Pros: The location was convenient for motorway and easy links to Liverpool & for visiting family. Staff were really friendly & helpful, especially the lady who checked us in on the first day. Breakfast was good & it was also free which was a great bonus
Cons: The bathroom toilet didn’t flush well and left paper behind so needed multiple flushed to clear it. There could have been more fruit available at breakfast as on the 2nd day there were only apples left

6.0 Good
Cons: Charged £29 for breakfast in room. Had already paid for breakfast, however it was £10 / plate to deliver. They told me it would be £10 when I rang reception, which was already ridiculously expensive. Asked for 1 big bottle of water, got 2 and was charged £9 (incredible).
9.0 Excellent
Pros: Room serviced breakfast was awesome, served at the time we wanted. It was wonderful all around.
7.0 Good
Pros: The hotel was spotless and such good value for money. The pool was empty due to the virus so on our first night we went there and it was just the two of us. The bar man on the Friday and also the girl on the spa - both lovely and really friendly.
Cons: Due to the coronavirus - not the hotels fault, the spa shut along with the restaurant. This meant we had to have breakfast in bed. We’ve staying in plenty of hotels and not once had breakfast in our room but we were happy to do this as the rules changed to keep us and the staff safe. When our breakfast arrived, there was only one item of breakfast each on the plate. I called reception and spoke to a rude lady who in no uncertain terms advised me this is how they serve breakfast to the room - fair enough but there’s no indication of this anywhere and if it’s the first time it’s being delivered to the room - how am I meant to know? I don’t work there! She sounded like an older lady and her attitude was disgusting. She kindly sent us some more food but this was only one sausage each.

7.1 Good
Pros: Location and gym very good
Cons: Was put in a room designed for wheelchair access and this isn’t very good for a 6 foot man when using a sink 2 foot of the floor
7.0 Good
Pros: When we upgraded our room we were satisfied
Cons: The hotel looks tired and needs refurbishing
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Location was ideal. Had need to be in Liverpool city centre fairly early on Saturday and so opted for this hotel as it gave me a less risky option than travelling and being at the mercy of traffic jams.
Cons: After booking (where I didn't chose to add breakfast) I received an email 'offer'. It was to bolt on breakfast with a 25% discount --- so the offer was £7.50. I decided I should bolt on, so followed the offer and got confirmation back. I checked with the lady at reception on arrival regarding the breakfast, and she said it was added ok. After checkout and leaving the hotel I noticed that my email invoice said that my breakfast was £15 !!! I emailed village hotels, who apparently forwarded my complaint/query to the hotel and i was told to expect contact direct from the hotel. Well, nothing happened, so I emailed Village hotels again to ask if they could chase this up .... nothing. So, sorry Village Inns...you have had enough time and opportunities to respond, but clearly don't care about over charging guests for breakfasts. There will be other visits to Liverpool for the same purpose in future; but I shall be selecting a different hotel.
4.2 Okay
Pros: This hotel has lovely staff, I feel like they are having to cope with a huge amount of complaints constantly due to the standard of the hotel. It’s very unfair they have to bear the brunt of an outdated hotel. It is like no other village hotel I’ve visited. The decor is very behind, the shower, taps, doors and locks are years old and not working consistently. It’s unfair the staff have to deal with all of this when the real issue is this hotel is in need of a major revamp.
Cons: The shower was full of limescale, the heating didn’t work, the decor is miles behind all other village hotels I’ve stayed at. The spa was awful, the jacuzzi was freezing and the staff their appeared to have lost the will to live over complaints. The food is expensive and not on a par with the prices.
4.0 Okay
Pros: 90 pounds not worth the money at all. The food an bar was the only good thing about the lot.

Pros: Small but fairly nice gym with pool and spa area. Evening meal was very good. Staff very friendly and welcoming in all areas we used (gym/spa, bar, restaurant, main reception). WI Fi worked well in room.
Cons: Cooked breakfast was poor, cardboard hash browns and what tasted like powdered scrambled egg. Room is very average and main section has barely any lighting so it is permanently dull. Sauna was broken. Resented paying £5 to park.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: The room was amazing.... perfect for my needs
5.0 Okay
Pros: The bar staff were sweet.
Cons: My room was cold. I asked the receptionist to turn on but nothing was for. I had to sleep with two duvets. The water was lukewarm. The room was nosies - other guests woke me up from 4am. The food was average - the chips were over cooked.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: The pool was great
4.0 Okay
Cons: Lift didn't work and as we had some older people in our company this made it a little difficult. Some of the lights in the room didn't work which made it difficult to get ready. Lack of staffing. Had to go on the hunt for staff when I wanted to order a drink and bar snacks. The heat in the function room was absolutely ridiculous and when mentioned to the manager he totally dismissed us, a very arrogant small man.
5.0 Okay
Pros: Good location, nice lounge , staff were all lovely! Nice atmosphere,
Cons: Bad WiFi & phone signal, Tv stations with minimal signal, very annoying! Every day the pool shared with loads of children/babies so steam room was not relaxing at all as advertised ,plus broken seats in there! Lots of stains on walls and carpets , foyer toilets not cleaned Had to search for staff when bar, food or reception was needed very under staffed!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Was just a quick overnight stay, had everything we needed for us and our two year old. Would stay there again.

7.0 Good
Pros: Friendly, helpful reception staff. Good access to motorways, plenty of parking available,
Cons: Room décor drab, despite upgrading to a Luxury room. Struggle to see how this locations maintains its 4* status. Drinks prices are on a par with Monaco, beware....
4.0 Okay
Pros: The location and the drive up to the hotel was fantastic. Reception staff were lovely. Great food!
Cons: Seemed to be a lot of problems going on at check in for at least 3 of the guests who checked in same time as me. It desperately needs a makeover. The lounge area is stuffy and doesn’t encourage you to stay for lunch. Loads of things missing from the menu though the food was nice. Drinks were expensive. Spa is a shambles. Obviously there was some cheap deal going on so it was absolutely rammed. Not enough poolside seating by a clear mile. Main area is a cold pool, steam and sauna. In the extra paid for area is a few more steam/saunas, a foot spa and ice machines. Absolutely not worth the extra fee per person for use at all! The rooms were like something out of the 80s. Carpet was threadbare in places, it was extremely basic. Such a disappointing stay.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: This weeks stay the hotel was much quieter. The staff were just as nice. Funnily enough the hotel seemed to fare better when busier.
Cons: On quieter times I think the breakfast would benefit from a more personal service for guests with individual orders.
5.0 Okay
Pros: Facilities are very dated, very noisy from outside doors when in room, toilet made terrible noise, no water supplied, fruit bowl as dated, not to fussed on evening meal but breakfast was fine, staff were lovely which played a big part of enjoying your stay otherwise the place is very dated
Cons: Staff
9.0 Excellent
Pros: The staff were all really good and friendly. This was a very busy week in the hotel. The breakfast was very hearty. The breakfast gang of Beth Steven Doreen et all worked very hard. Receptionist Kate was very attentive. We were here for valentines my birthday and a seminar where George looked after us extremely well and was a credit to the hotel.
Cons: The main entrance is a semi circle where smokers congregate and smoke and leave spent butts on the ground. The no smoking rules really need enforcing here. Also in the spa cafe the dress code should be adhered to- at the very least a dry robe.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Great staff, lovely grounds and perfect for what we wanted
9.6 Excellent
Pros: The staff, the room, the food at breakfast and dinner.
Cons: We loved the hotel and will be back.

Pros: Hospitality and food
Cons: Bigger TV in the room
6.0 Good
Pros: Spacious and comfortable and relaxed
Cons: Bland music, not quite polished
3.0 Mediocre
Pros: Everything else
Cons: It was raining and it sounded like I was sleeping next to a river as the windows were single glazed and I guess the gutters to the back were broken or poor design, it was room 31 up in what would have been the attic, poor access if you are old, the room was nice and the bed was clean. The whole point of the stay was because I was starting a new job the following day didn't want to do with 150 mile drive in the morning but I would have been better off doing that as I was up at 4am because of the noise from the gutters anyway
9.0 Excellent
Pros: Welcome,, dinner with excellent food:excellent breakfast and service....lovely personal touch of cake and card for my friend`s 70th Birthday...lovely.
Cons: I have stayed before and found everything first class. I would say the drink prices are expensive. I think folks would buy more if prices were wee bit lower.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: It was a nice quiet hotel as it was away from any hustle and bussle you get in busy areas. The place is decorated nicely. Very clean, staff friendly, cosy bed, shower has good pressure, breakfast was nice too. Didnt eat at restaurant as ordered food in. Only stayed one night.
Cons: It was not near a main road and had to drive though the quiet narrow country side roads with no lighting on for a while to get to location. I dont like driving in dark personally and rely on street lights due to poor eye sight...
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Spacious room with a lovely view, partner ordered room service and meal delivered in 15mins which also was very nice, breakfast was plenty full and very tasty, staff could not do enough for you excellent service throughout our stay

Pros: Amazing property in lovely location. Friendly and accommodating. Travelling with two small dogs and they were made very welcome
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful setting. Comfortable surroundings. Very pet friendly. Staff couldn't do enough to help. Large rooms, comfy beds. Fabulous jacuzzi bath. Breakfast is top class, one of the best!! Freshly cooked and quality ingredients.
Cons: The only downside was that the shower could only deliver tepid water at best. It was lovely to have the jacuzzi bath but in the morning we would have preferred a shower. In the middle of winter it was impossible to stand under the powerful but cold water. The room rate would be more justified and competitive if it included the cost of breakfast.
6.7 Good
Pros: Very traditional. Comfortable room. Reception staff brilliant. Very clean. Gorgeous room and view.
Cons: Ran out of parts of breakfast. Restaurant staff rude. Bar staff overwhelmed. Crumbling wall under bedroom window.

Pros: The room was a large family room with a double and single bed. Booked it due to having my 12 year old boy with me. Room large and clean, furniture was OK, a sofa was also in the room. All round very comfortable though the double bed left me with aches in the morning. My son said the single bed was one of the most comfortable he had used. The bathroom was a good size though the shower a little small for me and took quite a while to heat up. Towels were nice and fluffy and fresh. The dining/breakfast area was lovely, nicely appointed and rustic. we did not eat at the hotel other than for breakfast which was very good, nicely presented and made fresh, in all the breakfast was excellent value. The staff were very helpful and could not do enough to make sure our stay was great.
Cons: As mentioned, bed left me with aches and shower a little small for me and took a while to heat up.
