7.5 Good
Pros: The location is great and the staff was very friendly. Very good breakfast and dinner.
Cons: The wine and drinks in the bar are a bit overpriced. € 45 for dinner is too expensive, but the food is good.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Location and good staff
5.8 Okay
Pros: Excelente breakfast, very nice bar for drinks in the evening.
Cons: The beds and pillows are absolutely horrible! It’s time for the hotel to update beds as they are really bad, specially for a hotel that charges a lot of money for the room. Dinner prices are ridiculous expensive for the city.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Service, staff and location. All first class. Super friendly and helpful, family orientated. Good food, breakfast and dinners well cooked and fresh. Great wines as well. Spacious family rooms.
Cons: Rooms were a bit too warm. WiFi was patchy in the rooms.

8.3 Excellent
Pros: The hotel has a unique layout. The staff were awesome, little confused on bus pickup locations, but otherwise great. The view outside the windows during breakfast with the frosty windows over looking the mountains and sunrise! The hot room downstairs for your frozen snowboard gear.
Cons: Well first off, the fact that there was minimal snow in Sestriere all weekend, but back to the hotel. The "extra" firm bed was not great. The towel warmers didn't seem to get very warm to dry my snowboard apparel besides having them hang and air dry all night.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Great, stylish little hotel with very friendly staff and a short stroll from the town centre and ski slopes, plus a pool/sauna just out of the back door!
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Frederica at the reception was particularly welcoming, helpful and nothing was too much trouble including making my daughters 7th birthday a little bit special. She is a wonderful asset to the hotel.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: The inclusive breakfast food was great with an option to buy additional items off the menu. The staff all spoke English and were very friendly and helpful.
Cons: We had to wait a long time most days for drinks (coffee/tea) and they often ran out of cutlery and dishes/plates on the breakfast service. It was very noisy outside our room with a fire door slamming all the time which people used to get outside. None of the floors are carpeted which made if very noisy. Lots of children running about the corridors unsupervised in the evening.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Great staff
Cons: Swimmingpool/breakfast
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Very Welcoming staff
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Very nice hotel with very attentive staff.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The staff are exceptional, very attentive and extremely helpful and knowledgeable. The food in the restaurant is of a very high quality. Loved it.
Cons: I cannot really way that was anything that I didn’t like.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The staff are wonderful at Shackleton. It’s great to visit an independent hotel that has all the qualities of global chain balanced with a family run business.
Cons: Beds are super comfy. Breakfast and restaurant food are superb coupled with a panoramic setting and fantastic service. The restaurant is one of the best in Sestriere. The added bonus of a pool and sauna on your door step after a short walk from the slopes. The hotel has a ski hire and locker 5m from the chair lift. I would highly recommend using this competitive ski hire outlet. Great location with parking. We will definitely return to this hotel.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: The atmosphere that you can feel in this hotel is special. Every single room is different from the others, perfectly designed and very well kept... All is like you would like to be! But the most important and impressive think is the kindness of the young stuff and of the young and active owner family! Very suggested
6.8 Good
Pros: the atmosphere
Cons: no light in the closet

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Excellent no frills ski hotel, fully delivering on its promise. Comfortable and located about 700-800m from the ski slopes, in a very quiet area, it was exactly what we were looking for. The staff (up to and including the director) are wonderful, doing all in their power to make your stay as nice as possible. On a scale of 1 to 10 (10 being the best), they get an 11 from us :). Dinner is also very good.
Cons: Minor aspect on a ski vacation, but the wi-fi (only available in public areas, as advertised) is very slow. Still, no points lost by the hotel in our books due to this reason :)
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Very welcoming and friendly family run hotel; staying here really added to our Italian skiing holiday. Excellent breakfast and very good dinner. The bar area was a good place to relax either for an aperitivo or after dinner. Nice mix of Italian families and non-Italian visitors.
Cons: Room was a bit cold on the first evening but we did arrive very late. No problems after that.
7.1 Good
Pros: Good breakfast, near ski lifts. Nice bar and lovely sauna area. Helpful staff.
Cons: Breakfast started at 8am that was a bit late for our taste. Could have started hour earlier. Room was small but we managed.

Cons: All was good
7.5 Good
Pros: The owner "Renzo" was a really nice person. He helped us a lot to get to know the city and everyone knew him in the town. If you tell the restaurants in vicinity that you are a guest at this hotel, you will receive 10 percent discount on the meal. If you want to know something I suggest you to just ask Renzo, he will help you as much as he can.
Cons: - The hotel doesn't have any bidet, it was my first time in Italy I couldn't find a bidet in a hotel - The room didn't have any fridge, it's not a big problem while Renzo can keep everything for you, but I like to have my own fridge at the room
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Host is absolutely a great person! He's very helpful and kind. Breakfast was good. Bike spent night in carage. I can only recommend this hotel.
6.3 Good
Pros: Location
Cons: Hotel facilities was quite old style
7.5 Good
Pros: The staff could not have been more helpful or friendly. The quality of the food at dinner was good the pasta dishes were very good.
Cons: The sound proofing between the rooms was nonexistent. The bed was uncomfortable. The distance from the pistes was to far a ten minute walk however lockers were available near the piste to store ski equipment. Thee were no on site spa facilities.

Pros: All really good especially the breakfast!

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Location, view, dinner... For skiers the place is incredible. Massimo the owner was very kind.
Cons: Nothing
7.9 Good
Pros: You use this hotel for thrills not frills. You go for the location. The dining room is fabulous, the food is wholesome and plentiful. Rooms are comfortable if a little warm. The location and access to the hill for that first run in the morning are what makes it.
Cons: The hotel is isolated. The hotel could make more of that with greater effort to help the guests connect with each other in their mountain top retreat. A more social dinner organisation, perhaps with a big table dinner once or twice in a week, when the skidoo guests are not there, would be one way to achieve this.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Absolutely wonderful experience! This hotel is amazing for any ski lovers! Incredible location. Peaceful. Great view. Great service. The ride in snowmobile is also a great bonus.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Excellent Position. Massimo was a great Host, Food Good with comfortable accomodation. Fantastic Position at the top of a four Man Chairlift.
Cons: Could of been Busier at Night Mostly appealed to non British while we were There.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Location is like a fairytale. You have to realize that once you ski down the only way to come back is by skilift or snowscooter. Massimo and his staff are very friendly .
Cons: Nothing

Pros: Location was a little up hill but pretty central. Staff don't all speak English but one or two were especially helpful and friendly.

Cons: Uncomfortable bed. Slow internet.

Pros: Staff were v good, ski bus excellent, just call when you want picked up Spacious room, great view
Cons: Room finishing was a bit shabby in places, needed some painting and holes around pipes Breakfast a bit haphazard at times

7.1 Good
Cons: A bar tender that did not smile or was pleasant !
8.3 Excellent
Pros: location, atmosphere, food
Cons: spa was not for kids
7.1 Good
Pros: Bar and common areas large and accommodating. Our request for rooms near each other was noted, very grateful. Very easy walking to slopes, restaurants and shops near by. Highly recommend renting lockers by the slope for ski equipment (we did not use the complementary shuttle to the slopes).
Cons: No power shower and took a long time to fill the bathtub. One very grumpy & unfriendly bartender in the hotel bar. Main breakfast and buffet restaurant not very charming, but functional.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The room was very nice and the service was great - everyone tried to help even without being asked, the breakfast was great. A pianist, a singer and a snooker table made really great atmosphere in the lobby. The shuttle driver was very helpful and nice. He really cared to ease our way back to the hotel and reacted very quickly. Great hotel!
9.2 Excellent
Pros: The hotel has real character, as well as the room we stayed in. The wine selection in the Winery is something I have never experienced before anywhere in the world, and the advice to select one of the 2000+ different wines made the experience unforgettable. Transport to the slopes with hotel bus was very fast and efficient, only taking a few mins each time.

Cons: No elevator up the stairs. Restaurant closes early. Hard to find at night, poorly lit. Rooms are very cramped. The outlets are not really compatible with even European standards.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: This hotel is a little gem and the family who run it are friendly and spend time with their guests... there's a sociable bar and I only wish I had made the time to try the lunch when I'd skiied past as they are so close to the bottom lift in Borgata
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Nice, warm room, Very good buffet breakfast giving you energy for snowboarding/skiing. Owners were nice, friendly and helpful.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: It is a budget hotel so not much to expect. Location great, staff wonderful, cleanness as well. We had a great time.
Cons: Breakfast maybe was on a weaker side.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: The staff was very friendly and helpful, they speak English and gave us a lot of useful info on how to go out and about. Ski passes available for purchase from the hotel. Hotel is located within a 2-minute walk from the lifts to the mountains. Nice and cosy bar/lounge area in the hotel.
Cons: Too few restaurants nearby to go out. Hotel is located on the main street, so it was loud at night when people were passing by and in the morning when the snow was being cleared. No hot food served for breakfast. We requested a queen doubled bed, but were put in a room with two adjacent single beds.

7.9 Good
Pros: Apparantly water and house wine were included in the half board price Snacks were provided for free with drinks in the bar
Cons: Very thin walls Very noisy evening entertainment. You couldn’t stay in the bar due to the volume of the entertainment. It was even possible to here everything in our room on the 4th floor Hotel absolutely not recommended in high season
7.9 Good
Pros: Staff very friendly, very professional. Breakfast and dinner very copious and good quality. Rooms cleaned daily , impeccable. Very quick at responding to your queries.
Cons: Kitchenette is good but there were no pans, only glasses, cups and small plates- so bring your own to cook or boil water coffee! On 1st floor - until approx 22h, you are likely to hear music and noise from evening entertainment. The hotel is 20 min walk from centre but bus available every 30-45 min
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Very clean room. All staff and especially the restaurant manageress were extremely friendly and helpful. Food very good and excellent choice. Enthusiastic entertainment team. Very reasonable prices at the bar.
Cons: Decor a little dated
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The location and staff were great the little shop in the hotel was very reasonable priced which was great for kids to treats. The landry room was very good. The entertainment for kids was very good especially Sarah.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Restaurant food, service (including catering for my daughter’s gluten free diet - the hotel having e mailed in advance asking for any dietry requirements) far exceeded what I was expecting (or have experienced elsewhere) for half board skiing hotel. Staff friendly & excellent. Bar man brilliant - the passion he put into making even just a gin & tonic amazing (& prices reasonable). Rooms a bit dated - but huge with good mountain view.
Cons: The description of its proximity to slope/ on Booking.com site not that accurate - it’s a 5 to 10 minute ski bus ride. BUT the bus stop is right outside hotel. Also no ski storage at hotel - BUT hotel gives a card which gets yiu free storage at plac just off the slopes. Not a fan of the hotel entertainment but easy enough to avoid.
6.7 Good
Pros: dinners were perfect
Cons: sauna is just travesty. If someone is joging on the running track bihind the wall, the said wall is trembling as well as the benches in the sauna. Rooms are not well sound-proofed.
