10.0 Excellent
Pros: The room was very clean and spacious. We got a room with a private onsen which made the room that much better. The kaiseki dinners were delicious and visually stunning, just come with an appetite since it's alot of food. They probably don't get a ton of English speaking guests since there was only a couple of people on staff with serviceable English skills, definitely better than our Japanese, but you shouldn't be going to a different country to a somewhat out of the way place and expect there to be expert English speakers. It was more than made for with the staff professionalism and kindness.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: The food, the service, the location. Everything was amazing! Very traditional style Ryokan with very nice onsen baths.
Cons: No real complaints! However, it would be a difficult place if you didn't speak Japanese.

Pros: 3 separate private baths that can be used until late evening
Cons: Nothing
6.7 Good
Pros: View from room. Quiet and nice location. Open air onsen. Staff services. Ample car parking spaces.
Cons: No free wifi in the room. Onsen water temp was not hot enough. No wash basin in the toilet.
7.9 Good
Pros: Private bath
Cons: Yukata was not clean
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Very good dinner and breakfast, great panoramic view over green hills from room, nice private and shared onsens
7.1 Good
Pros: View from room is very good.
Cons: No dinner service if you haven’t ordered in package.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Situated in a beautiful spot with a lovely room. I’m the ‘public/shared’ onsen was good, but I particularly liked the private onsen as the bath itself was located outdoors. Staff were amazing as they really try their best to communicate with you and make your stay the best experience as possible. Chose to have dinner and breakfast included with our booking. It is always a good experience to have a traditional formal meal. While the dinner was good, it didn’t wow me as much as some other experiences I have had elsewhere. Breakfast was was good also. Our room was very clean and comfortable too! It was as shown in their pictures. Really enjoyed my stay here, thank you for having us!!
Cons: As with many ryokans, these establishments are quite often slightly older. This ryokan also provided a table tennis and other activity/equipment for those who want to do other things in the lobby floor but they were very old and worn that are in need of replacement m, this was the sole area that wasn’t looked after very well. Only noticed as there were younger teens in the group who used this facility. It didn’t bother my traveling group much as our main focus for coming here was the onsen but it is an area that can be improved :)
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The staff were all so nice! We loved our room. Non-smoking rooms are located in the top floor. The private outdoor onsens were lovely! Toiletries are located in the public bath. We loved the corn soup and flavored milks from the vending machines. We also loved dinner and breakfast, so delicious! The manager drove us to our bus stop the next day!
Cons: A bit difficult to get to and from Tokyo if you are not fluent in Japanese or if you’re not driving.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The staff greeted you with tea and snack the moment you walked in, check in was smooth, food was delicious, they have nice private baths during night time, and the manager even offered us a ride to the bus station.
Cons: There was nothing I did not like.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: I loved that there were 4 private bathes to choose from and a nice big one for boys or girls side. The food was amazing and the staff was helpful and kind. The view was also beautiful and they had fun games to use.
Cons: I wish the futons were a little thicker and cushiony, they were too hard.

Cons: Nothing, it was perfect
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Great location, situated in a beautiful part of town. We went for the Onsen experience. Yukatas were selected for each member of the family. Lovely attention to each family members needs as we took lots of pics in these well chosen robes. Breakfast was great quality Japanese traditional food. Would recommend book dinner at the Onsen or plan where you will eat. We were late for Onsen meal and options were few. Hungry family eventually fed.
7.1 Good
Cons: We miss the outdoor bath, it was under renovation. Reason for choosing this place because of the Travel Japan hour described about the outdoor onsen.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: 1. Good Onsen 2. Good Views 3. Good Food
Cons: No comment all I like
3.3 Mediocre
Pros: The staff are friendly and trying to provide good service. The music player in the room is pretty funny -- it plays different USEN channels and really odd stuff. The old man at the ramen restaurant is really sweet.
Cons: There was soiled toilet paper on the floor of the onsen bathroom. It's kind of far from the town center, and meant to be accessed by car, so if you're on foot, it's an awkward experience. I accidentally booked a western style room. It was really dated and the bed was uncomfortable. I had a view of the air conditioner and paid about $240 for this whole experience. They don't allow tattoos in the onsen, but you can pay 2000 yen to use a private onsen. The onsite ramen restaurant is expensive and pretty mediocre.

Cons: The futons were very hard, didn't sleep very well. Very minimal English was spoken but we were able to get by. Hotel was up on the hill so was a bit of a walk to get to Lawsons or Family Mart.

Pros: Upon arriving at the hotel, the staff were all very friendly and welcoming. Being out in a small town, we don't expect a lot of people to know English, but the staff made sure there was someone who could communicate with us, even if just a little bit. The dinner and breakfast were delicious, and the onsen was the perfect place to relax. The room was large, and the futons very comfortable. Even if this hotel is a little bit dated/older the friendly staff and their attention to detail make up for it. I would definitely stay here again and would recommenced it to my friends/family.

Cons: The room was large but could do better with a little more touch-up here and there. Overall, it is still a cozy room.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: convenience and cosy
Cons: the onsen water
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The location was great. All the main attractions were either within walking distance or the bus stop was just out the front. The outside of the hotel looked s little daunting as it is older however inside is great. The staff were extremely friendly and went out of their way to help and guide us as there were not a lot of English signs or guidance around.
Cons: There is an excess charge of 100 yen per person per day as bath tax that wasn't in the booking cost
4.2 Okay
Pros: Staff was knowledgeable about the area and nice.
Cons: Facilities are very old, property is extremely run down, room smells musky, location is not near the main stairway attractions.
9.0 Excellent
Pros: Affordable stay for budget traveller in this onsen town. English levels are varied but staff are polite and helped whenever travel assistance requested. Room and bedding were comfortable and clean. Daily service. Breakfast very good, generous rice serving. Not modern interior, facilities, but didn’t matter. Onsen was clean and sunrise views. Bus stop very close and 15min walk to town centre.
Cons: Minor: Wifi is only in lobby as stated.

Cons: The piped music in the hallway

Pros: The staff were very friendly.
Cons: The facility is very much run-down and needs a major renovation. The futon is a few inch thick sponge over hard tatami and I felt much pain after a few hours of sleep.
