This gracious 1930s hotel is located in the beaufiful square of Austurvollur, in the heart of Reykjavik and across from Althingi, the Icelandic parliament and the cathedral.
Pros: The room was large by European standards. Staff were pleasant and helpful. Great location. Would definitely stay here again.
Pros: Clean rooms, nice decorCons: Not best value for the money. Breakfast expensive
Pros: Quiet, private.Cons: I arrived at 7am but paid for the night before because I needed to sleep. At 12 noon it here was a nock on the door and a moment later a phone call. They wanted me to check out even though I had a five day reservation . Actually should not of been charged for the first day because I didn't get what I paid for, sleep.
The staff was always to busy on the computer to acknowledge guest unless you engaged them.
Quiet, great locationPros: Great location. Quiet and close to everything. Room was adequate for my purposes and comfortable to sleep in. The staff was helpful and friendly. Will definitely come back.
Pros: The location is great Cons: There are so many more hotels in the area that in our opinion had much more to offer. We experienced a few hotels in the Reykjavik and the others were similar in price (if not less) and the staff was so wonderful and friendly, rooms were above and beyond and the amenities were far superior. Overall would give this a 3 out of 5 star.
