Pros: The location for us was good It was pet friendly which is what we need Receptionist was welcoming Had grass area for the dogs
Cons: There wasn't much really and what there was was nothing to do with the hotel itself We had ants in the room but the hotel came and sorted it We stayed for 2 nights the 2nd night there was someone urinating outside not far from our room not pleasant having to walk past them The hotel was in the right place for us and was pet friendly but the rooms are a little on the small side especially the bathrooms Wouldn't say it was family friendly it seemed a lot of workers stayed there The light in the room is very bright no side lamps

Pros: close to the highway however in a quiet area. instead of having breakfirst there go into the other side of the road to the bakery
Cons: the hotel is a bit old. I've stayed in room 8 which is in the ground floor. it's a bit poor in terms of furniture and the bathroom is old.

Cons: Could do with a paint on outside
9.0 Excellent
Pros: It was right by the motorway so makes it easy for travel. The staff were very friendly and went out their way to help with anything requested.
7.0 Good
Pros: The bedroom was sufficient for the one night stay for passing through the area. The restaurant was good, service was good, friendly and nothing was any trouble even though it was busy. Near by shops, petrol station and buses available. It was clean, slept alright and managed to shower although bathroom needed up dating.
Cons: No hair dryer in room, wooden floors which made it noisy when other guest had shoes on or moving chairs. The exterior looked a little run down and needed improvement.
7.0 Good
Pros: Location
Cons: Duck at dinner was very tough
3.0 Mediocre
Pros: Staff were friendly, helpful and attentive. The restaurant was modern and the food good. The buffet starters were particularly good.
Cons: The building was old and unkempt. The room was dull, miserable and outdated. It was very noisy. In particular the chair at the desk did not have any ferrels or protection on the legs. Consequently, every time the chair was moved in and out on the wooden floor, the noise was grating. We had a ground floor room and were disturbed until the early hours of the morning by the man upstairs, scraping the chair and talking on the phone. Breakfast was expensive.
7.0 Good
Pros: Fine for an overnight stay, nothing fancy, clean room and the bed was very comfortable, I didn't want to get out of it the next morning

Pros: I stayed here as I was attending a funeral at 08.00 Friday 24th. The hotel was chosen as being good value for money and 5 minutes drive from the crematorium - the highlight was the amazing choice at petit-dejeuner!!!
Cons: Nothing not too like - the staff were very friendly and the hotel came up to my expectations
4.0 Okay
Pros: Clean
Cons: The room was dilapidated ... broken mirrors, broken dressing table/desk Extra single bed which was unasked for making getting into the double bed very awkward. Also hardly any walking space in the room because of the extra bed. No proper pillows, just cushions.
4.0 Okay
Pros: The breakfast was good
Cons: Bedroom

Pros: Well we arrived in time of crisis-in the virus pandemic so nothing to compare with usual situation. Hotel near motorway easy to find on routes to Spain from which we had just come heading for Brittany ports. Its an Ibis so you know what you will get and why you would chose one. In the circumstances everyone did the best they could so no complaints-good effort cheerfully delivered. The beds as per are SO comfortable!

Pros: Great 1 night stop just off motorway south. Clean, tidy and near a Lidl for stocks. Beds excellent.
Cons: Food a little ropey
7.0 Good
Pros: The room was comfortable and a reasonable size. Dinner was tasty and well prepared.
Cons: The room heater was noisy when it was running (even though in low fan mode) and it had to be left on because of the cold weather. Throughout the night it switched on and off. Luckily I was so tired I only woke a couple of times. Breakfast was adequate but not as much selection as in other motels of the same calibre. The shower towel was on the small side and thin - only just adequate to get dry.

Kyriad Saintes - Saintes - Building

6.9 Good (1,121 reviews)
C$ 75+
Overview Reviews
With a stay at Kyriad Saintes in Saintes, you'll be within a 5-minute drive of Saintes Amphitheatre and Saint-Eutrope Church. The front desk is staffed during limited hours. Free self parking is available onsite.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We love it here but we’re sorry that after being told not to come to France It’s a shame the reservation could not be moved for us until later in the year when hopefully things have settled down.
7.0 Good
Pros: If you're prepared to look beyond the immediate appearance, it would be churlish to complain, given the price you pay. The room, although small, was warm and clean and the bed was comfortable. Bathroom too was tiny, but again, the shower was hot and we had decent towels. Breakfast perfectly acceptable. We would really love to know what has happened to this Kyriad Hotel. It has so much potential, with loads of indoor and outside space and a decent swimming pool. But it has obviously failed to update which seems a shame. Bunnies running about on the hill an added bonus!!!
Cons: On arrival the outside looked a bit tired but we expected that from previous reviews.
5.0 Okay
Pros: Location was ok
Cons: No restaurant service and no bar service. They should have opened as guests were hungry after a long day travelling. The hotel I stayed at in Spain the previous night looked after their guests properly without putting them at risk of the corona virus. Just to make things worse, I was charged 10 Euro because I had my dog with me - far too much to charge in my opinion.
6.0 Good
Cons: Dirty and dark toilet. Personel speaking only French.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Cleanliness of room.
Cons: External state of the complex. Shabby.
7.0 Good
Pros: The room was comfortable and clean.
Cons: The toilet and shower small. The outside area was not kept neat and tidy, it did not give a good impression. It made the hotel look dirty and run down.
2.0 Mediocre
Pros: We slept
Cons: Tiny room even smaller ensuite, mattress collapsed on side. Reception and bar and therefore dining area smelt of smoking so eat elsewhere despite having a restaurant being the reason we chose it. Charge fo our dog was a bit steep considering the quality of the place. Won't return.
7.0 Good
Pros: Such good value for money. We weren’t expecting much but compared with pricier (and snootier) places we’ve stayed it was really good. So many hotels don’t have tea making in the room - this one did. So many had average heating - the heaters here worked and we told how to adjust them! The receptionist was cheerful and friendly despite our late arrival (unlike the overpriced place the night before). The TV channels were French but at least we had a better choice with subtitles (no dubbing). The location was convenient for centre ville but outside town enough to avoid noise. Honestly we think this place is underrated.
Cons: Nothing for the price.
5.0 Okay
Pros: Restaurant was the best part of our stay. Our room was warm
Cons: The external appearance was very poor we almost drove away but did decide to give venue benefit of doubt. The rooms are very dated and bathroom could definitely do with an update

Cons: Pillow could be more comfortable
8.8 Excellent
Pros: the location was perfect, the room was clean and comfortable and the atmosphere very friendly
Cons: my room was on the 1st floor, the shower was on the ground floor -would have been ok for 1/2 nights but not for 5
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Enjoyed my stay and was well looked after by the owner, couldn't have been more helpful with ideas for things to do, train times etc. Breakfast was very good and I enjoyed sitting in the lovely garden
Cons: Good value for the price - no complaints
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Easy to find, friendly owner, very good shower
Cons: noisy plumbing, only one toilet and shower for nine bedrooms but didn't have to wait for the facilities whilst I was there. The car parking requires the host to let you in and out; didn't like to bother her to be honest so parked in the street.
7.9 Good
Pros: Very basic accommodation with simple rooms that include private washing basin and bidet, but shared toilet. However, it has great value for money and very nice hostess!

Pros: The convenience for an overnight stay en-route via auto-route to Spain. Although on a fairly busy and very convenient roundabout, it was actually quiet in the hotel. Staff efficient and very welcoming once we gained access to the hotel. Continental breakfast was very good. Easy parking area. Great steakhouse next door.
Cons: The hotel was closed when we arrived so after a long trip so we had to visit the Campanile across the road to get something to drink and sit. It was very hot indeed when we stayed so it was a shame that the pool was closed.

Right near the station with free partying at the weekend and very quiet. No air-con but fan in room which helped to keep us cool. Breakfast at €8.50 was very good value: hot drinks, juice, croissant, bread, cheese, jam, honey, yogurt, cake.... I hope I haven’t forgotten anything! Saintes is a fantastic place with an amazing Roman amphitheatre and lots of bars and restaurants in the medieval part of the city. Great place to stay on the way back to Cherbourg.

A stay at Brit Hotel Bleu Nuit places you in the heart of Saintes, within a 10-minute walk of Saint-Eutrope Church and Saintes Amphitheatre. Featured amenities include complimentary newspapers in the lobby, a library, and an elevator.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: The staff were excellent, the two rooms placed next to each other and away from other guests, the beds were super comfortable, the breakfast was good, the free parking around the corner was a real bonus, and the location in Saintes was perfect for exploring the city centre and the amphitheatre at the other end of the city. We really loved staying here and would stay here again as well as recommending others to too.
Cons: The lift was a little dodgy and only worked sometimes - inconvenient with 5 children under 10 and a pregnant wife. Still it worked when we really needed it which was on arrival with all our bags and on departure with all our bags too. Minor point: the coffee in the room was *yuk* - please think about getting coffee bags; they're so good and it's such a better experience to have access to ground coffee.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We had a balcony room and sat outside with an early morning coffee (had to buy from outside the hotel) in comfy chairs with an excellent view of the avenues leading from the hotel. The hotel was situated approximately quarter of a mile from the main part of town but was easy to walk to.
Cons: Nothing.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: the bed is very comfortable, me and my daughter only stay at here one night, but its position is good to find restaurant to have dinner.

Pros: The room was very clean and had all the things you could ask for (TV, wifi, water heater with some tea or instant coffee, shower gel, etc). The breakfast was good and ready at a time of our own request.
Cons: The room ceiling was a bit low at some points, which was less comfortable for us tall Dutch people.

Pros: Located in a beautiful rural area with rolling hills. Great for bicyling. Owners are lovely and want to ensure your comfort. They speak English. Very clean with upgraded bathrooms while maintaining its 19th century charm. Private parking that can accommodate larger vehicles. Beds are comfortable. Breakfast was very nice with warm croissants, fruit & homemade jams. Half hour to Cognac to visit distilleries. Ate at the Bistro La Maison de Claude on Rue Grande in Cognac - excellent.
Cons: Beds are a bit low to the ground but comfortable mattresses. Some stairs/steps.

Pros: The location of the property is well situated. The stone structure has a charming and romantic exterior. The leek soup was delicious. The owner was very welcoming and cares for his guests.
Cons: We stayed in a family room off of a multi-purpose storage area. Although clean and comfortable our room lacked the charm of the main house with stone walls and wood beams.

Pros: Lovely place. Manfred cooked us a delightful meal. Well come again if we’re down that way.
Cons: Just a little far out of Saintes.

Pros: We enjoyed dinner on the evening of our one night stay which was SUPERB. The owner had worked as a chef! The property was clean and tidy and on the edge of a small rural village. Quiet, which was what we wanted and a convenient place to break our journey. Charming hosts.
