Top tips for finding the perfect Marrakesh hotel

A stay within the ancient, pink-hued walls of the Medina of Marrakesh is an unforgettable experience. This area is densely packed with beautiful budget hotels like Riad Essaada.
At sundown, the area around the Jemaa El Fna is a lovely place to sip mint tea and watch the colourful streetlife. Numerous hotels and riads (traditional guesthouses) overlook this immense public square, including the Hotel & Ryad Art Place Marrakech and Hotel Ali.
Luxury hotels in Marrakesh feature stunning architecture, opulent spas, beautiful gardens and fine dining. Several are hidden among the bustle of the Medina, including the palatial Royal Mansour Marrakech and La Mamounia, both with 5 stars.
If you are travelling with children, you may prefer a family-friendly hotel with a pool and water park, such as the Labranda Aqua Fun Club Marrakech or Aqua Mirage Club, both ideal options for families.
Visitors seeking something quieter, away from the frenzied streets of the old quarter, should consider a boutique hotel in the Ville Nouvelle (New Town), with its wide, tree-lined boulevards and pretty parks.
Another quiet haven is the palm-fringed oasis known as the Palmeraie, north of the centre. Luxury hotels abound in this upmarket area, as do options for leisure pursuits such as golfing.

9.5 Excellent (473 reviews)
Pro " A clean, safe, and beautiful Riad in the middle of the busy streets of Medina. A 10-minute walk from the famous Jemaa El Fna square (it is also the drop off points for Taxis on your way to the Riad so if it's your first time in Marrakech please have a porter arranged by the hotel). It is a comfortable oasis with three courtyards for relaxing and breakfast (which is really nice and fresh), including a good-sized swimming pool, rooftops with sun decks and roofed areas for relaxing and socializing with friends. Very friendly staff that make your stay extra pleasurable, will help arrange anything for you and make sure you are always well informed about your trips, day tours, food, prices, etc. Will also help with dinner reservations. The passers-by are kept away from entering the Riad by a locked entrance door. A simple knock will have the staff open for you and ask for the name of your suite. Very well recommended and will definitely book again whenever we find ourselves in Marrakech again! "

The room decor and furnishing was authentic, with a lot of antique and amazingly intricate detai giving the feeling of comfortable opulence. This oasis literally on the door step to the hussle and bussle of the central square at the edge of the market area provided a really comfortable retreat during and after busy shopping trips. Location, staff, meals, rooms, facilities and service all outstanding. "

Pro " Just I want to give some little information about four seasons in Marrakech it's very nice hotel and good location i recommend this hotel "
Con " What I don't like is they let my partner waiting in the reception for one hour because the hotel staff don't expect cash or somebody else bank card for the payment even i make reservation under my partner name! I try to call them again again they don't accept, they need the same bank card as what we use for booking. After that I have to go to make payment and use my bank card ! It's take for me one hour driving to four season hotel. i never had this problem with other hotels in Morocco and out of Morocco ,really I don't understand why❓it's very unbelievable and totally unacceptable ! Pro " The pool was very nice and comfortable. So was the room. The cocktails are fabulous! "
Con " On booking.com it gave the idea that dinner was inclusive which it was not. The food should be better, twice we ordered a dish med-med/rare and it came out Well done. The last time i had send it back and apologies were extended. Although some may like it, personally i found the crew talking a little too scripted in conversation. Also there was some miscommunication because of a lack of proper english speaking crew. Nothing serious though. "
