location and beach were great as well as the multiple pools. The breakfast was fantastic and the staff were all wonderful and friendly.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Wonderful location, perfect service. Top cleanness, I had no issue with the asthma of my son Kindness of the staff goes beyond expectation. It is a dream location. It is also situated close to the main road and it was easy to go an visit other villages. You feel safe, there is even a night guard Only remark is the size of private parking, few cars has to park on the roadway but still inside and protected.
Cons: nothing!

6.7 Good
Pros: reception staff was very frendly and helpfull.
