Pros: Emiko and Dorris both made our stay very welcoming. Emiko was very knowledgeable about the area and gave several helpful recommendations for walks. Emiko also has a great collection of whisky's and gave some good recommendations on those too!
Cons: We were unaware that we would be liable to pay for extra log's for the log burner. There were times when the radiators were not on so the log burner was the only way to heat the room. Also on a few occasions the staff had lit the log burner whilst we had been out, ensuring the fire was roaring for our arrival, without us being notified or asking - we thought this was a lovely touch at the time, however on receiving the final bill it was evident that we were paying for this luxury.

Pros: Amazing beautiful location , with luxury accommodation that has been renovated to a very high standard. The dog friendly room was spacious luxurious and spotless, the bar and dinning areas were a cosy, comfy place to enjoy great food and drink after long days out exploring, our Hosts couldnt have been more helpful offering local advise from hiking routes to places to eat and they made our dog Bear feel very welcome too. We will definatley be returning for another stay and will not hesitate to recommend the Wayside and Whisky Barn to anyone looking for an ideal location and luxurious accommodation with great hosts. The owner's were very chatty, friendly, helpful and welcoming. The food was delicious and i would recommend the home made Burger , as well as a great breakfast. Thanks for a Great Holiday

Pros: Room was fabulous, so clean and beautifully presented. Location was amazing for a quiet chilled weekend.

Pros: I told the host, Emiko, it was a surprise birthday trip and we found a lovely bunch of tulips in our room do r the occasion, a very nice touch ❤️ The menu is small but delicious! Lovely veggie curry and a tasty meaty burger on our first night. And home made baked beans with breakfast! But hey, if all you wanted was an egg butter, you’d get one. Emiko’s knowledge of the surrounding area is just amazing, and actually I could listen to her for hours as she told us which routes she liked and which routes where easier than other, as well as which destinations we should visit in our short stay. The beds where also very comfortable and rooms at a nice temperature with obviously opening windows, really lovely place to stay! Sheep in the distance, rolling green hills, you can see the odd waterfall in the hills behind the nearby farm. Honestly pack your boots and book a stay
Cons: The only thing that could have been better was my packing. Was a little windy at times, but this was early February in the west lakes... Everything was spot on.

Pros: Lovely location in a very unspoilt part of the lake district. Plenty of walking nearby and some really beautiful places to visit. We had both breakfast and evening meal which were cooked to order using fresh local sourced ingredients, lovely. We also had the picnic option which was a really useful and tasty addition. Our hosts have really good local knowledge and helped us make the very best of our stay.
Cons: Some road noise from the bedroom as close to the road but after a busy day it certainly didnt keep us awake.
