I love best western
We went to Raleigh NC, for a concert hotel room was clean, had extra towels, iron and breakfast had too many options
Can't complain it was great
Pleasantly surprised
I loved the cleanliness of the room and eating area. The food was really good. The hallway and rooms smelled fresh. Very close to lots of food and the mall was 8min away and the highway was 10 seconds away from the entrance. I would definitely stay again.
As a solo female traveler I didn't feel 100% safe because I was in a suite which was in the back of the parking lot and there were people propping the door open and sitting in the hallways. I did like that you could only get in with a key card as long as no-one had the door propped open.
No issues - clean, comfortable, reasonably priced. Not much else to ask for.
Towel Swap
The complementary breakfast was great and the room was really comfortable! Very close to downtown and had some great restaurants around it!
There was a dirty towel left in the bathroom
Great room and service "but"
The room and the friendly staff service was great. Especially the outstanding and friendly lady chef who prepared the breakfast meal. The food, beverages, cleanness and service provided by the chef were top notch. This was our 2nd stay at this location.
As much as we "did" enjoy our stay, there were a couple of items I would like to address. I was disappointed to discover we did not have a small ice box or a microwave in our room. To start we had little sleep with no food, beverage or rest prior to arriving at Best Western on July 20th. We started our day up at 1:30am to prepare for our road trip. By 6:00 am we arrived to within 20 miles East of Raleigh, we found the West bound traffic on I-40 was horrific bumper to bumper until our exit off at the I-440 exit. By the time we arrived at Best Western later that afternoon we were exhausted, due to our road trip and to my fiancee's numerous medical appointments & procedure earlier that day. After our check in we learned that a guest down the hallway from us had "2" large canine's in their room. So when anyone walked by the room the dogs would begin to bark excessively. After we obtained ice, we retired to our room and managed to obtain a meal, after which we turned in for the evening @ 5:30pm, hoping for nothing more than wonderful peace and quiet. Which we did manage to obtain for about 1 to 2 hours, after that we were woken up numerous times by loud and noisy talking guest, who opened and closed their room doors entirely to much. We would have called the front desk and complained if we were not so physically and mentally exhausted. The noise generated in the hallway seems to be amplified by small hallway. Regardless after 12:30am we were back up unable to rest any longer and began the task to prepare for our trip back home.
Noise from other guests can be an issue
The beds were comfortable and the soundproofing with the outside was perfectly adequate (and necessary given the location at the interchange of I-440 and Route 1). The free included breakfast was pretty decent, too. Good selection of beverages and healthful and non-healthful options. The hot breakfast items varied from day to day, which is nice for multi-night stays. Free wi-fi worked without issue.
Sounds traveled fairly easily from the adjoining room to ours, perhaps because there were shared doors that could allow them to be used by people traveling together. On one out of four nights, we were kept awake by the conversation of a group of men enjoying themselves until eleven or midnight, and on another out of the nights, we were awakened at 5:45 by conversation from wedding guests (a very large party was staying in multiple rooms up and down the hallway). The guests were not being obviously inconsiderate and probably had no idea how audible they were. Between them and the fairly loud AC unit, it was difficult to get enough sleep. Our other two nights were better. Possibly other rooms would not have suffered as much from this problem.
There was a police officer stationed there all night.
Everything else.
Great value and very nice stay.
The lobby was very pretty and inviting, room was clean and cozy. It was very nice to come in very late at night to find security walking the halls.
There was nothing I didn't really like, the room definitely needed more towels (only 2), and it would have been nice to have a small fridge/microwave as a bonus.
The rooms were ok
The check in process took about 30 minutes because there was only one staff member working the front desk.
Big room, rude cleaning staff
Large room, fairly nice for the price.
The hospitality staff wakes you up with 3 minutes of knocking on the door at 9 am. Checkout wasn't until 11 so this was a rude wake-up after working late.
Very close to where we needed to be. Convenient location. Staff was very courteous.
The room didn't have a refrigerator, microwave or a working coffee machine. Staff was unable to accommodate us when we wanted to heat up food in the evening. The lobby operated only during specific hours. Once the lobby, not the desk, was closed you were out of luck and any amenities not the room you went without. There was hair in the bed which lead us to believe the room was not thoroughly cleaned. The bathroom was not refreshed so we ended up spreading towels on the floor. The room felt damp which made the room uncomfortable. We didn't get a good nights sleep. We were relieved to check out.
You get what you pay for
I arrived after 10pm, and the lobby was closed. The gentleman at the window told me I could not come in after lobby hours. I had to stand outside in the rain while he fumbled through paperwork and couldn't find my reservation. I felt like a second class citizen. It was cheap, but next time I'm in the area I'll use a hotel that's not going to kick me out of the lobby.
