5.0 Okay
Pros: Breakfast was good although not much on offer, shower in our room didn’t work and the room was extremely hot even with the fan on, we only stayed one night so it was fine for that
Cons: Shower that works!
7.0 Good
Pros: The area the hotel was in was perfect for travelling to other areas
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Ideal for a meet with friends who had booked us into a nearby restaurant. In the early hours my wife was taken ill and had to go to hospital - the staff were brilliant, staying by the front door to let the ambulance crew in and offering as much assistance as possible. Cant thank them enough. Excellent.
4.0 Okay
Pros: Staff were helpful and friendly.
Cons: Dirty shower , large window in bathroom with only a vertical blind covering the plain see through glass looking over a busy crossroads . Room extremely dusty .
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Central location Car park Staff The
Cons: The bed had springs sticking out
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Lovely place, blinds broken and left on windowsill but overall great place. Lovely bar man, made us feel welcome with a 15year old and fab breakfast. Had to drive to Kendal to be able to eat. Would be a good location for walking etc in summer but nothing much to do in winter. Pool table bonus.
9.0 Excellent
Pros: The location in the centre of the village was great, it’s only a short car ride and your in the Lake District, the hotel staff were friendly and helpful and our room was huge, especially the en-suite, breakfast was good.
Cons: Unfortunately there was no bar food available but it’s only a temporary situation until the new chef arrives
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The staff were fantastic, we had the cottage at the back of the property, I was worried at 1st due to its location as you had to go through the beer garden at the back and we were overlooking this. There was no noise in the evening and we had a great night's sleep. We ate in the pub in the evening which had a real cosy feeling to it. My husband and father-in-law were delighted that they had a full size snooker table and spent the evening playing snooker. Had plenty of choice for breakfast and was served very quickly. Overall a very pleasant stay.
Cons: At the top of the stairs in the cottage, no light was working and couldn't find a switch for it, maybe a sticker or something to let people know.

Cons: No evening meal

Pros: I love the staff and the place is amazing! So peaceful. Been here 4 times now and will keep going
Cons: Not much really it’s all lovely!
4.0 Okay
Pros: Staff were still friendly and its not their fault its head office that should be sorting it and communicating better with frontline staff rather then throwing them upcreek without a paddle.
Cons: I just thought with the lack of facilities available we should of received a partial refund or given discount vouchers for another time. We werent offered anything yet similar companies are doing so for their clients.

Pros: Location
Cons: No hand sanitizer in the cottage

Pros: Loved the clean well equipped apt although toaster didn’t work
Cons: The mattress was not good quality and really needs attention didn’t sleep at all well or a memory topper... but will visit again I’ll bring one!
7.1 Good
Pros: Beautiful location. Scenic views and spotlessly clean apartment
Cons: The radiators were on an external timer. They did not come on at all. We had no heat and limited hot water. It was a cold rainy weekend and we had to put the gas hob on to keep warm. This totally ruined our stay, which is a shame because it is a wonderful location.
1.0 Poor
Pros: Nothing
Cons: It was very dangerous. The electric meter down there is easily accessible for children. This is totally unsafe And No receptions phone

6.3 Good
Pros: Swimming pool and spa were pleasant and I really appreciated the cosy fire in the bar. Bed was comfy and cosy. The views are lovely.
Cons: Hairs in the bath! Room in general in need of an update with peeling paint at the window and very thin curtains. Bedroom door could only be closed from the outside by slamming it and all doors tended to bang shut making it pretty noisy. Breakfast was adequate but considering the hotel was quiet I think they would have been better to cook things to order rather than leaving about 15 fried eggs under the heat lamps. No choice other than cereal or cooked. No fruit, yoghurt, cold meat which most hotels have these days. Pretty basic and not very good value for money.
6.0 Good
Pros: Following morning went for breakfast which was lovely , then went for a swim in the lesure facility witch was also enjoyable.
Cons: Proberbly just unfortunate but arrived about 7.30pm looking forward to dinner in the restaurant, only to be told the restaurant had closed early due to it being so quiet. We then had to get soaked getting back into the car to find somewhere to eat, so our chilled out evening never happened. Our room looked out across a busy road, not much sleep due to cars and trucks trundling past from around 4.30am onwards.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Food good and staff friendly. Pool and spa excellent. Good value for money
Cons: Could do with rooms updating and not very comfortable. No shower in en-suite even though requested but for price really would struggle to find anywhere better.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Staff friendly and helpful great location, good amenities, very relaxing break
Cons: Good amenities and very helpful staff .
3.0 Mediocre
Cons: No heating in bathroom, very cold and kept me awake Shabby curtains, tiny bed and pool of water on window sill.
6.0 Good
Pros: Easy parking, nice views. Dog friendly-£10 charge. Nice building. There's a pool but we didn't use it. I didn't see anyone use it. The room was large and comfortable. Breakfast was decent- tinned fruit, different cereal, juice, coffee or tea, cooked breakfast and toast (seemed good quality fare). I had full breakfast. Another guest was veggie and got a veggie option. The breakfast server was really nice. This place could be really nice. The reception one receives sets the impression.
Cons: Upon arrival we were told the kitchen was closing (7.30 pm-ish). We mentioned we'd seen a deal on line, after we'd booked with booking.com and paid, that included dinner. It would have meant, from the figures we'd seen and paid, a loss to the hotel of £8, but we'd have bought a few drinks with dinner. The member of staff said the deal isn't on offer to those using booking.com, that the hotel paid enough 20+% to booking.com, that we should book direct (first time we've been, don't know the area well). Our room was nice but noisy, overlooking a main A road. We felt we were treated as second rate guests because we'd booked via booking.com. Why advertise there if you don't welcome custom from there? The place was empty (there was only us and another couple at breakfast). We read in the room info that one will be charged £30 corkage if caught drinking one's own alcohol in the room- one can only buy from the bar. As the bar was deserted and folorn-looking it's not the most inviting place, we didnt go in. I don't think real ale is available-I may be wrong. The place seems to be struggling a bit. We didn't feel very welcome. We drove out and ate and drank elsewhere. No wifi in rooms, only in main public areas.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: The swimming pool, steam room and sauna.
1.0 Poor
Pros: Absolutely no positives
Cons: The worst hotel I have stayed at, mould in the room, no wifi and the TV didn't work. The worst customer service I have ever experienced. Tainted our holiday, checked out after 1 night

8.0 Excellent
Pros: Stayed two nights in the main building and found our room to be warm and cosy, all clean and tidy with plenty of hot water and all expected facilities. The internals of the older building are from another era, so expect twists and turns up the stairs.. Breakfast was full and tasty, service was friendly and efficient and parking was useful as there is limited space elsewhere in Arnside. Would happily return and recommend.

Cons: Nothing to report here.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Rooms clean Nice location Manager and staff very friendly Food great and nice bar
Cons: The rooms just missing a few little things like a full length mirror and hair dryer Tv should be opposite the bed not in the corner just little things really For a delux room it’s pretty basic very much like a premiere inn But still enjoyed the stay
3.0 Mediocre
Pros: Evening meal and breakfast very good.
Cons: The trip started badly, I spoke to the duty manager as the evening progressed, and also the manager in the morning.......he comes across as caring but in reality he doesn't care.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Retains “old world” with comfort
1.0 Poor
Pros: The location of the hotel. Pretty central to where we wanted to go and very close to the motorway.
Cons: The cottage was quite dirty. When we told the manager he said he would contact us 3 days later with a response. He never contacted us so we phoned the hotel and was told the manager would ring us back. Still waiting !!!! Also when having a shower the bathroom floor flooded which was then very slippy .

Pros: The welcome from the young man behind the bar was good, sadly as I was alone I was a bit unnerved as quite a bit of swearing by youngsters at the bar. The room was tired but a comfortable bed. Breakfast was amazing, so fresh and hot.
Cons: The room required a redesign and redecoration.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Great village location, ample car park. Warm welcoming pub. Comfortable beds in good sized family room and warm when heating was on. Lovely food, great home cooked menu.Great breakfast . Helpful friendly staff.Handy for M6
Cons: The family room decor was a little dated, bathroom shower screen and bath was stained. Bathroom was cold when heating went off. Furniture had lots of water stains, needed updating Lack of veggie option on menu
3.0 Mediocre
Pros: Location is stunning, dining experience was fabulous.
Cons: Room was like a postage stamp, bathroom was even smaller, bedding was inadequate and the heating seemed to be turned off during the night. The host was rather gruff but the location is amazing, storybook picturesque . However the staff who served dinner were extremely polite and the food was awesome. Breakfast was ok for those who like a cooked breakfast but for anyone who wouldn't give tuppencefor hot food in the morning, the only other options were yogurt and commercial boxed cereal, there was no fruit, pastries or anything else to choose from.

Pros: We have stayed here a few times before. I think there must be new owners now. We were met by the most delightful member of staff who couldn't have been more friendly and helpful. We were given a free upgrade to a delightful superior double with stunning views over the village/churchyard. Very comfortable room, well equipped and nice bathroom.
Cons: There is a very strong smell when you enter the bar - cooking perhaps? To be honest, it was a bit unpleasant and pervaded the downstairs area during our stay; it was especially noticeable in the morning when we were having breakfast. Nothing else to dislike, The Sun Inn is a charming pub/restaurant and B&B. I think the restaurant (when it reopens) could be a little more vegetarian/vegan friendly.

Excellent.
