8.3 Excellent
Pros: The location is superb - right in the centre of the town. Staff was very welcoming, nice restaurant. Comfortable bed, good value for money.

7.0 Good
Pros: Location is brilliant, the beds comfortable, the bedroom warm and the breakfast very good. The host, as always was great.
Cons: The lack of soundproofing, could hear every footstep ,every creak and groan of the floor boards, every word and every movement from the couple in the room just above my head - low ceiling so they were literally feet above my head, so had to wait till gone 1 am to get any sleep when they finally went to sleep. They could be heard complaining my alarm clock at 8.30 am was 'really loud', proving they could hear as much as me ( it is not a loud alarm and only rang once as I was already awake!) and as I was there working, the lack of sleep is not something I would want for more than a night. Is inevitable, but a pity and the main reason I do not stay there often, despite loving everything else about it.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: I didn't have breakfast as you had to go into the main services for it and it was pouring with rain, so I didn't bother. Good that it is dog friendly and that needs to be better shown as Membury is a good stop off without having to travel further to a hotel when you are tired from a long journey.
Cons: I was driving round the services car park trying to find the road to get to Day's Inn hotel - couldn't find it so parked in services car park and went into the services to ask - this was 12.45am and not many people around, but found someone who said you have to park in main services car park and walk up the path at the side of the services to the hotel at the back of it. So that could be better signposted to say you have to walk up the path and no access by car to hotel to save time looking for it! As after a long tiring journey with many roadworks it was the last thing I needed at 12.45am to have to drive round the services looking for how to get to the hotel!
8.8 Excellent
Pros: The room was very good for the price, it had everything needed for a short stay. Bed was quite comfortable and there was a sofa in the room which is nice to have. It was quite spacious and clean with a decent bathroom. I wasn’t bothered by traffic noise considering its location just off the motorway. The lady at reception was welcoming and friendly on arrival which did help somewhat after the stressful journey to get there on the night of Storm Dennis.
Cons: It was very tricky to find if you were on the other side of the M4; I had to ask for directions as in the dark there was no way of telling how to get from one side to the other - it turns out there is a hidden service road (with ‘no entry’ signs on it!) which takes you out into a back road via an industrial estate- then after a few miles you eventually get to the other services. Yes I should have checked which side of the motorway the hotel was on when booking - but it would help to have much clearer information about this on the site when booking. Also there was an issue with the hot water I.e there was none - I was too tired to try to deal with it on arriving, hoped there would be some by the morning but this wasn’t the case unfortunately. Advice to self and other travellers- check that everything works in the room when you first arrive...

Cons: Room dated .bed awful ..

Cons: there was no protection on the windows, anybody could have climbed in through it.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything was excellent, we did enjoy having the patio next to the river. The location was great for walking along the canal. The breakfast and evening food was all top quality, just wish I knew how to make chips like the chief did them!
Cons: Hard to suggest as it was all excellent, if anything some cheaper options on the evening menu, but that is being fussy as the food we had was great.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Food was excellent, really hearty breakfasts and very good catering for gluten free food! The room was beautiful, nice big bathroom also. The pub in general was beautiful and in a really nice area with stunning garden and views of the canals. Great walks nearby too and cute village. Very easy commute from London Euston. Staff very helpful and friendly. Had a really really lovely weekend.
Cons: Advert says there is 'facilities for disabled guests' but there didn't seem to be any ramps/level access into the main pub (only one lower ground room). Would be good to update the advert to give more information to disabled travellers/ensure staff know to give lots of detail over the phone: it would have been terrible to find this out upon arrival if we'd needed it.
