Cons: Nothing!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Situated 4.5kms along a single track road in 14.000m2 woodland above a fishing river, this place is like a small Parador, only far more personal. It is in an XVIII farmhouse and outbuildings restored to the highest standard. It is managed by the owners and activities such as white water rafting, cycling, guided walks are available. 11kms from Santiago de Compostella heaving with hikers, it is an oasis of peace and tranquility. About 30kms from the beautiful Galician coast.
Cons: Evening meal at 9pm. Too late for oldies! Breakfast at 9am, too late for a prompt start.
7.9 Good
Pros: Incredible and unique location and property. Friendly helpful employees. Good value meals.
Cons: I would not recommend bringing your dog as we did. The hotels dogs run around loose which would be fine if it weren't including a heavy unspayed female who refused to leave our dog alone the entire time. We could not even let him out for a pee without being jumped on. We had politely informed the owners several times but they seemed very flippant about it and did nothing. Dogs mating is a very serious thing that needs to be carried out under supervision. Its a shame to say we spent most of our holiday unable to relax and enjoy the gardens and surrounding areas, having to constantly watch the dogs and try to keep them separate as the owners did not care. Sadly this resulted in an expensive trip to the vets for our dog on our last day due to issues the night before and all our plans for the final day out the window. The owners were fully aware but not so much as an apology or even an enquiry as to whether our dog was ok. A real shame to have had our stay ruined by something that could have been so easily avoided with a little more responsibility and care.

Pros: The staff here went above and beyond when my luggage was accidentally delivered to the wrong address. I was walking the Camino and using a luggage transfer company, my luggage was delivered to a cafe which was locked up by the time we realised what had happened. The hotel staff rang around to find the cafe owner and get my luggage for me! Everything about the hotel was prefect.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: The staff was very nice and friendly. Great location.
Cons: It was very loud outside, as the hotel is in the city center, so we couldn't sleep well at night. The bathroom's door is transparent (see through), so not ideal in my opinion. To access the spa we were told we had to pay an extra 55€, which I personally found expensive as we paid 108 in total per night...
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Gorgeous room: big, warm, well decorated, super duper comfortable mattress. The bathroom is modern and clean. The hotel is very close to the cathedral, in the very center of Santiago. Breakfast is also good. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The hotel offers also wellness area, massages which I'm sure they have as good quality as the rest of you can afford it.
Cons: The breakfast area is very small and not enough if many guests take breakfast at the same time. We didn't use the wellness area because we considered it expensive (55eur 1 hour for 2 people), but it looked very nice and clean.

Pros: Location. Updated rooms.
Cons: 1. Bedbugs. 2. 1st floor rooms can hear all the reception’s conversations and breakfast activity 3. Late at night I needed to change the room because of the bedbugs, but communication was only in Spanish, we could not understand each other with the reception, had to use google translate.

Pros: Location excellent; near lots of good cafes and restaurants in the old town and convenient to the park and the cathedral quarter. The lady at the check in staff very pleasant and helpful.
Cons: Noise form other guests. Very surly gentleman at check out... seemed affronted by the fact I don't speak Spanish, and still insisted on firing machine gun Spanish at me even after I explained I did not understand. Did not provide a receipt for my cash payment. It also would be worth mentioning that this is at the top floor of a residential block, so can be confusing to find

8.3 Excellent
Pros: The staff were friendly and helpful, making me feel like no question was too much of an ask. The location was handy, close to resturants, bars and the supermarket. Air-con worked well and the room had a fridge
Cons: The bed was too short! I am only 6'1 but my feet dangled over the end of the bed. Also, a minor detail but there were no hooks anywhere in the bathroom to hang clothes or a towel.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: This was a fantastic stay in Santiago de Compostela for my husband & I at the completion of our 14-day Camino! The hotel is conveniently located in the historical downtown area (near the edge where the business/downtown area begins, but still within the historical streets & a few minutes' walk to the Cathedral & shops/restaurants/museums. It is also conveniently located about 10 min. easy walk to the train station, which we had to take back to Madrid. Located on the 3rd level of the building, there is elevator or stair access from a nice quiet lobby (the rest of the building seemed to be residential apartments?). The reception area of Mapoula is very nicely decorated with warm but modern décor, with a seating area around the reception desk, & then a dining area & kitchen/breakfast buffet area around the corner. Everything was very clean. Included in our stay was the continental breakfast buffet (it would have been well worth the 4€ I think it was listed separately for anyway): there is a selection of pastries & cakes (apple, Santiago/almond?, meats & cheeses, soft boiled eggs, yogurts, cereals, fresh fruit, etc. available at the buffet. They bring you fresh squeezed orange juice & a basket of freshly toasted breads & croissants to your table. The mugs for hot tea & coffee are in a heated carousel. Everything was immaculately clean & service was great. The only very slight negative here was they only put a small amount of fresh fruit out. My husband wanted a banana but the second day noticed someone had taken the last (only?) one (& actually ended up not finishing it!)...to their credit we didn't ask them for more, & perhaps they would have brought more out if we did. Our room was just off the reception area, through an extra door/small entry area, along with another room. The lighting was automatic & bright, which I love (some hotels are so dark & dim). In the room, everything was very modern, yet cozy (love the one stone accent wall). There was air conditioning & recessed ceiling/behind the bed lighting. The bathroom was larger than most we had stayed at throughout our Camino (we stayed in hostals & pensions, not albergues!) & everything was immaculate, comfortably decorated, great water pressure/heat in the shower, lighting overhead as well as the vanity area, etc. (Here the one small negative was their towels, white medium/large bath towels with Mapoula stiched/printed across the bottom in red letters, were a little old. You could see the fraying begin around the edges of the ones we had day 1 & 3 of our stay. Day 2 the towels they gave us were a little newer. Everything was very clean, though.) Our room window had 2 layers of shutters, inside sheer curtains & outside automatic shutters (as are customary in Spain). There were no views since we were close to other buildings, but being on the 3rd level, we could see across the small pedestrian alley to a rooftop & no windows directly across. Also, laundry service was a plus!

Pros: Great location in the old part of the city! Staff very helpful.
4.6 Okay
Pros: at the first contqct the reception was in a hurry given us loosy directions for keys qnd pqrking : it was raining very badly and W e ended up parking in a wrong parking lot because of lack of directions ::::::: HURRY HURRY HURRY Got a ticket --- 60 euros worth there was no access to fresh air no customer service to make customer welcome
Cons: I would not recommend this hotel to my friends
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We loved everything! We were skeptical that it's called a hostal; but, it really was a hotel. Very cute room with great shower. The breakfast was fine with great coffee. The staff was wonderful. The day we left we went very early. They offered to bring us up a breakfast tray the night before...the thermos of coffee stayed hot. The location was excellent in the old city. Thanks to everyone!
Cons: No complaints.

Pros: Central, easy to find, well-run and efficient. The room was'interior' so no view at all but extremely quiet.
Cons: Room was basic, though fair for this type of hostal. The single room was overpriced, for the quality of the room, but this is always the case when compared to doubles or twins.

9.2 Excellent
Pros: Loved this hotel. Location is not the best as it's located outside the centre of Santiago de Compostela, but that's not a problem as the hotel has a free bus service every hour until 10 pm, which takes you to and back from the centre. We stayed at a villa in front to the main building which was amazing. It's got its own car space, living room at the bottom, and a really great bedroom upstairs. Haven't tried the breakfast but the room service food was delicious and for normal prices, so I guess breakfast must be good too. The pool is not the biggest I've ever seen but nice and clean, and with a bar next to it. Would definitely repeat.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Staff were lovely and the room was amazing.
Cons: Pool sun loungers were dated and uncomfortable.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Excellent staff, lovely grounds and rooms and lovely breakfast.
Cons: Nothing.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: We were delighted to be given an apartment, with bedroom and lounge, for our two-night stay. This was much more luxurious than we expected. Together with the hotel's public rooms and facilities such as an excellent pool, this made for a great stay. The hotel lies a good distance from the city centre - too far for most to walk - but there's a great shuttle service which takes you to the Plaza de Galicia (from which you can take the airport bus, should you wish). We also enjoyed a great meal in the hotel restaurant. A very positive experience all in all.
Cons: N/A

10.0 Excellent
Pros: This hotel is a lot more spacious and modern than most hotels in Santiago. If you don’t mind the 10 minute walk into town it’s perfect. The pool and sauna facilities were nicely kept and the staff were friendly.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Very nice way to end our Camiño
Cons: Our scenic view room was a view of nothing!
8.8 Excellent
Pros: The rooms are beautiful and clean. Staff are lovely. We love the place and coming back in a couple of days after going to Muxia.
Cons: It’s location is a bit of a walk from the cathedral.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: This place was airy and clean. Beds very comfy. Food excellent. Staff very nice and helpful.
Cons: There was some green along the far edge of the pool which put me off even though I knew it was clean. No other fault that I saw.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The breakfast selection was superb. The only problem we experienced was the eggs we ordered - mine was cold and my sister never received hers. Better thus to only eat from the buffet.
Cons: More staff in the dining room.
5.8 Okay
Pros: Comfortable bed and nice bathroom Great breakfast
Cons: Not enough staff Pool surrounded by discarded towels and no one to clear up No spa - I had a massage and it was done in a hair salon with all the furniture pushed back- really not relaxing environment- also would be good to be told that the masseur was male
7.1 Good
Pros: Friendliness of staff, Open and airy lobby.
Cons: Room smelled of smoke Could hear noises from room above Room service food was tasty but cold Pool facilities were dated and no attendant
9.6 Excellent
Pros: The hotel is modern, comfortable, and well equipped. The room was very clean and neatly laid out, with a large TV, espresso capsule coffee maker, shower, and a desk. The hotel has a gym (24 hours), and a swimming pool with a spa and steam room, opening hours 0700-2200). The hotel let me check in early and the sauna was empty both times I used it (1400 and 2100). Between the comfort of the room and the sauna, this hotel was a treat after completing the Camino.
Cons: The hotel is a modern and fully equipped, the only downside is that it is a fifteen minute walk outside the old centre. Additionally, breakfast wasn't included in the room rate which wasn't clear from the hotel and room profile. Breakfast would have been ~€14 if I had booked it at the hotel. The internet connection was slow. The sauna doesn't have water for housing the coals and has a mechanism for setting the heat that requires some experimentation (setting the heat to maximum, as I imagine most people do leads to the sauna getting intolerably hot).
9.2 Excellent
Pros: The room was very comfortable and the included breakfast was amazing.
Cons: The shower area had some areas of mold that needed to be scrubbed out of the tile grout. I just wouldn’t expect that from a 5 star hotel. Easy fix on their part!
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Lighting in room was ok
Cons: Door lock was not working ok.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: We arrived late on a hot evening and were greeted well. The actual room was perfect... cool and with a terrace. The bed was beautifully comfortable and breakfast was excellent... this is a gem of a hotel in a good location between the railway station, the old town and cathedral.
Cons: A minor criticism... no tea and coffee making in the room, however, we were given a kettle which helped.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: clean, modern, big room and bathroom, quiet
8.8 Excellent
Pros: My husband was sick and they tried to get us in before check in. They gave us an upgraded room with no extra cost.
Cons: No complaints.

Pros: Clean. Great breakfast
7.1 Good
Pros: Good location, just a few blocks from city center, has a grocery store tight next door, clean rooms, roomy and comfortable, staff really helpful.
Cons: Not enough toiletries ( just shampoo, shower gel and soaps), average breakfast.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Good location giving easy access to the old centre and to the train station. Reception staff were friendly and helpful. Good choice for breakfast and it was well-stocked.
Cons: Brusque (almost rude) staff at breakfast. They could do with some training from the reception staff! Room walls are quite thin so we could hear next-door's TV.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Room was spacious and very nice bathroom. We had windows that opened to an enclosed atrium which was nice to be able to open the windows and not have bugs. Sheets were delightful and very clean. It is about a 10 minute walk from the cathedral, so out of the bustle but still very close. Many nice coffee/bars/supermarkets a minute away. Train station is an easy 5 minute walk.
Cons: Like many hotels in Spain, the walls are paper thin. The phone would ring one or even 2 rooms away and it was like it was ringing in our room. The windows tend to be new, tight and quiet but walls are a different story. Unless you want your neighbor or two’s wake up call, embrace the white noise or ear plugs in this hotel. Otherwise, it was a wonderful stay.

7.9 Good
Pros: Good value for money, and clean. Walking distance to old town.
7.5 Good
Pros: Room and bathroom are good size and very clean. The beds are really comfortable.
Cons: We wasted time doing the check-in because we got assigned a room that was already occupied by another guest. Have to say that the staff at the reception was kind and solved the situation promptly. At the end, we got assigned a room with two single beds instead of the double bedroom we requested originally.
6.7 Good
Cons: French and German tv channels only, and Spanish of course. Thought we Brits were major league visitors to Spain but we never get English language channels (Bloomberg, CNN and CNBC don't count!)--why is that?
