9.0 Excellent
Pros: Central location, staff went out of their way to make you feel welcome.
Cons: Entry and exit on the road is a little tricky...... but very typical for Japan
7.0 Good
Pros: Onsen
Cons: No shower in the room although rooms are big and could easily be a shower in the hallway
9.0 Excellent
Pros: I stayed here twice this week... the staff are great and made me feel welcome. The property is a little older but this is not of significance. The baths are lovely and welcomed after a day of walking. The half board option ( incl breakfast and dinner) was great value... dinner had 14 different dishes and each was delicious!
Cons: Swapping buildings for dinner, but probably good to have the exercise after the yummy dinner!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Great location and helpful, friendly staff
Cons: Nothing
7.0 Good
Pros: the staff were very helpful when it came to travel information. also they offered pick up service from oboke station upon guests' arrival and shuttle bus from hotel to oboke ship every morning which was rly good. the onsen was surprisingly good when compared to the price.
Cons: i was offered a smoking room but i asked for a non-smoking one. the smoking smell was so strong that i couldn't sleep.
7.0 Good
Pros: The shuttle service to Oboke Station is easy for guests especially those that have big luggages.
Cons: The onsen is located from a different building from our rooms so we need to get down to the lobby to transfer to another lift.

Overview Reviews
With a stay at Hotel Kazurabashi in Miyoshi, you'll be in the mountains, within a 5-minute drive of Iya Kazurabashi Bridge and Oboke Gorge. Featured amenities include complimentary newspapers in the lobby, multilingual staff, and luggage storage. Free self parking is available onsite.
6.7 Good
Pros: Very friendly, accommodating staff who will go out of their way to welcome you. The food was beautifully presented and felt like a very authentic experience, particularly for first time travellers to Japan.
Cons: Overall the hotel felt dated and tired, in need of some editing of decor and finishings. It was disappointing to have to pay extra for the private onsen experience and be confronted with a hidden “spring tax” on the bill when we checked out, particularly because the hotel did not appear full or busy at all, and it certainly did not look or feel like spring. Many of the trees that colour the landscape in photos on the internet are bare at this time of the year. I was also disappointed to see that a bottle of sake sold at the gift shop was almost half the price of what they charged for one at dinner. It felt like a hotel and tourist area way past it’s hey day, trying to squeeze money from people wherever they could. For example, they charge tourists (not the hotel), around 1,000yen to cross the famous vine bridge down the road which I thought was pretty shocking. To be honest the whole area I will not visit again, we hired a car and drove past many abandoned buildings, there wasn’t that much to do or see or restaurants to visit that weren’t totally overpriced and average. Unfortunately I would not recommend this hotel or area for travellers.
9.0 Excellent
Pros: Large and very comfortable room. Professionnal and helful employees Nice situation close to Kazurabashi bridge and to the road to the east part of Iya Valley. Wonderful outdoor onsen reached by a small private cablecar. Nice Japanese dinner and breakfast.
Cons: Japanese price too high for european people
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Room and all facilities was definitely clean. Open air onsen that located on the top of mountain was nice. All staffs were very kind. Highly recommend!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The hot spring was exceptional.
Cons: Would have been nice to be able to buy some cold local fresh milk after the hot spring.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: The service and the food served are good.
Cons: No shuttle service available from Oboke Station and the frequency of the bus around that around is not good.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: I asked a vegetarian option and they offered good vegi meals.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Fantastic service from all the staff. One of the best hotels we have stayed in so far. Mr Okada provided us with the information of places of interest in detail and even provided us the map codes of the places which was really helpful since we were driving. Mr Okada was really very helpful and he could communicate very well in English which made it so easy for us. Quality of food was also very good. We had half board, dinners and breakfast were really good. We opt for western breakfast for day 2. Quality was just as good. We really enjoyed the meals The hotel provided a free night tour to the vines bridge and Biwa waterfall . There was a light drizzle and the driver handed out umbrellas to all the guests on the tour. He also made sure to shelter us from the drizzle when we alighted from the bus upon arrival back at the hotel. The hotel has a mini cable car which takes guests to the open air onsen which was an interesting experience. Quality of the spring water was also very good. We felt refreshed after visiting the onsen.
Cons: Nothing that we can think of.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: 1. Osen (many options and very comfortable) - especially love the osen at the top of the hill which had a very nice view and the osen in my room which allowed privacy 2. A comfy and large room with massage chair 3. excellent service provided by welcoming and helpful staff. no problem in communication at all (english) 4. night tour which marked my night!!! 5. dinner with delicious local and traditional dishes; and the extra sake we bought which was awesome too 6. a very full and healthy breakfast with local fish
Cons: 1. the in-room hair dryer - not strong enough 2. Would be great if there were more pieces of premium steak given the premium room we purchased 3. A bit disappointed as the hotel promised to decorate the room for bday celebration of my guest but there’s no declaration when i arrived - although this is something extra
9.2 Excellent
Pros: One of the best onsen I have stayed throughout my multiple visits to Japan. Definitely have to check in earlier as possible to enjoy the hotspring with the view! Special kudos to the 2 male waiters that served us dinner and breakfast! Both meals were very enjoyable and delicious! It’s also very nearby to the kazurabashi bridge.
Cons: Tatami could be thicker. Had backache waking up

Pros: Obviously the location is great. The outdoor bath is quite spectacular. Quite expensive for a solo traveller.
Cons: It was cold when i was there and I struggled to warm up the room. This is unfortunately often the case in old houses.
2.5 Mediocre
Cons: Disgusting dinner. We opted for the Japanese style option but nothing could be further away from traditional Japanese cuisine. The meat (both pork and chicken) was tasteless. The food in the cheap restaurant 6km down the road was much better without any of the surrounding fuss. We happened to be sitted not far away from the ‘kitchen’. We noticed that all the dishes were frozen or in the fridge, they were just pre-heated before being served. There was no real-time cooking whatsoever. Seeing more foreigners in the dinner room (which looked more like a school canteen) was another bad sign. I have been going on holidays in Japan for many years, after eating in the restaurant of the hotel it was the first time ever I got a diarrhea. It was also the first time ever I did not feel as I was in Japan but more stuck in a tourist trap. Other disappointing features of the hotel: - One has to pay for private access to the onsen, in other hotels of similar rank that is included in the package - No tissues in the room - the cablecar is the last authentic bit of the place, just take it to access the onsen, don’t bother staying in the hotel - hotel placed on the road, the parking nearby can get can busy very early in morning. - the noise of the air-conditioning machines during the night is significant. In a summary this place is very poor value for money.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: I had a perfect stay in Iya. The staffs are really nice and helpful. The Onsen experience was good, the cable car is fun.

Pros: The location of the onsen.
Cons: The quality of the food and the overall experience does not meet our expectations of a 4-star hotel for this price.
