Pros: What a lovely place to stay. We will be going back next Spring.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Stayed here 5 years ago and it is lovely to see the owner has still got a real passion for making everything perfect, so many lovely touches from cake left in the room each day, sweets to help yourselves to, free coffee/tea, plenty of advice on places to visit or to eat and the breakfast always came with care and imagination :) On top of this beautifully decorated rooms, clean and very comfortable. Ypres is just a short drive away as are a lot of War cemeteries, we also found some lovely walks so made the most of the good weather for this time of year.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Wonderful farm, extremely nice room. Ann is a lovely host and she really took care of guests explaining the best places to visit, have dinner or simply walk and ride the bike. The room and all the farm is charm and decorated in full details. Cousy, niice, clean and big. Breakfast was perfect. Definitely it was probably one of the nicest B&B I’ve stayed ever. A piece to visit again.
Cons: Nothing
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Ann is the most wonderful hostess and made us feel so welcome. Everything is very stylish and spotless with nothing too much trouble. Breakfasts are amazing and utterly delicious! If you need gluten-free then this is the place for you - delicious rolls for breakfast from a local baker who does gluten-free baking regularly. Ann reserved a table for us for supper in an excellent estaminet close by where gluten-free was absolutely no problem. Can't recommend this lovely house highly enough!

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Absolutely stunning property set in the bucolic Belgian country side. The B&B is in a perfect location for those interested in the history of Flanders fields, being located a short drive away from Ypres and various WW1 memorials / sites. Additionally, for beer lovers, it is a short 15 minute drive to the Westvleteren abbey, St Bernard, and De Struise (the owner even keeps Westy 12s stocked in the rooms :) ) The location itself looks like something you would expect in a movie featuring a rustic farmhouse near a quaint European village. You'll pull in through a large wrought iron gate to be greeted by a gorgeous pond, gardens, outdoor entertaining areas, and various animal denizens. The rooms are spacious and beautiful, complete with exposed wooden beams, a self-contained gas fireplace, and a wonderful bathroom with rain showers and a tub. Overall, a very romantic setting for a weekend getaway. Breakfast is a real treat, featuring various home-made and local products. You can tell the owner put a lot of detail into every little touch of this B&B to make staying here a truly relaxing and unforgettable experience!

Tea and coffee also available. There is a full kitchen so you can self cater and a large relaxing area so you can socialise and enjoy the facilities. The rooms are modern and so very comfortable.
Cons: The stairs are steep to the first floor.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: A well stocked breakfast bar greeted us each morning and we were also offered eggs (from very local hens) cooked to our choice. We were in easy striking distance of many of the main WW1 sites and were able to visit quite a few in our short break. The Hostess was always pleasant and helpful. This is a great place to stay.
Cons: The local restaurants do not seem to like being open and we had to search to find a meal each night. Those meals that we did get were all enjoyed.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: As I was visiting some of the Ypres area WW1 sites, the location was ideal. I was on a 31 day hotel/camping trip, so price was also another consideration. As I'm now retired, it represented a sensible solution to my requirements. Very helpful host ( I mislaid my UK to 2 pin plug adaptor and they sorted one out for me) and a good breakfast selection.
Cons: The location is a bit “out of town”. Might bother some folks, didn’t bother me one bit though, as I had a car.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Wonderful hospitality and very well appointed. We liked the lounge in the evening and the honesty bar which had super Belgian beers .A terrific breakfast with quality choices .
Cons: Nothing
9.3 Excellent
Pros: GREAT couple owning the hotel, breakfast was lovely, honesty bar was very reasonably priced

8.8 Excellent
Pros: The continental breakfast was OK if a little expensive and they have secure bike storage facilities
9.5 Excellent
Pros: We have stayed here before - a beer-buying trip. Nice modern rooms- we were on the top floor this time - the room had a large verandah but it was too cold and wet to use! Very good bar-cafe-restaurant downstairs. Very convenient for Friday market (good cheese!).
Cons: Not the hotel's fault but the usually convenient car park 50 metres away was closed due to building works, and it was about 5 mins brisk walk to the nearest free alternative. Very friendly and helpful local man at the bar rode in my car to show me as the one-way system takes some getting used to. (NB you cannot park on the market square over the road Thursday nights because of the market on Fridays.)
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Quitness and very nice room.
Cons: Breakfast was rather expensive. TV Channels were not installed.

Pros: Our second stay at Atalanta. Lovely hosts, lovely house which comes with your own private sitting room, lovely breakfasts with lots of home grown produce, off road parking and a short walk into the lovely town of Poperinge. Danke Frieda and Manu, we hope to return again.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Great location on the outskirts of Poperinge, a few minutes walk in to the town centre and giving easy access to Ypres and the Salient area Hosts are very charming and hospitable As well as a large sized bed and bathrooms, the accommodation also includes a sitting room area
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We had lots of space to ourselves. Beautiful views. Good shower. Lovely owners. Amazing breakfast! Would 100% recommend.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Frieda and Manu were the perfect hosts. You are made to feel part of the family, but also given your own privacy. They were happy to spend time helping us to plan our stay. There is only one room available so staying here is quite exclusive. The accommodation comprises of a large bedroom with large comfy bed and plenty of wardrobe space, a large bathroom with twin sinks, toilet and shower over the bath and a sitting/dining room with fridge stocked with drinks (fair prices), coffee/tea making facilities, TV/Satellite with English channels such as BBC 1 and 2, BBC News and CNN. The continental breakfast is very good and there is an option to have cooked bacon and eggs if required. There is plenty of off road parking. The walk to the town is about 10 to 15 minutes.
Cons: There were various teas (e.g. earl grey, lemon green tea, fruit tea) available in the sitting/dining room, but unfortunately no English black tea, although this was available for our breakfast. Dogs are not allowed, but we understand Frieda and Manu's reasons why, which is that they want to keep a very clean house.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: wonderful welcome, fantastic accommodation, excellent breakfast, would highly recommend.
Cons: nothing other than signage on the main road, easy to miss the turn.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: A very friendly B & B run by a lovely couple who were keen to help. The room was large with the added bonus of a small sitting room. The bed was large and very comfortable. On arrival we were treated to a cup of tea in the garden with the family who gave us advice for our trip to Ypres and its surrounding area. Breakfast in the morning was delicious with a large selection of food on offer, much of which was homemade. Nothing was too much trouble for the owners.
Cons: Nothing as it all lived up to our expectations.

Pros: Location is excellent, we didn't eat at the hotel, staff very welcoming and helpful
Cons: The bathroom is a bit shabby
10.0 Excellent
Pros: This is a fantastic hotel with a fantastic staff. This was our second year there.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Large rooms
Cons: Parking slight issue on Thursday due to market day but well explained
9.3 Excellent
Pros: We've stayed there before so choosing to go back was easy. It is a family run hotel with excellent restaurant, and no no longer closed 2 days per week: the family son and daughter-in-law have taken over the bistro next door, are knocking through upstairs to add rooms, and have just begun to serve dinner from same menu from "their" side on the nights the main hotel restaurant is closed. Breakfast also superb, but we expected nothing less.
Cons: We were plagued by mosquitoes (as we were two years ago...) and it seems bizarre in a market square in Belgium with no obvious swamp nearby... Clearly we didn't shut the windows early enough. We survived. Won't stop us returning again. Noticed the stairs carpet could use a shampoo...
10.0 Excellent
Pros: This is a beautiful hotel, run by a great staff in a beautiful location. Dinner was amazing, and I'll remember the breakfast in my dreams.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: I really liked the staff friendliness, the toiletries and the location.

9.5 Excellent
Pros: This was our second stay with them, and it was no disappointment after 12 months. Can't fault the staff, location, nor facilities. Plus the weather was fantastic!
Cons: The breakfast was lovely but rather pricey otherwise there are no negative things to say.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Friendly , very comfortable , beautifully clean and excellent breakfast!
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Lovely spacious room with modern subdued decor & large comfy bed with soft white linen. Made good use of the Krups coffee machine. Kettle also provided. Shame about waxed cups but I'd packed a mug. Loved the ensuite with spacious walk-in shower.
Cons: Seems really petty but the huge towel rail was almost to the high ceiling. Should be positioned lower. I'm 5'8 but could only use the bottom half. But if that's the only gripe you can tell it's pretty good.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Location was perfect to the Lijssenthoek Military Cemetery, hired cycles from Amfora. Train to Ypres close by and easy to naviagate. Amfora was brilliant all round - bed and room comfy, no noise, great view, amazing food and decor. Thanks Dominique, Nancy, Ellen, Glen and Kimberley. We hope to get back soon.
Cons: Having to catch 3 trains from CDG to Poperinge. The trains and stations not user friendly for those with suitcases. You need to be fit and well to be able to use the trains.
5.8 Okay
Pros: This is the second time I have stayed here. Last time I stayed in the annex which was relatively modern and acceptable. This time I stayed in the main hotel in a bedroom that was old fashioned and uncomfortable, also there was no lift in the main hotel.
Cons: Uncomfortable old fashioned room. Parking that was difficult because the main square was used for the market the following day.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Great hotel. Stayed in apartments a short walk away which were quiet and a great room.
9.5 Excellent

Pros: Very friendly staff Lots of lovely quirky statues
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Stunning views, very friendly staff with great customer service. Food was very good, both dinner and breakfast. Overall, good value and the perfect location for exploring the battlefields
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Stunning views for our room, it's definitely worth booking a room with a Valley View, and the food in the restaurant was fantastic! The menu was only printed in Flemish so our waiter translated every dish into English for us!! Wonderful customer service!
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Peaceful hotel with amazing views. The owners and staff were all very helpful, rooms were spotless and ample safe parking.
Cons: The food in the gourmet restaurant was excellent but it did take a long time to arrive. We booked a table for 7.30 and first course arrived at 8.30 with around 45mins in between courses. Appreciate this is a gourmet experience not to be rushed but this seemed a little excessive especially as we were leaving early the next day and wanted to get to bed.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: It was superb!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: This is a bit exceptional - cracking view, lovely terrace, friendly and kind. I arrived late after the kitchen was closed but the receptionist provided a platter of cheeses and bread which is just what I needed. Good company too! Rooms were way above the average for this price range and it just felt homey.
7.5 Good
Pros: The view and location are great
Cons: Room was too small, bathroom not spotless.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: A quiet stay (but a little expensive) in a relaxed hotel with great views. Dinner was excellent.

8.8 Excellent
Pros: Very comfortable bedrooms with all you could want. Lovely public areas, and close to the centre of town. Nice touch to have the picon in the rooms. We also ate in the Pegasus restaurant, which is superb!
Cons: It was a hot October day, and the A/C did not work in our room. The stairs to access the Breakfast room are a little steep and outdoors, but you could take the lift.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: We chose a superior room for a romantic night. We had a huge bed and large bathroom with a whirlpool bath we could both fit in. There’s champagne in the fridge you can treat yourselves to if you want to indulge whilst in the bath! DVDs are also available in reception if you fancy watching a film. There were also decanters of port in the room you could help yourself to.
Cons: could have done with some milk in the room for making coffee. As a Brit we like milk with our coffee!! But am just being picky as can’t really think of anything we didn’t like.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Pegasus restaurant was great, quite pricey but super food and extensive wine menu
Cons: One minor issue we couldn't get the whirlpool bath to work (may have been us)!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Staff were great
9.3 Excellent
Pros: The receptionist was very helpful and welcoming. When ask, she recommended a restaurant in the village square (the hotels own restaurant was fully booked) and only after we asked, she booked it on our behalf. In fact all the staff were polite and helpful. The themed room was very comfortable, clean and well kept. Everything worked and nothing looked tired or distressed. The old part of the hotel and the new extension all fitted together and complemented each other. The lit open fire in the guest living room is a nice welcoming feature, I would image in the summer the garden would be a great place to spend the evening. The breakfast had a nice selection to choose from. I especially liked the fact they had quality local produce which is far better than the normal homogeneous choices given in chain hotels. The views from the breakfast room made the room light and airy.
Cons: Nothing really except that the themed rooms are accessed via an open air walkway and the breakfast room is again accessed by going outside and up an external staircase. This really is just a very minor inconvinience especially if it was raining/ cold etc.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Extra comfy bed, superb restaurant.
Cons: Cool water for our evening shower but not a problem as very hot day.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: We loved the location, the interior design was very good, trendy, warm and welcoming. The room had a very French feel with a 4 poster in the loft, very elegant , design like in the French castle tradition. Bathroom elegant, spacious and also with shells and lovely loft feel with the original beams insight. The boutique hotel has a very good restaurant. We ate outdoors on the terrace under a leafy grand tree . The setting is near the square with all the charms .
Cons: What I found disappointing is that the breakfast room was in the new section. We much rather preffered it in the elegant restaurant of the hotel.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: A beautiful hotel, situated in the heart of this beautiful Flemish town. As Ypres seems to be getting busier and busier, this will suit travellers looking for a more peaceful base from which to explore the battlefields. The rooms are large, air conditioned and feature extremely comfortable beds. A period style decor scheme is followed throughout which makes you feel as if you’re staying in a hotel from a bygone age! Complimentary toiletries, vermouth and tea and coffee ensure all needs are met! The staff are very discreet but on hand if you need anything. This is is the perfect place to relax and unwind and is in my view worth the additional expense.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Great hotel in a great location close to all the bars and restaurants if you require them. The bedroom was most excellent with the possibly the biggest bed we have ever slept in and we found it very comfy with a great bath room all so.Breakfast was 18 euro's which we at first thought a little steep but the quality and quantity soon made us forget the price.
Cons: Nothing.
7.0 Good
Pros: Huge bed, which was very comfortable and the room was very well appointed. To get to the breakfast room, one had to walk over an exterior bridge and negotiate some very very steep steps, although there was an elevator.
Cons: The smell of sewage when entering the room was unpleasant.

Cons: room price not so cheap
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Very quit environment. Friendly hosts. The swimming pool is an added value!
Cons: Food prices in the restaurant are rather high.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Good location for visiting Ypres and battle locations. Breakfast included was of a good standard. Very easy roads to reach hotel from Calais
Cons: The property is in the middle of nowhere which was not an issue for us as we were out all day but some may prefer to be within a town with restaurants and facilities within walking distance.
5.0 Okay
Pros: The hotel itself is nice, it's a family business and they're trying their best but they should hire extra people to help them during peak periods. The room was not really clean. I received a raw steak instead of a medium cooked steak. There's no possibility to get an extra key for the room. Like I said before, it's a family business and they are trying to do everything themselves, i have respect for that but if you're paying a high price and get a response after a mistake from them that it's because they didn't sleep enough last night because there's too much work... I'm sorry, with all respect but then I shouldn't pay a full price either.
Cons: Raw cooked meal, dusty bedroom and dirty toilet, the staff that didn't sleep enough at night and forget you several times during breakfast
10.0 Excellent
Pros: It was very clean and modern.
Cons: Nothing
2.5 Mediocre
Pros: Leaving!
Cons: Dreadful, run-down location. Cobwebs in the bathroom because there are many corn spiders. The bathroom extractor fan stays on night & day so slept very poorly. We were told this is Belgian law. Our room was at the front of the hotel with a small patio. As there is no air-con, we opened the door for air & were plagued with flies. There is a pool - but no showers, changing rooms etc, so you would have to traipse through the hotel wet. If you want a robe - another 3E. If you want slippers, another 2E. If you want a sauna - 20E for 2 people. Dined at the hotel as local choice is limited but it is a small choice, very overpriced & you are asked to tell them what you want ahead of time. We had Duck (27E) It was not rare but raw. Sent it back for a bit more cooking but it was very tough by then. The hotel is locked down at night & there is no reception - just emergency service number. At breakfast, butter is rationed. Boiled eggs & omelet very 'snotty' & not for me. The hotel makes you pay when you check-in because they know you would leave if you knew the set up. All in all, could not get out quickly enough.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The location over looking the fields near the French border and easy access to Ypres and Menin gate. Also the staff and breakfast was perfect and a nice indoor pool.

Pros: Lovely house with large courtyard and out buildings along own road sitting surrounded by trees and fields. Lovely location in the country side. Easy to get to Ypres. Own little area outside own little house. Play equipment for children in the garden so good for families. Bed very comfortable. WIFI connection good. Lots of character. Family very relaxed and friendly. Great place to relax and chill for a few days after seeing local WW1 sites. Drink wine/beer in the sun or read a book. Able to use main house kitchen for simple meal preparation. Tea, coffee and kettle in room with fridge with complementary beer. Good belgium beer as well. Nice breakfast. Nothing too much trouble.
Cons: Loved it all.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: The glass of wine on arrival was a nice surprise, and also having the wood-burner lit for us made it very cosy. We had very spacious accommodation with a bath as well as a shower room. Coffee machine, tea facilities and a refrigerator were all plus-points in the room. A flexible breakfast time, with eggs cooked while we were at the table, were all very helpful. The owners were very attentive and obliging. We had food provided for us on the morning when we needed to go out early. Although the location is not central it is convenient; only 10-15 minutes drive into Ieper. A good base for cyclists and runners. It took us less than an hour to drive to Dunkirk. If you come with 'rural and rustic' in mind, and not 'Ritz' you will not be disappointed. Would be more than happy to return.
Cons: No negatives.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: We left this place very happy and satisfied. We loved the rustic style and there was a huge garden. We were allowed to go everywhere around the houses. Bart and his wonderful wife are the best hosts we ever met. We had a suite with an oven which was already heated, when we arrived. The icing on the cake was the selfmade wine we got as a welcome drink. I hope we will stay at this place again when we are in Belgium.

Pros: On arrival Myself, Dad and Brother were met by the owner and shown our room, which i may add was quite impressive. We were then offered a glass of wine each which was a very welcome surprise and the bottle left for us to finish (a very nice touch). The owners Son even offered to drive us into town if required, again over and above what you would expect. Breakfast was very good, with plenty of chose.
Cons: There was nothing to dislike

8.0 Excellent
Pros: Excellent location. Parked right outside. Free after 6pm-9 am. Have stayed several times and will use again.
Cons: 2 flights of stairs and no lift.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: nice room, parking very close to the hotel, hotel very close to the main town square that is full of places to eat and drink in. A very nice bathroom, reasonably quiet. I asked for a top floor room and after some communication problems with the hosts it turned out I am getting the 1st floor room but there was no one above us, so all was well in the end.
Cons: A bit difficult to track down anyone to talk to as the hosts were busy with serving a large party of guests in their restaurant.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Comfortable bed. Brilliant shower. Excellent location.
Cons: Steep stairs, no lift, 2nd floor but would forgo due to location. Parking was not free, however paid 1euro on road parking from 4pm Friday valid to 9am Monday.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: All the staff were very friendly and we were really looked after by Martine. We arrived on motorbikes and although she was very busy, she sorted out some secure storage for the bikes. the bar area had atmosphere and a wide range of Belgian beers. The breakfast was excellent and Martine even cooked a fresh egg to have with the large choice of other breakfast items. We stayed here and caught the train to Ieper (Ypres) which was very easy to do and only took 10 minutes.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: No room numbers - each room was named after a famous Belgian beer. Cool concept.
Cons: No elevator/lift. Stairs were very steep.
5.5 Okay

Cons: Room hadn't been dusted for a while. Flooring in bedroom wasn't clean. Shower very small.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Comfy bed. Nice warm room. Central location. Quiet. Easy check-in.
Cons: Although adequate, more plug sockets in the room for charging devices would have been nice. There was nobody to speak to when checking out. My card was charged and the card and room receipts left on the reception desk for me to take when dropping off my room key.
