We booked a private double but were given our own fully equipped apartment.
The wifi signal was quite weak, but otherwise we loved it!
Very cosy little place. We stayed in the self contained studio which had a lovely king sized bed with super comfy pillows and quilt. The room had a small kitchen which we didn't use and a decent sized bathroom. Great location, walking distance to everything. We didn't arrive until after midnight and they were waiting to let us in. This is a self contained guest house though so there is nothing really in the way of services, which suited us just fine. Would stay again.
It was clean, quiet, central...perfect for us
The staff were very accomodating, and were happy to greet us, even when a flight cancellation put us in at one in the morning.
Very well located, clean, the owner was very kind and helpful, modern decoration and furniture/fittings.
Nice location. Good car parking. Friendly staff/owner. Clean, tidy. Good facilities. Quiet area.
Ran out of toilet paper and none anywhere in rooms.
No one there when arriving. No breakfast but they advertice for it, bathroom (enter shower is dangerous, mirror too high, sink too small), thin wall's, noice. Steep stairway. Tv very small. No radio.
Very comfortable and clean rooms with all modern amenities in the shared kitchen and bath. The modern Scandinavian design of the rooms looks just like in the posted pictures. The location is very convenient in a small quiet street in walking distance of the center of Reykjavik.
No staff at all. The owner who sublets these rooms lives somewhere else so you should only book these rooms if you do not need assistance during your trip. Also, you need to be able to mount the stairs as the rooms are located on the 2nd floor without elevators.
The guest house was newly renovated and very clean. I liked that the owners lit candles in our room before we arrived. Gave it a homey feel.
Some suggestions for improvement would be to have a bigger sign in front of the Guesthouse as it was not immediately obvious. Would also suggest a better shower curtain in the bathroom as it is difficult to shower without wetting the floor for other guests.
the outstanding personal service and helpfulness of the staff, as well as the ideal location in Reykjavik
Located in Reykjavik (Reykjavík 101), Captain Reykjavik Guesthouse is within a 15-minute walk of Reykjavik City Hall and National Museum of Iceland. The front desk is staffed during limited hours.
Policies vary by room type and provider.
