Cons:The room was not clean and there was mold on the ceiling.
Pros:Was decent for the money. Felt safe.
Cons:they could have had fruit and healthy breakfast option instead of all processed foods.
Cons:We got in at 1:00am because our train was held up. The young man at the seat was very friendly and kind! We appreciated his smiling face!! Thank you!
Pros:Having driven up from LA, we arrived just after midnight. We called 2-3 hours away to let the concierge know.. the guy hung up on us. Luckily, he had left by the time we got there... Thomas, the night concierge, was awesome and extremely helpful! The next evening, we had some late night troubles with getting a taxi. I question of this "new" guy actually called... we waited for a long time. However, I really enjoyed having a 24- hour concierge... thanks for that. It's a "boutique" hotel... hence the room was tiny. HOWEVER, We slept well, the room was well laid out for being so small, and has all the fixins' of a regular hotel. Parking was across the street at the Convention center, but for a reduced rate. In the AM there was a continental breakfast, which was a nice spread. This hotel was right smack in the middle of downtown Oakland, on the border of ChinaTown. Which was great because "Fortune" Chinese is open late and 2-3 blocks away and delish! The area is very walkable, with stores and bars and restaurants nearby.

Pros:Location was ideal for business, food & nightlife in downtown Oakland. 2 blocks from BART. Rooms are nicely updated while still maintaining old-school charm. Rooms are a bit snug and sink is in bathroom but c'mon people this building is 100+ years old. You're clearly not at a Courtyard Marriott, embrace the history. Surprisingly good water pressure for an older building.
Cons:I stayed on second floor above the entrance and there was a ton of street noise that woke me up in the morning--trash pickup at 5 AM, loud truck running and pallet unloading for Smart & Final next door at 6 AM. Not really hotel's fault but something to be aware of--choose a higher/rear facing room or bring a loud fan. It was nice they provided it but breakfast was bare minimum. Staff was friendly but staff rushed through check-in as quick as possible. Shampoo but no conditioner in bathroom.

Pros:Perfect location. Went to a concert at the fox theater and right downtown. Parking is easy, even on the street is fine. Very safe, Oakland just has a bad rep
Pros:Very comfortable room and bed, friendly staff, good location near The Fox Theatre and lots of bars and restaurants.
Cons:No hot water to speak of, wifi only worked for about 5 minutes.
Cons:Strange experience altogether. Checkin gentleman was a little uncomfortably flirtatious while the morning staff person at checkout was unfriendly and curt. Elevator out of service and was only offered a free cancellation verses a discount. Incredibly noisy room, awkward layout. At $170 with tax, definitely not worth the overall experience. Would not recommend ot stay at again.
Pros:Good for folks looking for a quick and quiet stay.
Cons:The 'breakfast' left much to be desired.
