10.0 Excellent
Pros: Comfortable, clean and best of all - gracious hosts. The communal living space and kitchen is excellent
4.6 Okay
Pros: Very clean.
Cons: Wrong pricing was given and paid over booking.com at first, nothing was mentioned by owner during check-in. Upon our return to the hotel, the luggages (which were previously placed in luggage deposit area) were held back at the hotel counter and demanded for the extra payment. We were OK to pay extra, but we were being treated extremely badly! The kids were using the toilet and were being despite at for using it. We had to be sort out this matter at outdoor that is in - 3c! The kids were shiver in cold cos their shoes were wet during snow play. The owners had the gut of telling us so sorry to see u guys have to go through this, and collected payment from us. It is obviously hypocrite! Yes we are Asian, but doesn't mean we deserve to be treated as such - obvious racial discrimination. On the first day, everything was good until we check out, the friendly face has changed to devil the moment we checked out and no longer legally "rented" the place. We could have leave Mt Buller with a warm heart and a great experience if not for this. Pls note that bed linen and towels are at extra charged and you need to put up your own bed sheet.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Good service
10.0 Excellent
Pros: This place is sparkling clean! Compared to the place I stayed last year at Mt Buller, I was above the heaven! The modern kitchen provides everything you need! The large opening living area provides everyone, include the young ones and the ones young in heart, a spacious spot to relax, chat and have fun! The most importantly, the owners are super friendly and helpful with all information you need at Mt Buller!
9.6 Excellent
Pros: really comfortable beds
10.0 Excellent

Cons: Restaurant a bit too pricey.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Reception were amazing and our room was great and great location
Cons: We found the Restaurant was a bit pricey
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Very closed to village square, so, easy to find the restaurants, and almost ski-in and ski-out.
5.0 Okay
Pros: The Location was amazing. The bathroom was small but ok. The rooms were bigger than expected. Great spot to stay. Would stay there again.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Excellent, had every choice I wanted.
Cons: Nothing
7.9 Good
Pros: The location is good though the place is no longer new. You still get value for money.
Cons: The price seems to have gone up considerably for 2020.
7.1 Good
Pros: Location was pretty good, it was clean
Cons: We couldn’t turn our heater down so had to sleep with the window open as it was too hot in the room. Old place
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Small bunk room but light filled, nice compact bathroom. Great restaurant downstairs... best food we found on the mountain. Good wine list, etc. spatchcock & duck excellent.
Cons: Walls were a bit thin.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Lovely comfortable bed with soft waffle type doona & pillowcases which made the sleep extremely relaxed & cozy.
6.7 Good
Pros: Central location, only 50m from Lydia's lift/snow (but the compromise is the necessity to use the rope tow to get to main mountain). Breakfast provided (basic, but adequate), good ski drying room, friendly staff
Cons: Very small room (bathroom satisfactory, but you can't swing a cat in it, you need to dry outside the bathroom or with the slide door open). Can sleep 3 people, but wouldn't advise it. As with most ski lodging, the sting is the price, which I guess is increasingly hard to whinge about if want central, but was spring.

7.0 Good
Pros: Clean, Breakfast included, Good size apartment, Change room and shower facility after check out.
Cons: The stairs to our room in level 5 is quite challenging for my two year old, the spa in the bathroom does not work, the distance to the snow play area is a bit far... so we need to wait for the shuttle bus every time we want to go to the village center and snow play.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Stuff was really professional and helpful. Great spa and pool area, had an amazing 90 min Breathtaker fascial treatment ( almost fall asleep). Breakfast was great as well. Definitely coming back soon!
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Location is very good. The staff are very helpful. The restaurant and dining facilities are very good. It is well renovated and the rooms seemed "fresh".
Cons: Unfortunately the rooms are smaller than expected and the circular staircase not great for smaller children. For a ski resort hotel, I was expecting better drying room facilities.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The staff were extremely helpful and the room we had was absolutely stunning. Heated floors and a fireplace - what more could you want in a snow trip!
Cons: There was no elevator but we only stayed for two nights therefore did not have much luggage, and was not a big of an issue.
6.7 Good
Pros: Stuff is very friendly
Cons: WIFI and phone signal is very poor
8.8 Excellent
Pros: The location was fantastic as was breakfast. The staff were extremely friendly and accommodating. Great atmosphere on the snow at Mt Buller.
Cons: The three bedroom apartment was tiny, it was really a one bedroom with a loft (2 bedrooms up top). Not suitable for 7 people that it was booked for. None of the bathroom amenities were replenished during our stay.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Location and facilities ! Thanks for an amazing time :)
Cons: Nothing !
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Tasteful design, knowledgeable staff, transfers organised (at a cost). Bar and restaurant on site.
Cons: It’s a ski village so rooms are small.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Very friendly staff and helpful, at all times
Cons: The stairs in the room!
7.5 Good
Pros: It's the friendliness of the staffs in the hotel.
Cons: Probably it is located on top of the mountain so pretty poor in tv signal, but that's alright.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Great Location and great place to stay with friends
Cons: Nothing
7.9 Good
Pros: Location and ease of ins/ outs with ski equipment
Cons: A heads up before we arrived about parking (not on site for anything at Buller) / taxis / tickets etc - thought this was common practice but we came in kind of blind.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Location and Facilities are very good. The drying room is super helpful. Started with warm and dry boots, jackets and gloves every day.
2.9 Mediocre
Pros: close to the ski lift
Cons: everything ! worst room for the high rate. they didnt clean the room properly. foods are bad.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The rooms are really spacious. The whole place has such a wonderful old worldly charm and they are rightfully proud of their history. The facilities, such as the drying room and ski locker make sure everything is warm and dry for the following day. Kaptans Restaurant is really good for dinner, so check it out. The location is suburb with only a short walk to the ski runs and lifts. This hotel was a really pleasant surprise and we can't wait to go back.
Cons: My only criticism was that the rooms were a bit too warm and there wasn't any way to turn down the heat. However, opening the window for some fresh air cooled things down.
7.5 Good
Pros: Could not beat the location. Kaptan’s restaurant was excellent. Hotel had a fun European ski lodge feel.
Cons: Prices are very high for what’s a 3 star room - but you get the great location for skiing.
5.8 Okay
Pros: Warm
Cons: No view from window. Entry to spa was awkward.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: everything
Cons: Not much
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Being first time skiing it had great access to a ski shop, ski school, and ski lifts. Also the building was homely with a guess lounge and library area overlooking the ski slope if you want a break from skiing.
Cons: The only improvement would to upgrade the bed linen and covers. The doona's were uneven and dated.

8.8 Excellent
Pros: Amazing room with spectacular views and very close access to the ski slopes! The kids loved having their own mezzanine level with bed and lounge upstairs.
Cons: We could not pull pack the curtain in our room (broken) so had to tie it with the vacuum cleaner cord so we could enjoy the amazing view
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Access, convenience & staff
Cons: view from ground floor was into popo kitchen stair so the room was a bit dark as we had to keep the blinds closed.
5.0 Okay
Pros: So disappointing. The chalet use to be a beautiful place to stay
7.9 Good
Pros: The room is excellent , and this hotel has the best location.
Cons: It’s a 4 stars hotel and I paid so much, but this hotel has no Porter / bellboy! And the lobby itself has steps. So we have to lift up all of our heavy luggages to the front desk.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Closeness to ski lifts
Cons: High price!!
5.0 Okay
Pros: Location
Cons: Outdated , for a room that holds 6 people ... no microwave, toaster ... facilities were of a 1-2 star hotel
7.1 Good
Pros: We liked the closeness to the slopes and village and the pool facilities (although needs freshening up). The reception staff were lovely.
Cons: We didn’t like the shower facilities! The shower curtain was half size meaning water went everywhere - not sure why one was even placed there! It was half size! Therefore the whole bathroom was soaked before you even got in. Secondly, as the shower space was so small, the clammy shower curtain had no where to go but stick on you. Very surprised and disappointed by this. We also went to the café to have dinner around 8pm and asked if they could turn down the music as it was so loud but didn’t and then sat there waiting for service but didn’t get any so left!
3.8 Mediocre
Pros: Location
Cons: Rooms and no service
7.5 Good
Pros: My room was freshly renovated but my Friends room was much more dated - I was lucky but think there should be a different price for the old and new. On saying that the décor in my room was beautiful.
Cons: The restaurants are no longer part of the Hotel. Breakfast used to be included and this is no longer the case. The breakfast did not open until 8 am so we had to go elsewhere.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Location and facilities were great. Loved the spa and sauna.
Cons: The breakfast was a little disappointing. Usually prefer a self serve with cereals , toast and toppings and choice to order cooked breakfast as extra.

C$ 950+
Overview Reviews
With a stay at Duck Inn Mt Buller in Mount Buller, you'll be in a national park, within a 10-minute drive of Mount Buller Peak and Village Center. Featured amenities include multilingual staff and luggage storage.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Greet service
4.6 Okay
Pros: Localization.
Cons: The room is so small. In 4 days no one cleaned the room or even change the towels. The rental refused to stop charging me even after I’ve returned the ski equipments. The guy said that it was not allowed by the sistem computer and I should present a medical document for not be charged until the last day of the rental. Bu the way, he received the equipments back and it could have been rented for anyone. So my wife spent two days in the room having anti-inflammatories and ice on her knee but paying for the ski equipments instead. The breakfast was poor. There wasn’t a slice of cheese. The excelent iogurt was an exeption.
7.5 Good
Pros: have stayed at the duck inn before it was renovated and now 8 years of great service
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Affordable hotel with good facilities
Cons: Continental breakfast was basic. Fresh fruit and multigrain/fruit toast would have been great.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Breakfast simple but adequate. Dinner was great - staff very helpful for a birthday celebration
Cons: Checkin - the reception bell did not work
7.1 Good
Pros: The location was perfect with breath taking views, warm cozy room and very friendly helpful staff
Cons: We found the accommodation very overpriced for what we got. I know it was the cheaper one but over $300 for one night in a small room with no fridge very expensive. The main meal we had at the hotel in the evening was not nice I couldn't eat it , very little choice and again very overpriced. Saying at this I would come back again.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Breakfast was fine; space very tight. The evening meal was outstanding; great menu and fantastic service. Gear hire all outstanding. The app for Taxi service was also outstanding. Quality of rooms and the venue itself brilliant. Thanks for the hospitality. Cheers Mick
Cons: The big issue of this venue I felt was the very poor changeover option; that is as you arrived on the first-day storage and access to luggage is poor and nowhere to get changed to hit the slopes. Many people arrive early and need to change. Same issue on leaving; gear storage and changing into travel gear to get home was very restrictive.
5.0 Okay
Cons: I did not like that you have to pay $20 for a fridge, nor does this place offer a microwave atleast. great staff and very friendly.
5.8 Okay
Cons: en-suite was cramped-towel rail heat adjuster was in the access point to toilet No fridge in room no free internet - really heating didn't seam to work 2nd night room got cold. Breakfast toaster had to be used three times to get toast toasted auto lights on stairs activated to slow
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We stayed for a few days and the staff were very helpful. The facilities were all we needed and we were given plenty of flexibility with regard to checking in and leaving our gear whilst we got out on the slopes. Same with check out.
Cons: A microwave would have been useful.

Featured amenities include complimentary newspapers in the lobby, multilingual staff, and luggage storage. A roundtrip airport shuttle is provided for a surcharge (available on request).
6.3 Good
Pros: The Breakfast was ok, pretty basic but at least included in the price. I loved the floor heating, very cosy and the pillows were very good. The location was very good, just a short walk into the village.
Cons: When we arrived late morning we were abit unsure about where to leave our gear and the receptionist wasn't very helpful. We didn't like the noise coming from the bar both nights we stayed. There was a singer performing the first night and you could hear every word he was singing and this went on until 1am. Next night there was just loud music. All we wanted was a good nights sleep, but very hard to get with all the noise. The bathroom definitely needs updating, very 70's tiles.
6.7 Good
Pros: Great location right next to Chamois. Recommend for ease of access to slopes and village!
Cons: Overpriced given the condition of facilities and comparatively to other lodges in the same area.
2.5 Mediocre
Pros: Nothing
Cons: Everything
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Staff were amazing
Cons: Mattress were a little hard for me..... but I guess I just like them soft
7.5 Good
Pros: resturants and game room are very kids friendly
Cons: bed noisy, and bathroom tiles
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Close to town.
Cons: The bed was broken and I did my back.
7.5 Good
Pros: Great location but basic
Cons: A shared oven or a bit more in the way of kitchen facilities
5.4 Okay
Pros: The location was great, the ski hire was very handy and accessible, and a very reasonable price. The restaurant on site provided great food from kids meals to steak and pizza.
Cons: The beds were terrible constant squeaking when anyone moved. The toilet cistern constantly leaked. And the room was far too hot & there was no adjustment available. The door lock/handle/latch was very loose. Anyone could’ve pushed our door open.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Friendly staff Very affodable for group visits The fact it has a restaurant down stairs for easy dinning Breakfast included Plenty of entertainment for all ages . Heated floors Pool and spa Decent sized room for 6 people Not even a 5 min walk to the main area of mt buller
Cons: I didn`t like that the rooms weren't sound proof and could hear the noise from surrounding rooms quite easy . I also didnt like the fluctuating temperatures from the showers and lack of lighting in the bathroom. And the fact the spa down at the pool section the jets weren't working Didnt have a kitchen to cook your own food if you needed to
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Beds are comfortable. Not a luxurious place but nice and cosy, has everything you need for a comfortable family holiday. Not wasteful. Resources used very sensibly.
Cons: Some more varieties and options for breakfast would be good. More fruit would be nice. Weetbix is always good.
Buller Backpackers - Mount Buller

3.4 Mediocre
Pros: Location was good
Cons: Noise and Weed and Ambivalent management. Spent the night at this backpackers, unfortunately next door to a room full of bong heads who were noisy all night. No management around at all to enforce curfew (the stay at a different location), Would not recommend for a peaceful nights sleep.
