Nice little hotel in Nob Hill area. Lively atmosphere with music playing in the lobby area and wine tasting Clean rooms with enough space Plenty of coffee shops etc. nearby Easy parking in adjacent garage
Area is interesting but a bit unsettling to have people with mental health and/or drug issues wandering the streets San Francisco's homeless problems are also on full show in this area and while it didn't feel threatening to me (I'm used to Seattle) it could be something to consider.
We really enjoyed the local artists and musicians coming to the Hotel every evening from 5:30 pm - My mum not being very mobile allowed us to enjoy some entertainment in the evening. This was one of my main reason to initially book with The Carlton Hotel on Sutter Street. We also found the facility really nice and rooms spacious and clean plus beds were very comfortable. The other great point is hotel staff at front desk being really helpful and friendly and also made you feel very welcome as a guest.
The person taking orders and serving breakfast in the restaurant section seemed very stressed the morning we came in and not very friendly. We ended up not having breakfast in the hotel as we did not feel comfortable. For Dinner, there was a reasonable selection, however most were spicy and my mum unfortunately could not eat that type of food.
The staff were wonderful and organised a surprise for us as it was our honeymoon. We had prosecco and chocolates in our room.
The rooftop pool was in the shade and very busy with people just going to the rooftop bar - it meant that we did not go up there more than once!
-Friendly front desk staff -design of the hotel -spacious room -comfortable bed
-sound proof between the rooms are not great, very noisy in the morning, I could hear people talking the next door
