Lovely old and traditional property. Quiet location in nice gardens. Plenty of room to sit outside. Hot and strong shower. Open log fire (although we didn't use it). Uncomplicated check in and check out. If you had a Portuguese granny whose house had hardly changed in the last 50 years this would be it! This place will not suit you if you are looking for modern comforts or can't cope with a few bugs and less than sparkling cleanliness. However, if you want a chance to break away from bland modernity and experience how people used to live this is your ideal opportunity.
Our first shower was cold as the water heater (hidden behind a cupboard) was left unplugged, as was the fridge too. House could have done with "airing" before our arrival as it was a bit musty. Only heating is the log fire (downstairs) - it got a bit cold in the bedrooms.
Really good nights in a comfortable bed. The casas are classic, we enjoyed it a lot. Nice place to relax. We enjoyed the possibility to prepare out on meals.
We didn't know we could find the key in the house and didn't know which house we had so somebody had to come. Which was no problem for us but could be better communicated. The shower was cold, and the crane was not well closing. Maybe also good to know is that the bread toaster was not working.
