We had a great time staying at the Auberge Le Biblenhof. Our room used to be the kitchen when the farm was build. It has been converted into a great room with stone floors. The dinner at the restaurant was excellent.
It would be great to have a vegetarian main meal at the restaurant.
The hotel itself is in a quaint, traditional stone building and a real nice estate. It is close to the Alsatian Wine route. Prices are below average.
Before arrival, I had asked the hotel to get a quiet room if possible. The first night, I was given a room in the main building (Chambre Orange). It was spacious but that was about the only positive. It was situated right above the garden terrace where people sat, talked loudly and also smoked until midnight. So not really what i would call quiet. In the room, the bathroom could use a make-over and the TV also did not work properly (just 2 channels). When I asked after the first night to change the room, I was given a room on 3rd floor in the annex. So far, so good. Might have been nice to know that the annex is used for parties - just like that night when they had a wedding. So loud music until 2 am, people yelling on the street in front of the window etc. Again not what i would call relaxing and quiet. In the end, the hotel owners offered me the two nights for free which was a nice gesture. But frankly, I would have preferred to enjoy my weekend and be able to sleep. So when you consider this hotel, always ask if there is an event scheduled as sleeping is then impossible.
I have stayed at the biblenhof many times by now. it is an old farmhouse. many more or less wild cats, 2 horses, dogs, garden etc. the rooms are all very different. and some could do with well an update. the restaurant is simply far out. beautiful terrace as well. the restaurant is open the weekend only, during the week it is the bistro which is great as well but a lot simpler. go for the menue if you want to try as much as possible for as little as possible. the cheese trolley is simply great as well. do not go there without a car or a bike. the biblenhof is in the middle of nowhere.
Not a lot
There was no one around, we were left to fend for ourselves. Restaurant was closed. No where to get a drink even. Have stayed at this establishment a few times in the past and found it to be excellent. So disappointed this time so never again
This cosy hotel is in Marlenheim. This cosy accommodation guarantees a quiet stay as it counts with just 12 guests rooms. This is not a pet-friendly hotel.
