Infusing the warmest of welcomes with an immaculate attention to detail, this family-run hotel is committed to providing a uniquely personal experience for all its guests. In keeping with the spirit of the main building, each of the 8 comfortable guestrooms have been individually designed and decorated to a very high standard. As one would expect from a property that won the ‘Scottish Borders Guest House of the Year 2012’, all rooms come fully equipped with a range of homely extras and conveniences. Including free Wi-Fi access, flat screen TV with digital channels, designer toiletries, hairdryer and tea & coffee making facilities. There is a wide selection of room types to choose from, including Single, Classic Double, Twin and spacious Superior options. With the exception of the Twin Room (which has its own private bathroom just a few steps away), all rooms also feature en-suite shower/bathrooms. No visit to Caddon View would be complete without sampling the many delights of the award-winning on-site restaurant. The dining room sets the tone straight away, with candlelit tables, stunning original plaster work and large bay windows that overlook the charming gardens. Specialising in traditional Scottish and British cuisine with a modern twist, the kitchen staff take great care to source their ingredients from local suppliers wherever possible. Everything is home-made and freshly prepared and the menu varies daily, all of which results in some truly delicious and creative food. With an extensive wine list, some great beers and spirits as well as a tempting Whisky menu, there is something to complement every meal. Please note that Dinner is from 7pm to 7:30pm. After a long day, why not retire to the drawing room? With a cosy log fire and a bookcase filled with maps, games and various novels it is the perfect place to relax and unwind. The Hotel is situated in Innerleithen, near Peebles and Glentress, in the Scottish Borders. Located just off the A72, and with free on-site parking, it is both convenient and accessible. Edinburgh city centre is a 49 minute drive away and has excellent rail links to the rest of the country. Buses from Edinburgh (services 62, 62A or 62B) come through Innerleithen and take about 1 hour 20 minutes. For those flying in, Edinburgh Airport offers both international and national flights. The small rural mill town of Innerleithen, renowned for its exquisite cashmere, is set in the heart of the Scottish Borders' rolling landscape in the Tweed Valley. It is surrounded by all the calm and charm of the countryside but still within easy reach of Edinburgh. Outdoor enthusiasts will be in their element, with ample opportunities for walking, rambling, cycling, fishing and much more besides. Glentress Forest is just a short 15 minute drive from the Hotel and offers 12 miles of walking trails but is perhaps best known as a mountain biking Mecca. Catering to all levels of experience it is sure to provide a thrilling and visually stunning experience for all fans of the sport. For those seeking less exhaustive pursuits, see history come to life at Traquair House, a fantastic stately home that dates all the way back to 1107. Visitors are invited to enjoy the house, extensive grounds, maze, craft workshops, 1745 Cottage Restaurant and the famous Traquair House Brewery housed in the eighteenth century wing and producer of the world famous Traquair House Ales. Further historic wonders can be uncovered at Abbotsford House, former home of the famous poet Sir Walter Scott. Steeped in evocative power of the romantic past, it hosts an impressive collection of antiques and relics, an extensive library of over 9,000 rare volumes and some truly beautiful gardens and landscapes. Scenery of a very different nature can be found at Dawyck Botanical Gardens, one of the world’s finest arboreta. Here, seasonal displays of abundant exotic and native plants provide a breathtaking backdrop of colour throughout the year.
