7.1 Good
Pros: Meet the owners and they were nice and informative about the sites to see and best way to get about town. Nice & cozy home atmosphere. Staff was very friendly and accommodating throughout our short stay.
Cons: The haul from the lobby to the room was not exciting (stairs), especially with your luggage, could have been a problem if a member of our trip was disable or elderly. Just good info to know before or at booking.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Very good option to spend a few nights in San Jose. Very close to Escazu with amazing views of the city. Super comfortable and secure complex. Highly reccomended
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Huge open apartment space. Beautiful property. Lots of amenities.
Cons: Walking around the area wasn’t really of interest being a solo female traveller, but the property itself was secure and safe with lots to enjoy. UberEats helped to get food.

Cons: Everything was good
7.1 Good
Pros: LOVED the pool and the view. We spent most of our time outside because it really was so lovely. The beds were decently comfortable, the breakfast was nice. The location was just what we needed, close to plenty of shops and restaurants within a short driving distance. Staff was very, very nice and so helpful. I was very thankful that it was dog friendly.
Cons: Having stayed in the area numerous times, I had high expectations, especially after reading the glowing reviews. I paid $110 for a two double bed room here, which was a lot for what it was, honestly. The room was very dated and it was very bare-bones. The coffee maker in the room was disgustingly dirty, as in still coffee residue in it, looked like it had never once been cleaned, I had to ask for toilet paper, and the bath towels were so paper thin. There was also construction happening during our stay which was noisy and just overall annoying because its a very small place, especially trying to enjoy breakfast with workers walking in and out of the cute dining area. Had I have paid $60ish for the room, I would not be complaining but for $110, there are just too many nicer options in this area.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Alceides, Iván, and Bjorn were so nice and very helpful.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful gardens. Landscaping. View. Breakfast.
Cons: Small plain room. But not bad.

Pros: Amazing place. The staff is very attentive and sweet. Our stay there was wonderful. We will definitely be back.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: The gardens, the view, the fire pit, the donkeys. Ramiro was super helpful.
Cons: The studio room was smaller than it seemed. Indoor stairs were too steep and narrow. Room was a little dusty, specially the window frame near the bed.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: The location was great (if you are by car), it is remoted so it is very quiet. The rooms are spacious, clean and very light (windows everywhere). They have a beautiful garden with some animals. A great terrace with a awesome view. Breakfast is traditional and delicious.
Cons: Nothing.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: I am writing a review for the Superior Double Room although originally i booked the suite. The room was comfortable, big, had everything we needed. It was not a suite as we wanted but a great value for money, and wonderful staff! really the best :-) helped us a lot! Very close to Poas volcano,a must see!
Cons: The suite is literally a spider horror house...Above all it is so dangerous,to have so many spiders in the room everywhere! I really wanted the suite, but the many spiders+moldy smell wasn't for us. It was our luck the hotel wasn't full and they helped us a lot by changing the room, but it would be another story if we had nowhere to go... I hope that they took care of the spider problem and no one will get bitten there.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful hotel with friendly family and pets :) Breakfast was fantastic, perfect view everywhere. Few minutes to Poás Volcano.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We arrived very late becouse of a delayed flight, and the guy waited for us and welcomed us very well! We were starving, after 23 hours of flights, and he got us some pizza and bread sticks to eat in the middle of the night. Cons: We have been 1 night only so there wasnt something we didnt like!

Pros: Quite and clean
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Very clean, modern and comfortable hotel. All the newest facilities and services. Very good breakfast in the on-site restaurant. Spot clean and comfortable rooms.
Cons: More to booking.com than to the hotel. The description of the payment method was confusing. I was told that I will be charged for one of the 2 rooms infront of the stay. Eventually I payed for both rooms on-site. It doesn't bother as itself, but a more accurate payment method will be appreciated.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: I loved the staff here. They were so friendly and welcoming. The grounds were unreal, and the hiking trails are a must! The rooms had a beautiful view as well!
Cons: In the rooms we had a lot of bugs, but other than that they were great. (Mostly rows of ants in the bathroom).
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Enjoyed a brief visit to Xandari. Beautiful views, wonderful comfortable rooms and facilities - we loved the colorful design and the "outdoor" showers in our rooms were awesome. Great food and friendly staff. The hike to waterfalls on the property was really nice too - good exercise, nice scenery.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Friendly people Wonderfull breakfast
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The property, grounds, view, and service were all outstanding. We only stayed one night on the tail end of our trip but I wish we had a few more days there!
Cons: We ate one dinner aside from the complimentary breakfast. The restaurant is expensive and while the food presentation was fun and creative, the quality was just mediocre .
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Amazing 'resort' type setting, very relaxed, pool was great as well as the trail walks to the waterfalls. Good food (a little pricey). The staff could not have been more helpful. It's a little trek from the airport/any amenities but worth it for a final relaxation of a holiday or the first sample of CR. Will
Cons: There is very little outside the hotel doors (without a major walk on a dodgy road or paying for a taxi) so you are restrained to the hotel grounds. Hefty uphill trek to the restaurant!
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Location was unbelievable. 40+ acres of landscaped grounds (including a waterfall), amazing views of the valley, and 3 pools. Their staff is so kind and accommodating and made the meals fun. Breakfast was a great variety and I appreciated the drink on arrival. It's really a beautiful place that feels eco conscious and celebrates the vibrancy of Costa Rican culture and environment. Didn't get to experience the spa, but it looked beautiful and the services offered seemed unique to Costa Rica.
Cons: The dinner prices were pretty steep. The food was delicious generally but my shrimp was a little overcooked and I would have like to see more authentic Costa Rican dishes on the menu. I barely noticed though because the view was so impressive.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Breakfast was basic and healthy, the location was stunning and the grounds and facilities were amazing
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Grounds are gorgeous, staff friendly.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: The rooms and bathrooms were spacious. The staff was welcoming and friendly. The pools and hot springs were well maintained and relaxing.
Cons: The buffet style dinner was over-priced and the food was not that good.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Birds, staff, great rooms
Cons: Food but pricey

Pros: The grounds and location are superb. Paula was warm and weloming and went above and beyond expectations, even helping me finalize exit paperwork for my dog to fly. I can't give a high enough recommendation.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: A very comfortable room and a kind, helpful host that made an early morning taxi reservation for us. Very close to the airport.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: I loved the eco-friendly accommodations, in house transportation guide services, and family-friendly environment. This area is perfect for relaxation, combined with an authentic Costa Rican experience.
Cons: I wasn't a huge fan of the area outside of the compound, but it wasn't a huge negative. It actually added to the experience.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Airport Costa Rica bnb was the perfecr place to finish off our trip to Costa Rica! The room was clean and bright, our last gallo pinto breakfast was delicious, and we loved the quiet neighborhood and front room of our little casita with its huge windows. The staff was very friendly and helpful in helping us get situated and leave for the airport in the morning. I would highly recommend.
7.9 Good
Pros: The gated area is very safe both for staying and for rented car parking. The room was nice and clean. The small garden in front was great and the open air breakfast very pleasant. The basic sweet ingredients and coffee were served complimentary. A very nice surprise for us Italian, who love sweets&coffee in the morning. The host was very friendly and helpful.
Cons: It is a bit hard to find the location. We were supplied of the geolocalisation but it is only possible to find it with internet. It is not available on offline navigation systems.

7.5 Good
Cons: The property is very tucked away and difficult to find ...taxii had a problem getting through the security gate
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Very close to the airport, big apartment, quiet neighborhood
Cons: Shower mat could be cleaner
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful B&B in an equally beautiful gated community. Spotlessly clean and everything seemed brand new. The owner/manager was wonderful--very welcoming and accommodating to our difficult schedule, which involved two very early mornings. I was concerned about needing a taxi at 3:45am on our second morning in order to catch our plane and the owner/manager not only arranged the taxi for us but got up to make sure that there were no problems. The B&B is in a residential community so we didn't have easy access on foot to restaurants but we ate wonderful dinners in the room both nights thanks to Uber Eats which was extremely easy to use and convenient. This is the fourth time we have stayed overnight near SJO and Airport Costa Rica B&B was by far the best airport hotel experience we've had. This will be our go-to spot from now on when we fly in and out of SJO!
Cons: Nothing---everything was wonderful!
6.7 Good
Pros: Nice room. Safe area. No time for breakfast. Owner answered all my questions and let my son borrow a soccer ball to play with on the soccer field across from the room.
Cons: We were there at the time of the town fiestas which meant a lot of loud music from the surrounding area. Not in the owners control but I would have stayed somewhere else had I known.

8.3 Excellent
Pros: We arrived very late at the hotel and only made it to the restaurant at 21:40 which was 20 minutes before the restaurant was due to close. When the staff realised that we had just arrived, having been on the road all day, they allowed use to order a proper dinner and kept the restaurant open for another 30 minutes so that we could finish our meal. The food was excellent, and the staff were lovely.
Cons: We wish we could have stayed there longer.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Initially booked as a hotel close to the airport but this turned into so much more. There is a lot to do in and around the hotel. The design of the hotel is very individual and the coffee is fantastic. Food in the restaurant was good for all meal times and the staff are very friendly and helpful.
Cons: It would be good if the swimming pool could have been heated. It was very cold when we used it.

9.2 Excellent
Pros: Setting, room and grounds were all perfect. We enjoyed eating at the restaurant, and the free coffee and cookies in the afternoon was a nice touch. Very close to the airport (just a £6 Uber). Highly recommended.
Cons: Unfortunately our hot tub didn't work! The coffee tour was very interesting but we felt that for $40 each it could have offered more (e.g more tasting of the coffee itself). Otherwise very pleased.

Cons: Nothing
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Location, views and pool

10.0 Excellent
Pros: An absolut gem in the middle of nature with fantastic views over the city. Full tranquility. Very nice and comfortable rooms. Also the restaurant serves great food and the staff is very friendly. Worth the money if you have one night/day to spend instead of staying in San José city! We also did the coffee tour with Ulises which was great and worth the money too. He knows all about coffee and its much better than Britt or Doka.

Cons: Everything was amazing.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: The breakfast bread was delicious! Jose and Zinnia were kind and helpful...when we found out dinner was not being served, Jose offered to bring roasted chicken to our room...above and beyond...
Cons: The refrigerator could have been turned on prior to arrival ... and the rotting mangoes in the parking could have been pushed aside ...made it a bit difficult to roll bags...

Pros: The hospitality, food, and accommodations are exceptional. My only regret is we couldn't stay longer. The advice we were given was spot on and the dinner was fantastic. We were traveling with a teen and this is our 13th trip to Latin America. The balance between privacy and friendliness provided by the hosts was perfect. This is one of the few places I have ever bothered to leave written comments for, but it is a real gem and I want to spread the word.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Berni, Nhi and their team are fabulous hosts who made us feel very welcome. The orchids and gardens are gorgeous and we especially loved playing ‘ball’ with Bandito and Ziva.

9.6 Excellent
Pros: The rooms are beautiful and confortable with a nice terrace and view. The restaurant good and the service very professional and friendly. The pool is nice with great lounge beds.
Cons: The fitness area equipment could be improved.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: The hotel and the staff were fabulous! Beautiful and spacious room with lovely views and amazing architecture. The staff in the restaurant were professional and lovely.
Cons: The food was dreadful and overpriced. My fish was so over cooked that I couldn’t chew it- it was burned on one side and like rubber. The pumpkin soup had zero flavor despite expecting lemongrass and ginger (for a $12 small bowl of soup) every dish needed salt to bring out even the slightest flavor. The portions were extremely small for the price. For those prices we were expecting an amazing dinner. Further, the menu was meat heavy with very few choices for alternative diets such as gluten free and vegan.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: The breakfast was a full breakfast. Served very hot with coffee and fresh watermelon juice. The views from the dining room are also lovely. The server was so friendly. My room is super clean, peaceful and the balcony has a huge overhang so I can leave the screen doors open even when it's raining.
Cons: The entry drive is a little curvy and hard to navigate if you are driving yourself. Other than that, can't think of a thing. It was wonderful!

Cons: Having to leave
6.7 Good
Pros: The hotel is beautifully placed on the hills of Santa Ana. The restaurant had quite tasty food. The furnishings and interior design of the reception area and the restaurant are quite charming. Said charm was entirely lacking in the hotel rooms however. They were clean - that’s about it. Several of the floor tiles were loose.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Restaurant and bar were fabulous. Staff was very accommodating.
Cons: Beds were hard. A little hard to find.
7.1 Good
Cons: $72 for an imperial beer, Fresca, glass of wine, and chips with guacamole. Wow!

Cons: When arriving at the Poas the building looks a bit sad. Rooms are somewhat old-fashioned.

Pros: The view is amazing! The couple who run it are very attentive and the food was fantastic. We were travelling as a couple and only stayed the one night but would happily have stayed longer.
Cons: Perhaps the bathrooms could use a little spruce up but the couple who run it have only been there for 5 months so I imagine this is on their to do list.

It is a fantastic place to spend your first night in Costa Rica, get your feet wet, and get your bearings. Breakfast was as expected. Coffee was excellent;)
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Great for next day airport transfers
5.0 Okay
Pros: Close to airport

Pros: easy check in and friendly staff. The breakfast is also very good and well prepared. Hats of to the cooking staff.
Cons: nothing
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Good location
Cons: They should stop using plastic plates. Doesn't fit an eco country like Costa Rica
9.2 Excellent
Cons: No Breakfast available for early flight, for Gluten free guests.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We love staying at the Hampton in San Jose. It's real close to the Airport and the service we received is above expectations. They answered all our questions we had . I would recommend this place over and over again. See you again next year.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: A modern facility that is very close to the airport for an early morning departure.
Cons: No lounge
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Excellent location near the airport, very prompt pick-up and only 5 mins from the airport to the hotel. The staff were very friendly and also very helpful with any queries. Good choice of buffet breakfast. We also enjoyed the free coffee and drinks in the reception area.
Cons: The website shows a swimming pool which we were looking to use, but this closed until next year due to building works
9.2 Excellent
Pros: It was close to the airport and the free airport shuttle at all hours of the day and night was extremely convenient. The front desk had complementary bathroom items if needed, which was also helpful.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The position of the hotel is ideal to reach the airport. Staff is very friendly and helped us with an earlier check in and they gave us some tips to visit San José and reach the things that we wanted to see.
Cons: The view of the parking is not ideal, but we didn't ask for any specific needs and we were only staying one night. The choise for breakfast is very generous, although the quality could be improved. The rice of the gallo pinto was overcooked.

Pros: The hotel is only a 5 minute drive to the airport- very close. The breakfast included was very good. The owner is VERY helpful and accommodating. Taxis to and from the airport are paid for.
Cons: The bed wasn’t very comfortable and the bathroom was a little outdated. Only a minor issue considering the price, however.
7.9 Good
Pros: The Room was good and spacious. Friendly and kind staff. Breakfast to go for early departures and shuttle to the airport were great.
Cons: The biggest downside of this Hotel is that there is not a good offer of restaurants/supermarkets very close or at a comfortable walking distance.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: We had a very early departure out of the airport and they made us a bag breakfast. I thought this was a very nice touch!
Cons: There were a few flying ants in the room when we first got into it. I killed them all and it was not a problem anymore. It is C. R. and bugs are all over the place. Hence not a big deal.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The hotel was a perfect location for a quick stay while coming or going from Costa Rica. The staff and Yolanda were very helpful picking me up from the airport at night and when I had to catch a plane in the morning. Yolanda even arranged a to-do breakfast! I highly recommend this place!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Super nice staff, delicious Gallo Pinto for breakfast. Clean and comfortable.
Cons: Some noise from the flights landing and taking off
8.3 Excellent
Pros: The rooms were well-appointed. It is close to airport so planes overhead were loud but we liked the sounds of the planes. We were able to rent a vehicle there.
Cons: There were not many services within walking distances. There was no hot water for showering as was also the case in other places we stayed.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We had an amazing sleep before departure! Lady at reception is very nice and you can choose any time to get your breakfast bag - 5 am for us. Thank you!

Pros: Nice owner. Very convenient to rental car return. Price includes ride to airport and breakfast.
Cons: The traffic around the airport is extremely heavy and difficult if you dont know how the lanes change.
7.1 Good
Pros: Just a simple but good place to stay for a night. Staff is friendly and breakfast was good maybe even very good for Costa Rican standards.
Cons: Nothing really
8.8 Excellent

A roundtrip airport shuttle is provided for a surcharge (available 24 hours), and free self parking is available onsite.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: The space is charming
Cons: I didn’t have hot water. I feel very confident that the staff would have responded appropriately had I addressed it, but had to catch a flight and opted for a cold shower.
7.5 Good
Pros: Good food and drink. It is also a more interesting place to stay than the standard hotel chains near the airport.
Cons: You will definitely need a car to get here.
7.9 Good
Pros: A lovely garden and good restaurant. We always receive breakfast directly in the room.
Cons: We have been informed only a couple of days before arriving that the pool was being renovated and will be open again in 2020. There was no shampoo available.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Rooms very spacious and clean. The grouds, reception, restaurant and pool area have a very nice atmosphere. Staff was very friendly. There is a pool table (free of charge) and board games. The hotel is close to the airport
Cons: Alajuela is not a very nice city (not much to see, chaotic, less appealing compared to other parts of Costa Rica) . We ate 2 nights in the hotel as we could not find a nice restaurant closeby.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Great room and comfy bed. Pool was great as was the restaurant. the staff made this place - they were very helpful and seemed to enjoy helping in anyway they could.
Cons: Perhaps bigger towels as they were quite small (in bathroom) and tea/coffee facilities in room
9.2 Excellent
Pros: It is a nice place - with a lot of potential to be a great boutique hotel - the staff, especially the our waitress at dinner, is really nice and helpful. The pool area, the restaurant and the gardens (incl. the “trails” or so to say walkways ) are really nice, but there is room left to improve. We stayed here two nights - on the full day we did the Poas Vulcan - which is really close and easy to reach (by car) . We were able to stay longer, after the check -out in the “public-area” what was really nice and convenient as our flight was in the evening. The rooms are spacious, with a fridge and A/C etc.
Cons: It’s nothing big to improve - just cleaning the pool some more often (just falling leafs but nevertheless), the fruits on the walkways which are rotting time by time, the walkways which are partly blocked partly palms or Bambus. The rooms are nicely made but there is also the last bit of “heart” missing ... - and the “patio/veranda” on the same side as the outside of the A/C is located is just very inconvenient due to the noise and warm air ...
9.6 Excellent
Pros: We stayed for 3 nights before going on a tour & so glad we did ! Beautiful grounds and pool with friendly staff who helped with organising taxis & transfers. Breakfast was fine and the beds comfortable. Highly recommended .
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We loved the location of the property. Everything was super clean, and the staff was amazing and very friendly. The beds are very comfortable. We had an early morning flight and they were able to have breakfast ready for us. This place was amazing and would definitely go back. Totally recommend the stay here.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: The restaurant
Cons: The location
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Lovely staff; understanding of a late arrival after delayed BA . And 645am arrival for breakfast ! Great pool, wildlife and birds all around. Little oasis just up from the hustle and airport traffic. Recommend.
Cons: Little tricky to find in the dark, but no big issue. Waze and Google has the answer.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Staff was welcoming and helpful. Hotel grounds include an adjacent nature trail where we had a very pleasant evening walk. Restaurant food was surprisingly good. Overall a great stay!
Cons: Only surprise was lack of air conditioning, but that was really no problem at all since the temperature dipped into the 60’s at night.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: location to San Jose was great, but you definitely need a car to get around to the different activities. Very easy to find with a car. Close to DOKA, which is a must!
Cons: The room was close to the restaurant and the pool, so very noisy at night and in the morning. I would ask for a room away from the pool.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The whole staff was so friendly and Luis, our waiter was hilarious. Great breakfast, great view and very clean.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The name says it all...there are great views from this sweet hotel. The grounds are beautiful and offer a lush walk along the Coffee Trail. Rooms are comfortable and the staff is friendly and helpful. Not a bad drive from the airport and the free shuttle is a nice option.
Cons: Wish we would have stayed an extra day.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Fantastic staff who went above and beyond. Beautiful location close enough to the airport and city but far enough away to enjoy the surrounding mountains
8.3 Excellent
Pros: The staff are all very friendly and helpful.
Cons: The hotel is not in a good neighborhood. You can't walk anywhere.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Clean, comfortable, friendly staff
Cons: Limited activity options
7.9 Good
Pros: Hotel Buena Vista is a nice place to stay for airport arrivals/departures. The hotel is clean, comfortable and the staff are incredibly friendly. The location is remote and there is no where to walk around nor any shops nearby so you are slightly forced to remain on the hotel premises but they have a bar, restaurant and pool with sun loungers so that's no hardship. If you have a car, you can easily get around and visit more places.
Cons: The location is a little remote with nothing within walking distance. Whilst the hotel was lovely, I feel it was slightly overpriced and catered for the richer American tourist. As a result you can find better value places but for ease and comfort I cannot fault the place.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Hotel Buena Vista is hidden gem tucked up in the hills of Alajuela. It is only 20 minutes from the airport and the staff is extremely friendly and helpful. They provide a free airport shuttle and even picked us up from the airport after returning via bus from the beach. The property if beautiful and offers a great view of the city. Definitely recommend for a comfortable, quiet stay on either end of a Costa Rica adventure.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Nice room
Cons: Overlooked pool which opened at 7 am!!!!! Kids swimming and chattering tooo early

Of course had to let my boyfriend back in after he dropped me off. That was very nice of him to check on us so I didn't miss my flight it was a shorty
Cons: All was fine. It was a short stay for me

7.1 Good
Pros: The staff were very kind and welcoming, always willing to help the guest .
Cons: I had to pay during the night of my stay because I had to leave the place very early in the morning, and they did not have a credit card terminal available, which was a problem due the high cost per room, and I had to give all my cash. The WiFi did not work on the room, only in the common areas.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: The accommodation is located in a beautiful garden in a very quiet area of Ciudad Colon (located about 20 km to San Jose or airport). There is a fantastic view to the mountains nearby with is a trail that actually starts in the garden. The house/accommodation is very clean and the staff extremely friendly.
Cons: It would have been nice if the total of the room would include the breakfast. It is very German :) that there is a price list in the room in case you might damage something.

7.5 Good
Pros: The location is great for the use of public transportation, supermarkets and restaurants are at a walking distant. Staff is very helpfull and friendly.

The breakfast was delicious and we could easily walk into town. Sarah was absolutely amazing! Cons: Not a complaint in the world!

8.8 Excellent
Pros: I liked the location, free airport shuttle. Warm welcome at check in. Comfortable room.
Cons: Check out was exactly the opposite of the check in welcoming feeling. Woman handed me the receipt, said nothing, and I left. Not a word like Thanks or bye. Just unusually cold especially since it was the exact opposite of nice woman at check in..
8.3 Excellent
Pros: All the staff were very friendly and helpful
Cons: If they had a mirror /full size mirror in the room, not just the bathroom

Pros: Only stayed one night and did not use any facilities in the hotel.
Cons: Difficult to find.

Pros: Perfect place to stay for early morning or late arriving flights. Just moments from the airport.
6.0 Good
Pros: near airport, airport shuttle schedule
Cons: The neighborhood was not too inviting. I thought breakfast was complimentary. Staff told me that our rate didn't qualify for complimentary breakfast. Continental was $12 and regular breakfast was $15 or $17. Obviously didn't eat there.

Pros: Nadine the owner was exceptionally helpful with advice on things to do and helping to set them up for us. The breakfast was excellent . Pros: Many thanks for the warm welcome, :)
7.1 Good
Pros: It was beautifully quiet and a good place to recover after a long flight. The garden is a delight
Cons: You really need a car. However the access to the lodge is very awkward and steep. The only other hotel within walking distance was very unwelcoming to us and kept us standing in the heat outside the security gate! So our only option for dinner was a taxi ride away.
7.5 Good
Pros: The grounds were beautiful and the room was lovely. Our host was excellent too, such a gorgeous place to stay on our first night.
Cons: The breakfast wasn't great, but it was just enough to start the day.

Pros: The service was impeccable. Dinner at the restaurant was one of the best we had on our trip. Breakfast was also very good. They made arrangements for us to shuttle to the airport, making that very easy for us.
Cons: One of the rooms had a leaky faucet.

Pros: We only stayed one night for a post-flight rest so the airport shuttle was particularly useful as was the location. Really helpful staff & good facilities - food was nice. The pool area is lovely.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Great breakfast, the staff makes you feel like they are family. Staff is professional and friendly.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: The staff were beyond excellent!
Cons: The noise of the airport of jets flying over.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: There's a restaurant that has the feel of a soda on site. Rooms are comfy and staff is very attentive. Perfect spot if you need a place near airport but don't want to stay in an American chain hotel that lacks character.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Convenient complimentary pick up from the airport - hopped on the shuttle and it was very easy. Grounds are really well maintained and fun to explore. Nice outdoor seating and great breakfast. Staff was friendly and helpful. Hotel was comfortable and easy to access from the airport and or day trips around san jose.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: We got to this place very late (around 12:30 am) on our first night in Costa Rica. It seemed to be a risky neigborhood, but when we got there, it was beautiful with a great parking area. There was someone there to greet us even though it was very late and made sure we were comfortable. The next morning (our first day in Costa Rica), we got up early and walked around the pool and the yard. We were in the pool before 7 am and the kids had a wonderful time (we did too). The breakfast was excellent (something for everyone) and we would have stayed longer!
Cons: By the beautiful swimming pool, there was a hottub, but no hot water in it! I just found this a little bizarre. There seems to be little else available around the hotel, in the neigborhood, but this might also be from a lack of time on our part to explore.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Nice small hotel with very nice, clean, comfortable rooms surrounded by dense landscaping that makes you feel like you're in the forest rather than in a residential neighborhood next to the airport. We took advantage of the pool and enjoyed that. Restaurant was nothing particularly special but had a good selection of well-presented, tasty food. Staff were very helpful. Since we had an early flight we couldn't take advantage of their breakfast, so they arranged for a bagged breakfast to go that we picked up before leaving. They also arranged for a taxi driver who arrived promptly at 4:30 am as requested.
Cons: No complaints - nice place for an overnight before a flight.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: All interactions with staff were extremely pleasant. The location is close to the airport and the property is secluded, quiet and actually very beautiful. The food at the restaurant was also very good.
Cons: none
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Such good food. Very accommodating and friendly staff. We felt so at home here. Perfect stop off before or after exploring Costa Rica.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Very secure location. Alajuela and San Jose are a bit crowded and sketchy. This is is a suburb of Alajuela. We state there the night before we returned to the United States. It's close to the airport and downtown but in a safe and quiet spot that is not too remote. The staff is really warm and helpful. Great experience. Free airport shuttle as well.
Cons: no complaints
