Our biggest regret was being able to stay only one night. Despite that, this is a wonderful small hotel, with helpful, wonderful staff who seem actually to seek opportunities to be of assistance--a rarity! We were offered to take along an umbrella when rain threatened our sightseeing on foot. Our luggage was held for us during the day while we toured the city. The valet was a hard-working older gentleman who worked hard loading all our suitcases from our long travels in Spain. We would more than happily stay at this marvelous hotel again in a heartbeat!
The Hotel Don Gregorio was worth every penny--a glass of cava was offered upon arrival, our rooms were spotless, spacious and very accommodating, linens, towels, etc. were plentiful, the breakfast splendid in choices, the staff so helpful in so many ways.
Self-parking is not recommended. The public parking garages are small and cramped from an American's viewpoint. The valet parking was very helpful as the location of the hotel is in the middle of important tourist spots in a very active part of the city.
With a stay at Don Gregorio in Salamanca (Old Town), you'll be steps from San Esteban Convent and 7 minutes by foot from Plaza Mayor. Featured amenities include complimentary wired Internet access, a business center, and complimentary newspapers in the lobby. Self parking (subject to charges) is available onsite.
