Pros: I was pleasantly surprised by this hotel. I wanted to be very close to the train station and wasn't expecting much, so I was pleasantly surprised. A room like this is Paris would be 3x the price. It is a bit away from the old town but there is an elevator in the garage across the street that takes you to a shortcut. Loved the time I spent here.

This had all you expect from a Hotel when travelling and at a 1/4 of the cost of a more pretentious and disappointing place at the beginning of our trip.

The reception staff member was extraordinarily courtesy and accommodating. The pillows, as in many French hotels were ridiculously small and flat, however, we asked for and were provided with extra which made our sleeping way more comfortable.

Underground car park is compact, not easy to manoeuvre, only one way in and out, internal stairs to and from which are narrow without hand rails, not suitable for the disabled or anyone carrying more than 1 small suitcase. Toilet is small and basically in a cupboard separate from the bathroom, room is not what you expect from a hotel called "Le Grand", no view.

Cons: Some staff didn’t speak English at all, which is not their fault but it should be a requirement of the hotel when hiring. Dust on most furniture. Breakfast is really overpriced for something that can barely be called continental. And to charge for kids meal is absurd.

The Hotel ibis Poitiers Centre is located in the heart of Poitiers, city of art and history, 15 minutes from Futuroscope. The hotel has 75 air-conditioned rooms which are perfect for business and leisure trips. There is a public car park less than 55 yds (50 m) from the hotel and several restaurants nearby.

Cons: The beds were particularly uncomfortable in that they were very hot, both myself and my travelling partner found this for both our beds. We both had a very poor nights sleep

Cons: The room was ultracramped. Impossible small bathroom. With two adults in the same room it's like one of those puzzles where you need to move one block before you can move the next. Beds were small and uncomfortable. On top of it, my Ibis loyalty program wasn't recognized as I'd booked through booking.com.

Cons: I requested parking, arrived at 12.40 am and found the last parking space only for the desk come out and say that though parking was first come first served, that one was reserved for another guest,. I had to lug all my bags and luggage from a public car park that I had to negotiate a One way system to find. There were no tea or coffee making facilities in the room and we couldn’t find anywhere to get any. The room had a third pop down bed over the pillow of the twins beds. I banged my head on it even though it was up. It also had an abstract nude on the base. My sister is disabled and found it disconcerting that the hotel locked its doors at night and having to find someone to unlock them.

Pros: The host was so helpful and such a nice person. Unfortunately driving our car to the location just didnt happen despite so much help. We had to just go back to the car and drive to another location to stay the night. Despite the booking being non refundable the host stated he wouldnt charge us for the night as he felt bad too that after a hour of trying to gain entrance to the car park we just had to give up. There was lots of road work going on. I never went into the facility so I cannot give feedback on that.
