Overview Reviews
The epitome of luxury, this grand hotel occupies a striking building adjacent to Marseille’s historic Panier district. You can enjoy a pastis aperitif on the terrace with views of Notre Dame de la Garde Basilica, before dining on Mediterranean dishes in the Michelin-starred Alcyone restaurant. Work out in the fitness room, swim in the indoor pool, or unwind with a treatment in the chic SPA by Clarins. Five minutes’ walk away, boats line the quay of the Vieux-Port, in the heart of the city.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Very beautiful scenery! Wonderful building with extra comfortable pillows and bed.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Our welcome was lacking in friendliness just by one member of staff and I took it perhaps mistakenly that it was because I was travelling alone with children. We felt unimportant. Numerous small problems were more than compensated fir by very friendly staff and super quality hotel so I would go back again with pleasure.
Cons: Lack of friendliness and helpfulness with genuine problems over our room by the check in desk..
10.0 Excellent

7.5 Good
Pros: Great location, historical building, nice facilities

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Solid choice for a 5-night stay in Marseille in late July. Excellent hotel and staff, sound proofing and airconditioners. Espresso maker and cold water in the lobby all day. Nice restaurant and excellent food.
Cons: Nothing
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The view is perfect we love watching the world go by from our balcony. Good sized rooms. The air conditioning is effective & quiet, very well stocked mini bar & very comfortable bed. We stay here often & have never been disappointed. The staff are very friendly & helpful.
Cons: We had problems with the lock on our door. When we explained to the very lovely lady on reception she gave us our breakfasts for free as an apology. Can't say fairer than that.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: The stylish and comfortable hotel - with a great location overlooking the Old Port
Cons: The cold tap in the bath/shower did not work and despite reporting the fault it was not fixed. The curtain material let the light through in the morning so if you were a light sleeper you could be woken up by the dawn.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The location is right on the port and it’s busy but after staying on the other side at another hotel this was a relief! Unfortunately I did not catch the name of the gentleman on reception who assisted us. He was so courteous and professional and always greeted us by name when he saw us. The room facilities in our Prestige Double with a balcony and sea view was wonderful. Facilities included were a kettle, fridge, safe and air con. Bathroom amenities were fine and robes and scuffs provided. Breakfast was plentiful and offered a good variety of foods. The restaurant dinner was very good. Great hotel which I would highly recommend and would stay at again if in Marseille.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: The location was perfect.
Cons: Nothing.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The location of the hotel is superb, right on the old harbour which is really the tourist hub of Marseille. Many of the major sights are in walking distance and the boat trips, tourist hop on and off bus and the tourist train start from here. There is also a metro stop and several bus stops including a route that takes you up to the Notre Dame church. The views from our balcony were amazing and the air con was the best I have ever come across, maintaining a nice fresh environment 24/7 without being noisy. We found the hotel staff to be courteous and charming and felt that they offered a really committed customer service rather than just pushing corporate buttons.
Cons: The room decor was a little tired in places but this was made up for by the overall comfort and the fantastic views. We were also a little surprised to be charged for additional coffee capsules for the machine.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Excellent place to stay, wonderful views, perfect location, warm welcome for Silva at the reception. 5 stars all across!
8.8 Excellent
Pros: I truly enjoyed my time in this hotel. Would always recommend!
Cons: On my last day I had to catch my train in the morning and that is why I was among first people to go for a breakfast at 7am. Unfortunately, it was not even half ready yet.. so i missed eating my favourites from the days before, when I took the breakfast at about 08:30.

Nice care products from Hermès. Complimentary minibar(non alcohol). The AC is super quiet. The hotel also has a spa. Tried the full body massage which was great! The only complaint i have is that the staff could be better in managing english. A bit difficult to communicate. I warmly recommend this hotel! I will stay here again the next time i am in Marseille.

Pros: Great location for travelers going to and pro by train, airport transfer and regional bus connection all within walking distance...
Cons: Knowledgeable professional so friendly receptionist...
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Got a free upgrade to a junior suite room - Really clean, reliable internet. Very good breakfast in a cute patio with option to chose from a small kitchen menu (pain perdu, omelette, pancake)
3.8 Mediocre
Pros: The bed was comfy. The location is incredibly close to the train station, and the airport shuttle. The bar is stylish and the drinks are good. The staff were friendly. The young man who served our drinks was outstanding, he was great at chatting and I enjoyed having a drink with him. He offered good local tips and made our poor stay somewhat better.
Cons: The first room we were assigned was unclean, without hot water, and not up to scratch for a "suite". We had to move and split into two separate rooms and unfortunately we were not given any refund even considering the ordeal of having to unpack somewhere else and not be in a junior suite, like we had booked. The manager was no where to be seen at all during out stay.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Excellent location for travellers, across the road from the central bus and train stations. The Marina/Harbour is only a 15 minute walk away. Hotel staff were very helpful and friendly. Room was very comfortable with good aircon on a very hot August day, but decor needed a little touch up here and there.
Cons: Decor was a little too garish, and we couldn't stay in the hotel lounge because the air conditioning was turned up too high.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Friendly and exceptionally helpful staff.

Pros: Really amazing place! We had an upgrade during our stay and free bar because of our wedding anniversary! Personnel is really amazing and can help you in any situation. Room was very clean and soundproof. Parking was little bit expensive (15 eur. per day) but it’s still ok. Location also was very nice and convenient.

Cons: Shower water goes out to the room
7.0 Good
Pros: Nice cafe, and The agents were very courteous.
Cons: Rooms lack privacy, location was hard to find, sink did not drain.
5.7 Okay
Pros: Staff was friendly. But it was not a good location unless you want to attend something at the Velodrome. No parking available. They said it was "sold out". Huh?? Bed was comfy. Room service food was horrible.
Cons: See above.
5.8 Okay
Pros: I booked it as it was extremely close to our trip objective and this was the only good thing... aaa.. and some of the staff was really nice trying to compensate... still, if possible, I'll avoid Marriott as a chain in the future... after such a "surprising" experience...
Cons: The last few years I've travelled a bit and this was the first hotel to claim the full payment at booking without option for at least partial refund in case of cancellation ... Initially they even cancelled my booking as they had "issues" with my card, the same used for re-booking though :)... We arrived late, as announced at booking and, athough booked for two adults and a child, the child bed was not made, no sheets, no towels for the kid - nothing - completely overlooked. The staff came with sheets and made the bed but forgot the towels and I did not even asked again -I was really expecting a different level of service. Then, the requested parking was also overlooked and I had to claim it - also it is across the street from the hotel, making it awkward to get kid's towel, among other stuff from the car in the middle of the night.
5.5 Okay
Pros: Clean hotel, great location!
Cons: Staff were rude and unaccommodating! Refused to even put on the TV in the bar area. So basically had a drink in silence. The room size was very small. Although I booked the same room as a friend and she had a larger room. I guess it’s almost like playing the jackpot ... you might just be in luck!

8.0 Excellent
Pros: The breakfast was good, my friend is gluten intolerant and we stayed for 3 days, there were so many options for her which was really good.
Cons: Something to say is that the first day there were 2 types of bread in front of the toaster (white and brown) the white one was the Gluten free one.. the second day the gluten free tag was put on the brown bread and seems it was incorrectly tagged and my friend felt bad that day... the third day there was no tag.... Please take care with the tags.... They say there is parking but its not true, they have a discount fare with the parking just behind the building but the discount is really low and 24h cost 18€.... They say that in front of the entrance of the hotel you cannot park for more than 30 minutes, but there is clearly people who parks there for an entire night...

8.8 Excellent
Pros: The staff was excellent!! The room was comfortable and nice.
Cons: Breakfast was not included and it was very unfair....
2.0 Mediocre
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Nice, simple rooms. Great AC. Wonderful pool.
Cons: The shower. There’s no door so the floor always got soaked.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Emphasis on local products, the products in the bathroom and beers at the bar. The hotel looks very good with the art on display. Rooms were very comfortable and kept at a good temperature.
Cons: Breakfast was too expensive, more vegan options would have been appreciated. Dinner at the hotel restaurant could have been better for the price paid, having dinner outside was lovely but flowers on the tables/candles would have made it special. Dirty paddling pool next to swimming pool.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Location! Spacious lobby, full of light and modern art. Nice pool. Friendly staff at the front desk.
Cons: View from the window, no balcony. The price for parking is very high!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Early check in, the pool was great, the bar was great, room was very clean, staff were friendly. Close to the beach and ten minute walk to the pubs/restaurants. If you stay here you will be happy. Good pillows, comfy bed.

5.5 Okay
Pros: far from the main station but very close to the port common area is very well organized and big
Cons: the whole building’s under construction so it was hard to find AC BARELY WORKING the room was hot no personal light by the bed electronic code is very far from the bed a lot of hair from the bed sheet
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Good location, there is a large supermarket nearby。
Cons: Room wifi signal is not good, can not access the Internet。
6.3 Good
Pros: Roomy and seating areas were not too bad. There were plenty of baguettes for breakfast and a choice of tea or coffee.
Cons: Too many stirs to get to my dorm and bed. There were no tea towels and not enough washing up liquid and sponges to wipe dishes in the kitchen. The wall powerpoints didn't produce enough electricity, or even work, in my room. I plugged in my laptop but the battery soon died. Scaffolding and narrow sidewalks outside the hostel annoying and locating the entrance is easily missed.
7.0 Good
Pros: Location, friendly staff, bed confortable
Cons: Bathroom not very clean, only one bathroom and no bath in the hallway, no soap for washing hands in the bathroom, not enough space to hang our stuff in the room. Need one lamp for each bed.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Ideal location, ideal stuff.
Cons: Everything was just great.
6.3 Good
Pros: Location. Cleanliness
Cons: Internet only in the common rooms. Breakfast could start at 7am instead of 8am because if you have to join tours or travel in the morning you need to have breakfast early.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Very central and nice hostel, clean rooms, fair breakfast, helpful staff
7.5 Good
Pros: The staff was amazing. They were so friendly and more than helpful.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: I loved the atmosphere, the other hostel guests come from all walks of life and I made great friends. Breakfast time is great for socializing and meeting people to go sightseeing together.
Cons: There are people living above the hostel who can be very angry and throw eggs. It's understandable that they must find it noisy but there is a hostel full of people...
8.3 Excellent
Pros: I came back to stay here again because this was the cheapest option I had in Marseille. Location is awesome, right by the picturesque port and takes a few bus stops to go the beaches, which I enjoyed very much. The metro subway station(Metro Vieux Port) is quite near, too. Kitchen accessibility is a bit limited because it´s so small two stoves for too many ppl but enough to make simple meals. This hostel has two areas, one main building and the annex one. So they have got two kitchens and lounges to choose. I like the lounge in the annex one better because it´s spacious. The front desk lady remembered my face when I came back so it was rather impressive, I liked it. Although everything is quite more expensive in this city, you can try a cheap&good pizza place (called Pizza Capri) near the area.
Cons: I think the price is a bit overrated but it´s due to the city´s average high expenses, i guess...

9.5 Excellent
Pros: Property is lovely and it had everything we needed. Rooms are quite big and roomy. Tram outside takes you to the Old Port and you have two shopping centres close by which you can walk to. Not many restaurants close by to get dinner.

7.5 Good
Pros: The apartment was on the street side. Bed sheets were clean. The personnel was nice.
Cons: There was a bad smell on the hotel halls. Our apartment wasn't clean enough. Doors, cabinet doors, bathroom could be better cleaned. There were broken things in the apartment. The neighbourhood is not nice at all and did not feel safe.

Pros: Great location. A comfortable bed. Really easy to cook for 2. The staff were friendly and polite. It was clean.
Cons: There wasn't anything we didn't like.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: It's new, purpose built, close to the Station, one stop on the M1 metro line next to a Metro stop and a short walk to the old port with all its restaurants. It's an apartment hotel so don't expect every hotel facility but we had a lot of room for the money and I'd stay again. Good shower separate toilet and air conditioning. We booked late but got a good price and a balcony, There's a Supermarket st the bottom of the road, what's not to like?
Cons: What's not to like, this is a budget chain in a cosmopolitan city with big city issues but if you know your way around a city be sensible stick to main thoroughfares and enjoy the restaurants and beaches

9.5 Excellent
Pros: The breakfast was good. The location was in the center of Marseille close to everything. Easy access by car. Private parking was provided - nice to avoid parking in the crowded streets. The room was clean and modern.
Cons: Located near the train station which is a bit of a shady area. Gives you a bit of an unpleasant walk through the city, when you need to go home during the night.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Very close to the station and very good breakfast! They gave us a nice view!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Straight across road from train station and supermarket right next door. About 15 min to Marseille Harbour
6.8 Good
Pros: Breakfast was great. Staff was friendly. They stored our food in their fridge.
Cons: Neighborhood was sketchy. Directions given by reception (drawn on map) to Vieux Port got us lost
6.8 Good
Pros: Near station and well kept
Cons: Door lock worn and we actually needed help from staff to enter the room. Also the 100 Euro deposit is still held 2 nights after leaving. The reception staff said they could clear it after we checked out if they approved the room was ok before we left - if we ‘needed the money’. Hardly the point. I am sure the corporate centre will enjoy the interest from us and their other guests.
1.0 Poor
Pros: Deputy Managef was very nice enough to acknowledge our complaint about their food , quality and labeling, in their bar and the attitude of one female staff re my questioning .. most things
Cons: Most things except the location.
3.8 Mediocre
Pros: Location OK but very Noisy during the night
Cons: Air con was not working and hot water in shower not available. Poor bed quality
9.5 Excellent
Pros: The cleanliness of the room and superb location. Free breakfast is a plus.
Cons: No fridge and air conditioner is very noisy
5.0 Okay
Pros: Good if travelling by train as it is just in front of the railway station.
Cons: Dirty stained carpet on the floor. Room had a bad smell of sweaty feet and we could not change it. Although there was a window in the room it was not taken care to be refreshed. We kept it open for few hours to get fresh air.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The room was modern, clean and a really generous size with fabulous view over Marseille. Location was great for us as only stopping over on our way home and was directly opposite the train station. Staff were really friendly and breakfast was excellent with plenty of choice.
Cons: No issue with the hotel itself but if you needed to go out for an evening meal you were away from the nice restaurants around the harbour and the walk back at night could be a concern to some. The hotel though sells light snacks and had a lovely garden terrace to enjoy a drink or two.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Location
Cons: No refrigerator

Pros: Very comfortable, large rooms with good air-conditioning. Great location, very friendly staff. Good bar which also serves food which was surprisingly good. Great breakfast. Excellent gym. Wonderful stay in all.
Cons: The view from my room. But higher floors may have a better view.
7.5 Good
Pros: Good location great breakfast very comfortable bed
Cons: The aircon was too cold at breakfast
6.8 Good
Cons: Mosquıtos everywhere. They did not warn us about mosquıtos and we open the window. At least 10 mosquıtos bited us ( especially my little daughter). There must be a warning on the windows for the mosquıtos. And there must be a net as a protection.
9.3 Excellent
Cons: That the internet was not working and the staff recommended a restaurant for boullubais that was closed
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Spotless room and air conditioning
Cons: Although it's very near the vieux port, the neighbourhood is decadent and pretty dead at night. The fitness gym is a very small room with and treadmill and a broken weight machine.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Very friendly reception staff, efficient and fast check in. Got a room on the 11th floor with great views to the Old Port and Notre Dame Church. Hotel is ideally located in walking distance of the old port. The rooms were quite. I will be regularly in Marseille for Business and this is and will be my favorite place to stay.
Cons: for working in the room the tables are just a bit small. I managed and it is not a "show-stopper" but having them just a little bit bigger would help (at least if you are coming for business). But since the rest is all great I could live with it without a problem.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The reception staff were very pleasant and helpful , the hotel is in a great location near the old port. Rooms were spacious and clean , would definitely book again .
7.5 Good
Pros: Room spacious and clean
Cons: Breakfast was late
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Location is excellent but car park is not easy. If we didn't have a car, it would've been kind of perfect.
5.8 Okay
Pros: The attitude of the staff is reasonable, decent, the hotel is in a good location
Cons: Broken air conditioner, in the hottest time in France, living in such a room is torture, inhuman, and there is no room to replace, until the second day is repaired,The cruel experience has become psychological shadow, I dont know how I got through that night. At the same time, there were flies in the lobby, so that I lost a shelter. On the other hand, breakfast is not decent,There was no sausage at 8:30, the bacon was already heated like the shrub came from the hel.lAnd no replacement or supplement

Pros: just the location nothing else!
Cons: The location was great, the room was clean but very very small! the breakfast was very very poor, with no fresh food and no choice of salty food. they say that the breakfast starts from 4 am,but we were 2 times early in the morning and we didn't found eggs or bacon or any other salty food! there were just some sweet pastries from the day before!!!

Pros: It has a good location being near the train station and a 10 minute walk from le vieux port. Breakfast was quite nice.
Cons: The room was very small, with no place to put our luggage, and the bathroom was even smaller. The personnel was not the best when we arribe and along the whole stay. Some didn’t even speak english nor spanish, and most of they were not very clear about some things.
