10.0 Excellent
Pros: Very warm welcome from the owners Tina and Andy who are a lovely friendly couple. Nothing too much trouble. Our room and en-suite was spotlessly clean and tastefully decorated as is the rest of the property. Lovely soft white towels. Great breakfast with lots to choose from. Bonus was Tina’s treat of home made fudge. Thank you Tina and Andy for making our few days away so enjoyable. Will definitely be returning. Val and Les
Cons: Nothing. Everything was spot on.

The location is good, only a few minutes walk from Criccieth High street. A special treat was Tina's homemade fudge which we took on our long coastal walks. Very much appreciated. Tina and Andy are lovely hosts very friendly and welcoming.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Tina and Andy are the perfect hosts - welcoming, friendly and helpful, whilst taking a genuine interest in their guests. My room was light and airy and had a comfortable bed, en-suite bathroom with a good shower, TV and tea and coffee making facilities. It was prepared to a high standard each day. The breakfast was very good, cooked by Tina and served by Andy. There was good choice of items including cereals, juices, yogurt, fresh fruit salad (lovely) as well as a full cooked breakfast made from top-quality, locally sourced ingredients. Various other breakfast options were also offered.
Cons: Nothing - staying at Bron Rhiw was a very good experience and I thoroughly enjoyed my stay.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: The room was beautifully decorated, really large and very comfortable. Breakfast was delicious with plenty of choice. Host was wonderfully friendly, helpful and welcoming. No hesitation in recommending. Wish we could revisit.
5.4 Okay
Pros: Great location
Cons: Our bedroom was on the second floor (very steep stairs) and had a sea view. The windows rattled very badly meaning we had little sleep. The useable space in the room was pretty tight. The only fruit juice at breakfast was orange which I cannot have. The only choice of cooked breakfast was the English or parts thereof. The sausages were not good quality and the bacon was like leather suggesting it had been kept warm and then served on cold plates. The shower consisted of a mixer hose off the bath taps which was difficult to put on the holder and was too small to use as a proper shower and it was very difficult to control the temperature. There were biscuits on the tray in the bedroom on the first day only and the toilet roll was rubbish. It appears the owner is cutting costs wherever possible and charging high rates.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Staff were very friendly and helpful.
Cons: Main road location, so a little noisy, as window had to be open due to heat.

7.5 Good
Pros: Arrived late due to travelling after work on Friday evening of bank holiday weekend and check in was efficient and easy. Good sized clean room and bed in historic centrally located pub/hotel with modern clean bright bathroom , bottle of water which was much appreciated and hospitality tray. Great views of Criccieth and sea from window . Breakfast buffet plentiful and breakfast staff very polite ,attentive and efficient
Cons: Room was very hot even though the window was open to its maximum when we arrived , luckily we had an electric fan with us which we had just purchased but still very hot and had very thick duvet on bed . We had to remove duvet from cover and sleep under just the duvet cover. Room felt quite dated and the mattress was sagging particularly on the right side . Have stayed in better quality rooms in this area for a budget of £126 per night
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Good Breakfast choice Location excellent for reaching other locations
Cons: Nothing really maybe a little sprucing up in certain area's
8.3 Excellent
Cons: Late arrival , difficult to find parking at or near hotel
7.5 Good
Pros: Pleased with our 2 nights stay. Location is very convenient to explore North Wales. Room is spacious and clean. Having a restaurant in hotel is a great bonus. Evening meal is delicious, fairly priced and well presented. Breakfast is good too. There is a free car park on the back of hotel.
Cons: Uncomfortable pillows.
7.5 Good
Pros: Staff where polite and rooms kept very clean thanks, décor very dated which was a shame as a lovely positioned hotel, and rid of the energy saving light bulbs there are led bulbs about that give a better light not like the room is lit by candles
Cons: Dividing bedroom walls thin, was kept awake all week hearing the person next door snore, well atleast he slept well, food was good but would have liked a better selection and better desert's I would have liked to have seen fresh fish not in batter with fresh new potatoes and veg or more salids, like I said food was cooked ok just selection dated, spent more time driving to other restaurants that did do fresh fish or duck or rabbit etc which was a shame because after spending all day climbing and was worn out all I wanted was a nice meal and to sit down and have a drink or two.parking well that was a challenge to be able to park in the hotel car park where you stay,it should just be for paying guests, sorry but not staff etc.

Pros: Loved it. We thought we’d book a room in the hotel only to find we were in a 2 bedroomed cottage. Sometimes when a web site says ‘ hotel is 1 mile from the harbour.’ you yeh right! This is one of those rare occasions when the info is spot on.

Pros: Brand New furniture, lovely room. Right halfway between porthmadog and portmeiron
Cons: Flawless

Pros: Really enjoyed our stay, perfectly located for us on our trip. I feel the room was fine for a short stay so would recommend to anyone just looking for a pitstop whilst they explore! Staff were lovely! The room smelt a little bit damp but it wasn’t a huge issue. Could do with a little fridge and bottled water in the rooms. Other than that it was a very nice stay. Thanks so much! Also staff were super lovely across email!
Cons: Check out is quite early.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: We had a meal in the restaurant I had fish and chips and it was the largest fish I have ever seen the food was fantastic.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Location was perfect in the square. Meals were great and well priced. Very pretty quite town off the highway. Staff were very friendly and helpful. I would stay again if travelling through Wales.
Cons: Stairs are a bit steep getting to your room.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: The restaurant for meals and breakfast were very good. the room and bathroom again were very good.
Cons: Car parking was not ideal, I had to park a few hundred yards away on the streets. I chose the hotel because I thought that I would only have to climb one flight of stairs and could park outside, neither was the case. My room was in another building and up two flights, rather than the one in the original photo. Also not in Porthmadoc but in Tremadoc which was too far to walk so I had to pay car parking for my visits to the railways.
5.8 Okay
Cons: Room wasn't clean.

5.4 Okay
Pros: Got to admit, there isn't much to like about this hotel. If pressed, I would say that the location was okay.
Cons: Very limited parking. Couldn't park at the hotel car park as a result & was told to park in the road but move it first thing in the morning to avoid a parking ticket or use a public car park some distance away for which I'd have to pay. They stop serving evening meals just after 7pm. The room we stayed in had a humming noise all through the night possibly from a generator right outside our window.

9.6 Excellent
Pros: Food excellent. A particular mention for Zoe who was extremely efficient at her job.
Cons: General hotel decor very tired
5.0 Okay
Pros: Prime location for visiting Snowdonia. Bathroom and bedding very clean. Hairdryer good. Breakfast was really excellent with a great choice and plenty of it. Staff were very friendly and helpful.
Cons: This hotel is somewhat shabby and in need of a complete refurbishement. Although it was hoovered, the old carpet in the bedroom was not one I wanted to walk on barefoot when coming out of the shower! The old sash windows, whilst pretty to look at, are difficult to adjust - and only single glazed so I wouldn't stay here in winter! The most disappointing thing was the lack of wi -fi signal anywhere in the hotel - even in the lounge or breakfast room where it was supposed to work. We were told that tis was to do with the weather - but I myself live in a rural and often wet hilly area which has difficulties with signals and we have no problem with the system we use for wi fi here. This can absolutely be fixed if the owner would upgrade it - preferably password protected, which the current one isn't.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Parking was good. Room very clean. Good choice for Breakfast and friendly service.
Cons: No shower head in bathroom.
3.8 Mediocre
Pros: Location
Cons: Bedroom • lock on the bedroom door is faulty making it difficult to open • The bedroom has a nasty smell, the window was open & had to remain open the whole time we were there as the smell was offensive. • The tv remote control was faulty- despite replacing the batteries it failed to work • The picture on the TV was wrong – heads of people standing were cutoff • The curtains did not close fully- leaving light shining in at the sides • The carpet was disgusting - worn & shabby, I couldn’t walk barefoot as I believed the carpet was dirty. • There was a stain on one of the duvet covers, although the bedding appeared to be clean • There was only one bedside table/ lamp • The lighting in the light was poor • Window frames were dirty • Kettle did not close properly so leaked Wallpaper ripped Bathroom • Toilet seat loose & moves • No extractor fan • Unable to open window • Shower pressure poor – water temperature inconsistent- ran hot then cold then warm throughout shower. Breakfast • Breakfast on first days – the plate was very hot but sausage was cold & the rest of the food was tepid, the scrambled egg was runny & there was no butter available. General • At breakfast on the first morning the staff were incredibly busy, people had to wait longer to be served & there were difficulties with seating guests • The WiFi which is advertised is only available in the ‘pink’ room • The carpet in the lift & hallway are dirty • The décor & furniture throughout the hotel is in a poor state. Paid £268 for two nights - terrible experience
6.3 Good
Pros: The breakfast
Cons: The smell outside our room
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Comfortable hotel in beautiful Snowdonia. Breakfast is really good- there are hot dishes served a la carte as well a buffet. Lounge area is very cosy. Rooms are reasonably spacious and come with a very handy tea making kit.
Cons: Staff didn’t make us feel particularly welcome. We were told at dinner that ‘the chef currently has enough orders’ and that we can try coming back later.
5.0 Okay
Pros: Very good location for doing everything ‘Snowdon’ and car parking included.
Cons: It’s a tired and slightly sad hotel. Where updates had been attempted in our bathroom, black mould was already accumulating. The whole place just needs some character and tlc pumped back into it.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Helpful staff, great breakfast selection and quality of cooked breakfast selections very high, good chef and waiting staff friendly despite being obviously short staffed. Great location for Snowdon in the pretty town of Beddgelert, nice bar and reception area. Second room we stayed in on our second night (no.22) much better than previous night (no.23). Lots of character in the hotel.
Cons: Quality of first room we stayed in, hotel full of character however in need of an update. Hope it has one as massive potential. Would stay again.
7.1 Good
Pros: Friendly staff Excellent food
Cons: Check in confusion Dinner order lost, no dinner

Cons: The whole place needs updating & I didn’t like the BED BUGS at all. Apart from that the toilet was black! We were going to stay 2 nights but only stayed for 1 as per the above comments. Also having been bitten by the bed bugs thought I would have been given my money back for the first night but was told I wouldn’t be charged for the second one only.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Location Views Staff
Cons: All good
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Good beds, lovely to lie back and see the sea. Made to feel very welcomed. Certainly did the job for relaxing break for more than the two of us that stayed with you.
Cons: Lighting. Sue does a lot of colouring. She found evenings difficult.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: The room was splendid in size and comfort; we chose to have a sea view and it was lovely going to sleep with the sound of the waves on the beach! The menu, though limited, was home made and beautifully cooked. The interior of the hotel was spotlessly clean and has a pleasant decor. They have binoculars in the lounge to look out for dolphins in the bay.
Cons: The exterior looked a bit sad and in need of TLC but don't let that put you off. The windows could do with a good clean too.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Breakfast was excellent, as was location. It was good to find a genuine single room which was of a reasonable size, and with an impressive view of the splendid castle. Staff were friendly and very helpful
Cons: The big problem for this hotel is its external appearance which is frankly shabby. Don't let this put you off - inside it is extremely well appointed and excellent in every way
7.1 Good
Pros: owners were nice, location was good, it was reasonably clean.
Cons: beds were quite uncomfortable, bunk bed was super squeaky, tv in the room was tiny, no shower.
6.7 Good
Pros: Staff very friendly and breakfast excellent
Cons: Very run down the price doesn’t justify the venue the plugs behind the bed had an inch of dust which was disappointing
5.8 Okay
Pros: Location is excellent. Very basic but cheap hotel
Cons: The shower and toilet were mouldy and could do with a good clean. Carpets threadbare. Very basic hotel. The wifi did not work in the bedrooms and as it is difficult to get a mobile signal this was important.
8.2 Excellent
Cons: Outside could do with a lick of paint
5.0 Okay
Pros: Enjoyed the bacon toast for breakfast
Cons: The whole hotel is tired and needs some TLC
4.2 Okay
Pros: Meals (breakfast & dinner) were on the edge (poor)
Cons: Fcilities. Meals. Staff.
