Come for great location & value, stay for comfy beds & Sherry Service
Wildly comfy beds Nice and quirky interior design and architecture Sherry service is great touch
Could use an upgraded shower and some breakfast
Great location, friendly staff
The hotel is half a block from Union Square, with lots of food and shopping near by. We were even able to walk to the MOMA and Yerba Buena Gardens. The room was small but had everything we needed. Beds were pretty comfy and everything was clean. Only complaint is that the walls are fairly thin, so you can hear hallway noise pretty clearly.
Hotel lost my reservation, moved me to worse one.
Concierge was nice and gracious, though I got moved to a crummy sister hotel and didn't realize I was accepting this change AT THE FULL PRICE I PAID.
Hotel lost my reservation and my options were cancel and get a refund, but then be forced to book a new stay during a busy weekend in SF, or get moved to a disgusting hovel nearby. When I asked for a discount, the hotel wouldn't relent because I "accepted" the move. The other hotel was disgusting. Kayak was ZERO help. Kayak pushes their hotel search even ahead of their airlines, but when I talked about this issue, I was told to contact the hotel. Thanks.
Hotel staff was extremely helpful and nice and provided excellent service. Centrally located, it was perfect for attending a conference at the Moscone center.
Price is high, but it is centrally located in San Francisco, shower head would not allow adjustment, ceiling fan did not come on
Staff & location were excellent. Nice, older hotel - not crowded, had character. Great value, quiet. Very comfortable beds.
No air conditioning. Asked for a fan to be brought to the room and it was there in seconds.
Really Great Hotel
Travelling as a solo female. Stayed in numerous hotels over the years in San Francisco. But this one is definitely one of my favourites. Ideal location by the stores in Union Square. Friendly Staff. Good sized, Clean Up to date room. Would certainly stay here again and wouldn't hesitate to recommend it to others. Great hotel
Location was great. The staff was welcoming and the furnishings were up to date and very trendy. Reminded me of when I lived in a trendy loft in the city.
The bathroom was oddly configured and there was one elevator which was painfully slow.
Excellent location very close to Union Square, helpful staff and good. clean. functional room. Complimentary tea and sherry late afternoon is a nice touch.
Common areas are looking a little tired, but not too bad.
Little more spacious rooms wouldn't harm anyone
The staff were helpful and courteous. The hotel is very well situated for business in central San Francisco, with good access to transportation. The hotel served my business and tourism needs well.
excellent beds,room very clean,
very classic,little bit old fashion.
We had to wait 90 minutes for the valet to bring our car! Absolutely ridiculous and the staff was unapologetic about the delay. Don't ever stay here.
Friendly staff, nice rooms, very central.
Valet parking is a bit expensive with 35$ per night. But this seems to be the general situation in SF.
Staff were great
Evidently, some of the rooms had not been cleaned by 10 pm - staff tried to take care of everything, but that should not have to happen.
Excellent location, nice interior, very clean, internet in rooms
Free Wifi in rooms; friendly staff; perfect central location - steps from Union Square; LCD tv's in room; good size room
Windows need double-glazing to cut down the considerable street noise - as this hotel is in the centre of town.
Reception staff were very helpful. Good location next to union square.
No air con which could be a problem in summer. In March though it was fine.
