Hotel Strand Cafe Meersburg - Meersburg - Bar
1
9.2 Excellent (232 reviews)
C$ 186+
Overview Reviews
Serving delicious Baden cuisine, this family-run, non-smoking hotel enjoys a scenic location in Meersburg’s old quarter, directly on the promenade along the banks of Lake Constance. The Hotel Strand Café’s restaurant prides itself on its regional specialities, fresh fish creations, and fine local wines. In fine weather, lean back and relax on the cosy terrace overlooking the lake. Start your day with a freshly prepared buffet breakfast in the breakfast room or on the sunny terrace facing the sea. Unwind in the Strand Café’s comfortable rooms, which feature attractive wooden furniture and modern en-suite facilities. The hotel provides a convenient base for activities including diving, cycling, and golf. Alternatively, explore attractions such as the flower island of Mainau, the Salem Affenberg (monkey enclosure), and the Waldburg castle.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Hostess was wonderful - made an English speaking guest very welcome. Breakfast superb - great selections, delicious food and beverages. Book early and ask for a lakeside room
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The staff was extremely helpful and even prepared breakfast for us outside since the weather was lovely. The room was tidy and comfortable. Great value for money! We would stay there again, anytime.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: The location is fabulous! Just a stone's throw away from the ferry terminals. The hotel is old and has been nicely renovated. Do note, there are no lifts - so this is not suitable with people who have mobility issues. We stayed in a studio with a balcony onto the interior yards of other hotels and views of the castle and palace on the mountains. The studio is spacious and even has a walk in wardrobe. The bathroom was comfortable and beautiful. The staff are very friendly and will go out of their way to make you feel happy. Wifi is available for multiple devices. You get a guest card upon arrival which gives you some discounts to local attractions. The staff will even post your postcards for you :) Breakfast is typical for the region, so if you have any special dietary requirements, you will need to bring some of your own things (like I did, as I am vegan). You can also request coffee and tea made the way that you prefer. I recommend a visit to the Konstanz weekly produce market for some fresh fruit and berries, as well as Alnatura in Konstanz so you can supplement the breakfast with what you like. A really neat thing is that the breakfast bar at the hotel has a juicer - so you can squeeze your own juice from the carrots and apples they provide :)
Cons: When I booked the room, I selected it because it had a kitchen in the photos. However, upon arrival, I was informed that the kitchen does not function and was not on the list of facilities - which left me a little baffled, as I could not understand why they would include a photo of the kitchen on the website. After my initial disappointment, the staff offered some cutlery and plates so that I could still create some meals for myself, albeit cold ones. There is no kettle in the room, however the staff offered to fill up a thermos - so that is what we ended up doing for 5 nights - a staff member would fill up a thermos for us and take it up to our room before they left (they finish their shift at 6pm, after that there is no service) while we were still out exploring.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: The lovely large room, balcony and views over the promenade. The large bathroom, hallway, 2 sets of patio doors and 2 other window with side aspect. The breakfast and breakfast room. The staff.
Cons: The restaurant closing at 1830 hours so we couldn't eat an evening meal there. The trees on the promenade covered a bit too much of the lake view. The lights on the balcony didn't work due to them attracting insects although candles were provided instead.
9.2 Excellent
Cons: The room and bathroom were small, however cozy.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Meersburg is a beautiful little place and the hotel is right on the lake, the owners are friendly, and speak good english. Breakfasst and food was good! I really enjoyed my stay there
Cons: Nothing
9.6 Excellent
Pros: The views from our room on the top floor were uninterrupted and amazing, we could watch the boats coming in and out. Comfy bed, large modern bathroom.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Wonderful place to stay. They can't do enough for you. A great buffet breakfast. It's perfectly located near to the boats and on the sea front.
Cons: Nothing

8.8 Excellent
Pros: Staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. After my first 2 nights, they noticed on their own that I was not going to breakfast (I had to leave for work earlier than their breakfast started) and after that, each morning they had prepared a sack lunch for me to take with me on my way out at 7 am.
7.1 Good
Pros: The catering (breakfast & dinner) was excellent - it is an asset!
Cons: We had suite on the ground floor (garden side) with a very small/poor view on the lake (hidden by the trees/building) - poor privacy on the window at the garden side.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The location. Nice view of the lake from the room. Welcome drinks, snacks and fruits.
7.5 Good
Pros: very good braekfast. Sad cleaning room. waderfull view
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The space inside and the large terrace Lovely garden view with small lake view
Cons: The towels were too small without pile and more suited to summer months. I would have liked bigger fluffier towels and ditto with the bathrobe.

Cons: Wifi connection was very poor.
Hotel Villa Seeschau - Meersburg - Building

9.0 Excellent (510 reviews)
C$ 236+
Overview Reviews
With a stay at Hotel Villa Seeschau in Meersburg, you'll be within a 15-minute drive of Affenberg and Meersburg New Palace. Featured amenities include complimentary newspapers in the lobby, a 24-hour front desk, and luggage storage. Free self parking is available onsite.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Very friendly welcome and good information on arrival. Great Breakfasts and much appreciated tea/coffee and cake available in the afternoon Perfect location - quiet, close to town even if there are a few steps to deal with as the town is on a steep hill - wonderful views of the lake and town.
Cons: Music in the dining area - too musak like for my taste and didn't add to the atmosphere. Being informed in room blurb that I had to be out of the room from 10.30 to 14.00 nfor cleaning seemed a little officious. Think parking fee is a bit much given the price of rooms
9.2 Excellent
Pros: breakfast was excellent
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Gorgeous place, great location, wonderful staff
Cons: I did not realize I had to check out in cash.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: We stayed in the Grand Suite which was amazing. The bathtub was nice and big and we tried the sauna out once. The wine/beer fridge in suite was also handy, as long as you pay attention to what bottle costs what =) Italian place 5 min walk away.
Cons: The patio off of the Grand Suite is literally right below the breakfast area so you kind of feel like you're on display if you go out in the morning. And the shower seemed a bit larger in the pictures ;) There's not a ton to DO around Meersburg (Mainau was nice) but that wasn't really a concern of ours.
3.8 Mediocre
Pros: Clean attractive rooms with good shower. Junior Suites disproportionately stunning and huge, with a free standing tub. Cooked eggs available at breakfast, also a Glass of local Secco. Nice lake views, vines outside our window and a refreshingly cold hot tub in the garden.
Cons: Property managed amateurs who seem unaware of the basics of professional hospitality. Baking hot when we visited. No air conditioning. No electric fans (even though we requested them in advance, in writing). Only one part time member of staff speaks any English. The rest just talk at you in German even if you are not fluent in the language. Mosquito infestation with no solution offered (no plug-ins, no spray). No staff in evidence outside of breakfast/check-in and short checkout window. Honesty bar with no ice. Terrible pillows.
7.1 Good
Pros: The location was good and view of Lake Constance great. Nice reception and breakfast area, good indoor parking at a cost. Clean and good size room.
Cons: We stayed 3 days with a daily cost of more than € 300. It was no AC or fan in the room, no fridge, reception not in service after 19:00, no restaurant or bar. No accept of credit cards, all in all it’s a nice B & B. So value for money not ok and we expected more...
5.4 Okay
Pros: Great breakfast, super nice & romantic views and a very good and quiet location on top of the hill in Meersburg. The "grandma" who welcomed us was extremely friendly and supportive.
Cons: The price was way too high for such a hotel. There was no complimentary water on the room which I surely expect at such high room charge (i.e. most 5* hotels offer free water and charge less for their rooms). The room was very small. The parking was charged extra and we had to pay the parking charge in cash (no credit cards allowed).
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Clean, white and elegant. Great views, great breakfast and lovely grounds.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Amazing location in the hilly wineyard above the lake with magnificent views.
Cons: Minor issues with wifi.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Luxurious quiet B&B with lovely view from breakfast room Nice sitting area outside bedroom Comfortable bed Excellent breakfast
Cons: No kettle for making drinks in the room Reception staff at check in not able to explain in English No airco in room Payment in cash only - this is neither appropriate or convenient in a midern luwury type hotel clearly targeting guests with means Having to pay to park our car on the outsides xarpark that is no more secure than the street
Gästehaus Sommertal - Meersburg - Building
4
9.0 Excellent (370 reviews)
C$ 98+
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Location
Cons: Nothing ideal place as a base and to go out and explore
9.6 Excellent
Pros: We rented an apartment studio in the basement, and it was very formidable! There is a small kitchen are well-equipped so we can cook the meal simple. However there was no microwave. The bed was comfy, and the bathroom was very clean. Internet worked well, but was limited during certain hours (no internet from 11PM - 7AM), which was no problem for us Parking was easy to access. The are was very calm and quiet. It takes abouth 5-7 minutes to walk to the centrl town and the lake All in all, we were very pleased and highly recommend !
Cons: Would be nice if there was a microwave. But nothing to complain otherwise
9.2 Excellent
Pros: The owner was extremely friendly. We liked room equipment: full kitchen with dish and consumables. interesting bathroom. The room was clean in deed. The hotel was good located just 2 minute from the public places. the nearest supermarket was 2 min walk and FLIXBUS stop 5 min walk.
Cons: 'The room in the basement' was in the cellar in deed. So I was a bit worry to sleep on the same level as a grave :)
9.5 Excellent
Pros: More or less everything : location , facilities including a swimming pool , self-contained kitchenette etc.
Cons: Walking direction to the premise was a little confusing for us
9.2 Excellent
Pros: - Owner is super friendly, knowledgeable & ever so helpful :) - Location is perfect: nestled at the base of a vineyard (picturesque!), off the noisy main road, just a short 5min walk to the beautiful old town, plus little grocery store (edeka) 3min walk away - Pictures of the room are super accurate - Amenities provided were as promised, everything worked :) They even had a little pantry stocked with chips, snacks & drinks at the lobby just in case anyone wanted something - Room was warm, bright & comfortable — not bad for a basement room! - Loved the spacious toilet :)
Cons: - Beds were very... squishy. My husband has a bad back and couldn’t sleep on the bed because it was not firm (absolutely no back support whatsoever). The moment you climb into bed, you sink into the mattress. We realised that the problem was not the mattresses; but the bed frames — because the top of the bed frames were soft (like a hammock), the mattress sank wherever weight was placed on it. - Carpet on which the beds were placed is dusty. My allergies started flaring up. BUT other than that, the room was pretty clean :)
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Perfect for what we wanted
Cons: Everything was good
9.6 Excellent
Pros: I liked the quitness & all facilities provided at the property are really useful
Cons: The lighting was not enough at the room and there was no AC.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything was great. You can reach it with the bus and there is everything you may need near to it.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Room very clean and decorated to a very high standard. Quiet location. Staff very friendly, efficient, helpful. Great choice for breakfast. The type of hotel you would be happy to find in every city!
Cons: Pillows provided insufficient support for sleeping.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: I cannot fault this hotel - we had a wonderful stay. We had an issue with our travel arrangements and the owners could not have helped more. We so appreciated their support and calmness! Breakfast was perfect and the hotel is absolutely spotless.
Cons: Nothing -I can only say positives about this hotel.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: The staff and everything else
Cons: Nothing
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Charming historic hotel, in the old town, great location! All the staff were extremely welcoming and very hospitable. The breakfast buffet was excellent, with a great range of hot and cold dishes and local dishes as well. Large and comfortable bedrooms with modern bathrooms. Easy stroll to the sights in the old town and the lake and to the many great restaurants around the old town. Parking is available on request and worth it.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Nice place Nice building Perfect check-in /we obtain all useful information -accommodation, wifi, car parking, local transport, etc.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Perfect location, nice hotel.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Hotel is in a great location. Beautiful old house, very clean and comfortable rooms. Staff very helpful.
9.6 Excellent
Cons: Freshly squeezed orange juice for breakfast and the scrambled eggs were dry towards the end of breakfast time
9.6 Excellent
Pros: From start to finish the Hotel management and staff were so friendly and nothing was too much trouble. Everyone spoke excellent English with us and when one of our group injured her finger in a restaurant the lady on reception was most helpful in providing a suitable dressing. The rooms are all individually decorated and furnished and spotlessly clean and fresh. Complimentary drinks in the fridge were a lovely touch. Although two of our three rooms were not air conditioned, we were given large fans which worked well. The beds are large and very comfy and we had a great night‘s sleep. A lovely breakfast is served in the elegant ‚Stuben‘ . The hotel is easy to find right at the top of this beautiful town amongst the historic buidings. The walk down to the lake promenade with our parents in their 80‘s took about 15 minutes and the very steep walk back up was a little slower but pleasant. If the hill is a problem there are plenty of restaurants in the upper part of town just a few meters away instead or alternatively the complimentary town shuttlebus takes you from the lake to the hotel. We really loved our stay and would highly recommend the hotel to couples or families.
Cons: As is often the case outside the uk, there is no kettle in the room but quite honestly the complimentary drinks compensated nicely.
7.9 Good
Pros: Location and the restaurant

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Super friendly people, you can speak english or german with them. Great view if your room is facing the seaside. Everything was awesome and I would stay there again! Although most programs available on the TV are in German, they have CNN and Al Jazeera English. I was super happy to see Al Jazeera because it is a rare find! The food in the restaurant is very good and worth the money. Generous portions, very good customer service. The staff are fast and always check in to ask if you need something and they are happy to oblige! The breakfast from 8-10 was also delicious, typically German, and very fresh. There are some things you should consider depending on how you are. Firstly, it is a historic building therefore you will hear noises outside of your room on occasion. There are no phones in the room, so keep your cell phone handy. The restaurant is top and therefore you should check early so you can make a reservation. If not, maybe you have no place to sit!
Cons: Everything was good for me. I don't have anything bad to say.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Great location right on the water and next to the boat trip pier. Easy walk around the corner to the scenic old city streets, although you must go up a steep hill to get to the old city center. Restaurant very popular, so recommend dinner reservations. Good renovations to make the rooms very comfortable despite the old city closeness.
Cons: Breakfast options were limited, but sufficient, just don’t expect an elaborate spread. You must drive up to the alley to check in, and get a parking pass to take the car back outside the old city to the parking center. There is no reception or lobby, so you must arrive between 1500 and 1800 to check in, otherwise you must go through the restaurant and find someone to help you. You must carry the heavy key around town with you otherwise you won’t be able to get back into the building.
7.4 Good
Pros: Thé view on thé lac
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We liked the location and the room was really comfortable. The breakfast was exceptional, and the staff in the morning were just great.
Cons: Checking in put us off, a little bit. The woman who checked us in, was very busy, and didn’t take time to let us know the WiFi password, so WiFi was unavailable to us that evening, since the staff leaves around 6 for the night. The staff in the morning made up for it, by their friendly demeanor.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Breakfast was extremely delicious. Staff was very friendly and helpful.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Friendly and helpful staff. Great restaurant. Really well situated.
Cons: The only possible misgiving would be lack of AC. The table fan in the room helped a bit, but somewhat hard to sleep even though the window was wide open. (Day temperatures were around 25 degrees.)
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Great location, very friendly staff, happy to accommodate a LATE check-in. Breakfast was wonderful, and definitely more selection than a traditional B&B.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: It is not the first time we are staying in this hotel. It’s clean, location is perfect, service is great and people who work there are very helpful. I also like the food - I consider it to be the best restaurant in Meersburg. In addition to the fresh ingredients, it offers healthy choices, which almost impossible to find around! Amazing place!
8.8 Excellent
Pros: The hotel was definitely beautiful and room facing the lake had a view like no other. The staff was very kind and the breakfast was incredibly delicious!
Cons: We asked to be extended for one more night and they promised to let us know in a few minutes if we could extend. We had to come back down that evening to follow up and they had relocated us to a smaller, unpleasant room.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Breakfast exceeded my expectations. They even cook your eggs anew for no extra charge and provided the best selection of jams. The furnishing was mostly IKEA but in chosen in good taste and the sheets were in good condition and comfortable. High ceiling makes the room feel far more spacious and airy than it actually is. The bathroom looked like it had been recently renovated too. But the best thing about this hotel was the view that gives you a clear outline of Alps over the Bordensee in the early morning and a perfect sunset in the evening, so be sure to get a lake view room if you can. Also, we were just planning to go to Constance but just beyond the hotel is the very charming town of Meersburg that overlooks the lake and takes about two hours max to look around so that was a pleasant surprise.
Cons: The entrance on the side of the building was a little hard to find so I first thought I was in the wrong place. It's a very small hotel that runs on few staff members so don't expect a lobby or reception, but what staff they have were all very helpful and warm. Like I said, the furnishing are IKEA quality, and towels were rather old and jagged around the edges. Is this a German thing? I've never seen this in any other stays around the world but experienced it in Germany repeatedly. I guess it's better for the environment but it does remind you that you are using a towel that many hundreds, possibly thousands of people used before you.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: The most important element of our entire weekend experience was the friendliness and helpfulness of the staff. All of the staff! We felt as though we were guests at a friend's place vs. being at a tourist hotel. I wonder how they maintain this attitude. The restaurant was excellent, and the service outstanding.

8.3 Excellent
Pros: The room was very large, and more like a small studio apartment. There was a small kitchenette, table and chairs, sofa (which was used as a sofa bed), bathroom. More than enough space for us. We arrived on the late side, and the man at reception moved his car so we could park close to our room, which was very nice. The breakfast was amazing - so many different fresh fruits and breads, an incredible selection of juices, eggs made to order, yogurts and various muesli/granola, jams and spreads. The staff was also very friendly and helpful. That was by far my favorite part. The hotel is outside of Meersburg, uphill, but not as far as I'd feared - it's quite walkable. In fact, public parking in Meersburg seemed to largely consist of lots outside of the main town, so it's no farther, from what I could tell, than the public parking lots. There's a small grocery store on the way up the hill, and an Italian restaurant or two (we didn't go to any of these, but we saw them). I think the walk is even shorter when a pedestrian path right behind the hotel is open, but it was closed for repair when we were there.
Cons: The room felt kind of worn and old - very clean, but not updated. The sofa bed was probably the least comfortable of the ones we had in 10 hotels in Germany (though fine for our 5 year old). The bathroom was a decent size but had very little space to store toiletries compared to other German hotels (but had a little basket of amenities). The room we had opened onto the parking lot so the entrance way felt a bit odd. They left the windows open (seems a common practice in Germany) and we had a few mosquitoes in the room. We got there a bit late - I think maybe 8:30-9pm - and it took a while after buzzing in to get someone to come open the door for us, but he was very friendly and helpful with check-in once he arrived.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: The hotel is situated not far from the center but with an excellent view on the Lake. The hotel is family owned and has a very sympatethic atmophere. Breakfast was with excellent choice. I adore the fresh fruit Buffet. Boiled eggs with specific cooking time are available.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: The breakfast buffet is excellent, the staff very attentive, friendly and well organized. Also the sauna, steamroom area is inviting, clean and was impeccably ready for us after the walk in the cold.
Cons: The wifi reception in the room (21, not in the main building) was quite poor. The view is not great from that room either, although that might be better in summer, when the pool is in use. In all its a spacious room, albeit a bit dark.
7.1 Good
Pros: 5 minutes walk to the market place and church
Cons: Towel in the bathroom too old
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Very friendly and helpful staff. The receptionist provided all information needed to go around, very cooperative. Nice and clean room with a comfy bed. The gym is great, many equipment. The breakfast buffet is delicious.

Pros: Beautiful, sparkling clean room with a view of the lake and town. Excellent breakfast and very nice staff!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Friendly staff and good location
7.5 Good
Pros: Clean, spacious room with interesting and tall ceiling features with wooden beams, very quiet and peaceful outside, sheep next door, nice chandelier, fantastic breakfast with great cheese and fresh fruit / berry selection, hardwood floor instead of tiles or carpet, free parking
Cons: Bedding needs serious work, especially the pillows. Way too soft and synthetic. Also double is two beds which takes away from romance. Internet seemed quite slow at times but was ok. Toiletries quite basic with shower, conditioner and body wash all in one which was also empty
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Excellent location, good breakfast, friendly staff. Plenty of space for 2 adults + 2 children with fully equipped kitchen in the “economy double room”.
Cons: Weak wifi access in the room (mini-apartment on the premises) which wouldn’t normally be an issue except that there’s very bad cellular data connection all over Meersburg.

Pros: Excellent location right on shore of Lake Konstanz, wide variety of food options at breakfast, clean, staff friendly.
Cons: Room very stuffy even with fan provided for warm weather, pillow very unsupportive for sleeping. No option for secure luggage storage, receptionist suggested leaving bag in open reception area all day (not even behind desk but in open area near door).
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Great location, friendly staff, very good breakfast. The room had everything I needed.
Cons: The place needs remodeling - the room looked tired. However, for a short stay I had no complaints.

Pros: Very quiet, a nice garden with a possibility to sit outside. The rooms are spacious, clean and well fitted. The staff are very friendly and helpful.
Cons: It's a bit far to walk to the city centre (around 2 km), and it's uphill on the way back. But there are buses that you can use for free with your hotel registration slip. The staff at the reception explain how it works and provide timetables.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Extremely comfortable and clean hotel just outside Meersburg. We had a beautiful double aspect room with balcony. The owners were very helpful with local information and bookings. Fabulous breakfasts.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: I really enjoyed staying in this hotel. Room was clean every day!
Cons: I liked everything
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The fixtures, fittings and cleanliness were all of an exceptional high standard. The breakfast buffet was also first class. The owners were very friendly and helpful and would totally recommend this accommodation.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Warm and friendly welcome with informative and enthusiastic host. The hotel was immaculate everything we needed for our four nights. Extremely comfortable and very quiet. The free pass for the bus was a bonus. Meersburg itself was a beautiful town, very clean with lots of good restaurants bars and shops. But one must try out the bakeries for excellent coffee, sandwiches/rolls and of course delicious pastries. We took the boat to Konstanz and from there the bus to Mainau Island which is pricey to enter but could spend all day there especially with children... look it up ! Meersburg also has a beautiful beach/lido which we enjoyed so this Hotel was perfect for us.
Cons: Nothing... everything was perfect for us.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The staff were very helpful and obliging. The decor of the hotel was very tastefully designed. It was a very restful location a short distance from the old town. We would like to return.
Cons: No English speaking TV programmes

Cons: Parking situation is not well advertised (nothing in town centre) - drop luggage off and then park (500-800m away) and walk back.
7.9 Good
Pros: Fabulous location and good value for money.
Cons: Needs a full length mirror in the bedroom and a bin in the bathroom.
7.1 Good
Pros: The building was nice as was the breakfast. The staff was nice as well.
Cons: The room faced the back alley which didn't provide fresh air...it didn't smell good in the room. The room was dark and noisy as it was right above the restaurant kitchen. The trash cans were under the window. The room itself had everything I needd just the location in the house was bad. The bed could use a new mattress.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Family run, beautiful old traditional timbered building with friendly efficient staff and lovely dining room.
Cons: Nothing
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Location, building itself, bathroom, breakfast, staff, restaurant....
Cons: Sound proofing wasn’t great, but to be expected in such an old building. It was nothing major, but ear buds would be recommended for lighter sleepers
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Perfect hotel in a perfect location! Rooms were great and the staff were beyond amazing! There was a horrible heat wave and being in the 3rd floor it was HOT at night. The front desk staff lent us the fan from the front desk at night so we could have some relief from the heat. Impeccable hospitality!!! Would recommend this place a million times. Thank you for an amazing stay!!
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Staff was very friendly, rooms were big and cosy although a bit too warm due to no air-con and super hot weather. Breakfast very basic but very nice. Hotel accommodated pets extremely well and for price no hotel this far had offered (5EUR/night). Location great, parking organized well. Overall, great experience.

9.2 Excellent
Pros: Cosy small room with a great breakfast!
Cons: -
4.6 Okay
Pros: It was clean
Cons: Tiny uncomfortable bad mattress no availability of staff to speak to as reception in the building across the street . Very bad
8.8 Excellent
Pros: In lower old town within walking distance to all attractions and restaurants . Car parking next to property.
Cons: Small room even smaller bathroom.
5.4 Okay
Cons: Room is too small.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Great location, parking a bonus, view of the lake (room 206), lovely helpful staff. Breakfast was nice too, a 2 min walk away, but worth it, nice stroll inthe morning. The themed rooms were fun, would stay here again.
Cons: Double bed was two singles with a big gap (seperated by wooden bed surrounds) so no snuggling!
5.8 Okay
Pros: Breakfast is good. The room facing the lake is blocked by other building in front of the room, one can only see through the gap between the building in front of the room. The view is not great at all.
5.0 Okay
Pros: Quirky. Great central location
Cons: Check in instructions on web site were completely wrong (wrong building). No air con.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: The location
7.9 Good
Pros: The location was fantastic in a great location next to everything. The rooms were clean and well decorated. The staff was very friendly and accommodating.
Cons: Only one of the two rooms we reserved were available so the hotel staff had to move my in-laws to a different hotel. We ended up getting charged the higher rate when it was their mistake and I shouldn’t have gotten charged more for their mistake. Also, this hotel has no elevator so those that have a hard time with stairs beware!

6.3 Good
Pros: Very good location. Rich breackfast.
Cons: Very small and too warm room at the roof. Breakfast is not so close to the hotel and if you want to use the golf car you will pay at the end 4€ per day even if you have used it only once. Parking is also around 1km far, close to the hotel they have few places but were full. Parking fee is 12 € per day. Very noisy from early morning till late in the night.
6.7 Good
Pros: Location is perfect to enjoy the city and the lake, only problem is with parking spaces, but that is a problem of the city not the hotel. Breakfast was awesome, although you need to go to the other part of Old City to enjoy it.
Cons: I have an extra charge in my credit card that according to them they didn't do despite bank statement says so clearly. I have been trying to get a refund for a week, looks like not even booking.com can sort this out. For those with heavy luggage, please note that there is no elevator in the building. Breakfast is served in a restaurant on the other side of the Old City, not too far from hotel, but it came as a surprise to us that was not served in the same building
7.9 Good
Pros: Central location, Quiet room overlooking courtyard. Safe storage for bicycles.
Cons: No lift
9.6 Excellent
Pros: We had rooms looking over the marina. Enjoyed the pretty sunrise. Rooms were comfortable and clean. Owners did their best to communicate with us in English.
Cons: It’s located in a busy area. Breakfast is a short walk to the other end of the main drag.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Great location and had a great view overlooking the harbour. Room nice and comfortable and really clean. Wifi was excellent. Good enough to stream a football match on Sky with no problems! All staff from the front desk to all the cleaners were very welcoming and friendly. Parking was available in a parking garage half a mile away. You need initially to park on the street next to the hotel which is fine for a few minutes to unload car. You collect a ticket from Reception to get you in and out of the garage and yo settle up with Reception before you leave. Loads of place to eat and drink decent food at reasonable price all over Meersburg.
Cons: Bit of a surprise to have to go down the street for breakfast, although it was excellent. Was a 5 minute walk although transport from the hotel via electric buggy was always available. We chose to walk every day and was lovely just walking down the main street so or us it wasn't a problem.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Excellent location
Cons: Room very tiny
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Reception staff were helpful and the room was spotlessly clean. Excellent location for the harbour, ferries and waterfront. The breakfast buffet, although in a restaurant 100m up the street, was plentiful and the choice was excellent.
Cons: No elevator in the Gastehaus. Carrying luggage up 3 storeys is tiresome. Night-time noise from the street can be very loud. No air con or fan for hot summer nights.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Location!
Cons: The ice cream shop below was noisy til late and people smoked which came right into our rooms window
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Location and excellent very reasonably priced breakfast
Cons: When it is really hot like these days and you have to keep the windows open as there is no air-con, then the night is short.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Extremely clean and well kept. Comfortable beds and great location. Great service even after hours.
Cons: There was no air conditioning which is common in Europe, but one of our three rooms didn't have a fan and it was unusually hot outside.

3.8 Mediocre
Pros: Meersburg is lovely, but...
Cons: ... avoid this hotel! In the middle of the night, the fire exit signs lit up in our room - brighter than the normal lights, we couldn't sleep anymore. Worst thing is: there is no one at reception. Even the emergency contact number, no one picks up. This is entirely irresponsible, probably even illegal. And dangerous. We ended up calling the fire brigade, who checked everything and told us there was no fire. But they couldn't do anything about the lights - they also failed to contact the hotel management. We would strongly recommend not to stay in this hotel.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: excellent location, in the heart of the old town (you can even get your park to the hotel's entrance and park it later nearby). room was simple, but clean and comfortable, breakfast was very good
Cons: pay attention that some of the rooms are in a nearby building (20m away) and not in the main building
7.1 Good
Pros: We stayed at another building. The building was kind of old and in need of work on the outside and lobby.
7.9 Good
Pros: Confortable for families. Very nice location in Meersburg. The food was also quite good.
Cons: Parking quite far from the hotel
7.1 Good
Pros: Good location, good breakfast choice
Cons: School group running all over the hotel in the middle of the night and no staff available to resolve . The hotel is overpriced and is justifying it from its location . There is no parking for cars, fourtunely we had room for the motorbikes at the rear of the hotel. A fair amount of traffic noise at the rear and as no AC had to have windows open
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We stayed in a private room (2 adults and 2 children). Our room had a separate bedroom with two twin beds together and a separate room where the kids stayed in bunk beds attached to the wall. The hotel was in a nice location and it was quiet at night. The included breakfast was great. There were a lot of choices, including scrambled eggs, a variety of breads, cereals, fruits, meats, cheeses, etc. The staff went above and beyond to help us get our laundry done (I don't think this service is normally available at the hotel).
Cons: The floor of the shower merged with the bathroom and it had a shower curtain that hung from the ceiling down to about a foot from the floor. This initially caused a problem because taking a shower would basically flood the bathroom. They did have a squeegee on a long pole, so cleanup wasn't difficult. We quickly learned the trick was to run the water at a lower flow volume.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: good location, near lake, can tour this town on foot
Cons: bettet dinner would be better. very sad to leave a pack of chocolate in the hotel
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Great location
Cons: Communication could have been better
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Location Breakfast
Cons: Room was very warm. Fan would be helpful.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Excellent location!
Cons: Small bathroom with no place to put toiletries

Cons: Difficult if you had heavy luggage
5.0 Okay
Pros: Beds are good.
Cons: The room I got was really old fashioned. And has no conditioned air. Bathroom is chaotic and dark. Under the beds it was really dirty. I was informed there are renovated and better rooms. But as I needed a family room unfortunately this is still one of the old ones.

9.2 Excellent
Pros: Location was great, Staff super accommodating!!! Breakfast warm and friendly!
Cons: Beds were a bit hard on the American standard
7.5 Good
Pros: The "Liebe Augustin" is an inn/restaurant renting out a couple of rooms. We had a room under the roof without bathroom, simple but clean. The location is great, right downtown, right on the Bodensee bike trail. The breakfast is great buffet with savoury and sweet options.
Cons: Unfortunately the property does not have a bike storage. We had to store at the public bike parking about 20 m away .. no problem with our bikes not worth much. Friendliness is not a particular strength of the innkeepers.
7.1 Good
Pros: The breakfast and the location.
Cons: The check-in guy wasn't very helpful. The bathrooms were shared by quite a lot of rooms. The parking situation is confusing. It`s overpricedfor what you get.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Small hotel half a block back from the waterfront and close to lots of choices for restaurants and bars. Great breakfast.
Cons: Wifi reception was non existent in third (top) floor room and sometimes patchy downstairs. No lift do be prepared for up to 3 flights of stairs.
