Pros: Receptionist was excellent well mannered and polite.
Cons: The hotel itself smelt damp when you walked in, our bathroom stunk of cigarettes so bad that we had to ask the receptionist to get rid of it with a extractor machine The bed was clearly broken and even had a very sharp edge and I cut my knee on, it was the worst mattress I think we’ve ever slept on: won’t be going back to a days inn again.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Had an issue with noisy neighbours and they sorted it out straight away. Fantastic location
10.0 Excellent
Pros: I liked the fact it was dog friendly staff were very friendly and shops just outside plus very near to town centre
Cons: The bus stops where there’s no cut through or pavement so even though not far dangerous walk with luggage from bus stop to the hotel safer to get a taxi or drive
9.0 Excellent
Pros: Location perfect hotel clean and well presented
Cons: Cars in car park noise and people talking outside up stairs in hotel floor creaking
7.0 Good
Pros: Bed comfortable
Cons: Not enough loo roll and got a knock everyday even though paid for 5 nights in end

Cons: The 1st room was small and smelt , we asked if we could be moved and a young mixed race lady was very helpful and apologetic- the 2nd room was way better but not clean - massive cobwebs over windows and stains on bedding and curtains and just not clean - we put that down to the room not being prepped At short notice which is understandable - the breakfast on day 1 was nice and well cooked - on day 2 it was like it had all been deep fried - I asked for an extra hash brown and for that I got 1 less Sausages even thou wife asked for 2 Eggs and 2 hash browns- very odd Again the staff were really good On Friday night we’re advised my staff to fill out the breakfast request and leave it on door handle, we put it out at 21:30 On Friday night requesting an 08:45 breakfast , at 09:00 we looked out of door and request card was still on bedroom door handle

7.0 Good
Pros: The staff that were there were great and you could clearly see they were working hard despite the lack of finesse with the property in some regard. Sometimes they need to listen to food orders a bit more intently as both our food orders were incorrect in some way.
Cons: Slightly tired and not that full. Got the impression there was also a lack of staff or the hotel was either struggling to compete or was on the verge of going bust or perhaps recruitment was a problem?

Central location for the centre of Telford with a KFC and a Burger King right across the road and many other choices for food depending on what you fancy, despite all this room service is amazing.

Cons: The bed wasn't great but did the job.

Cons: The swimming pool was unavailable due to the monitor not working and had to travel to the Holiday Inn a mile and a half away to use theirs. the toilet was jammed between the bath and sink unit and the toilet roll holders were also occupying the space that you did have to sit on it, jabbing you in the ribs and making it easy to hit your elbow on.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Great location. Great rooms. Restaurant and bar good.
Cons: My card wasn't pre-authorised when I checked in to allow me to order at the bar or in the restaurant. Having ordered a drink I was told I had to go back to reception to arrange this.

Cons: The Asian woman that works at the hotel is very rude. She made my stay at the hotel not good. I wudnt go there again if she was working. She needs sacking. Horrible woman she is, iv been going to the hotel for a long time bt this was the first time iv met her. She is unprofessional and I think she only likes Jamaican men because she's nice to them

4.0 Okay
Pros: The staff were excellent very polite and courteous. It was clear they were very proud of their work. The gym was excellent too.
Cons: The room was very poor and tired. No fridge, no room safe. Storage was old and worn. Shower was worthy of Fawlty Towers either scolding or red hot! £165 a night a real rip off. Friends stayed at the Ramada and paid £55 a night including breakfast. Only other time I’ve had to give a bad review was with Crowne Plaza and I think that’s part of the same group.

Pros: Perfect Staff are just the best
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Went for Valentine's day/Night ver romantic dinner and excellent breakfast the next morning would highly recommend. And definitely will be staying at this location again as a weekend getaway.
7.5 Good
Pros: Great character. Nice bar and room had everything we needed for a comfortable night
Cons: We were in the anex which was absolutely freezing!! We were given an extra heater on asking but it was freezing when we arrived. Unfortunately we stated when the floods/storms arrived and the hotel reception flooded while we were in the bar. The poor night porter was left to deal with everything on his own and understandably was very stressed! He was fab and even told us about the history of the hotel and served us drinks between trying to stop the water entering the building! Thank you!
3.0 Mediocre
Pros: The lake.
Cons: Service; cleanliness and missing items in room.
1.0 Poor
Pros: The breakfast was quite good, But this was the only aspect of stay which was reasonable. This Hotel left much to be desired and there was an obvious lack of professional management with inexperienced staff left to sort out any problems of which there were several.
Cons: Staff who cared about the hotel, it`s overall cleanliness, and took a pride in their work. In the dining room 4 of the party we were with could not eat the food which they ordered as it was inedible, the remaining 6 guests complained of poor quality ingredients and slow service. It was so bad that the "chef" left that night for good. The hotel staff were generally lacking motivation, with an obvious couldn`t care less attitude. At the end of our stay, every guest all said that they would never return to this hotel again, it really was a poor experience.
1.0 Poor
Pros: Nothing.
Cons: Had to change rooms immediately on arrival as there was a pungent smell of open drains in the room. The decor and furniture in the second room was very tired and the mattress was too firm. Evening meal was inedible and expensive. The hotel is generally very tired in appearance and needs a thorough overhaul, not good value for money and most certainly would not recommend. Very disappointing experience!

7.9 Good
Pros: Owner was very accommodating despite our late arrival. We were well looked after
4.0 Okay
Cons: I arrived at the hotel at 3 pm. Check-in is from four but I had not realised, it was not clear that the hotel would be unmanned and locked up until 4 pm. It was raining very heavily and I (and my suitcase) got very wet trying to get in. I ended up waiting in my van with water dripping down my neck. Somebody eventually turned up at around 4:10. The telephone number that I had been given for the hotel did not work. The room was large and clean and nicely decorated with an ensuite. However the outside of the building is extremely dilapidated. There is a large carpark (at the rear) but no indication of that until you arrive at the front. The car park is not accessible from the front so had to drive up the road turn left and turn left again to get into it with no signage whatsoever. The room was quiet but had a few squeaky floorboards. The shower cubicle was incredibly small and very difficult to get the water temperature to a comfortable level. The bathroom mirror is very low and while standing I could only see up to my chest therefore having to kneel to shave. My stay was for two nights and both nights were fairly uncomfortable in what was a very poor quality bed. There was a kettle and coffee & tea. But only enough for one cup of coffee. However the kettle was totally empty with only water available from the bathroom tap which potentially is unsafe. While this is undoubtedly a budget hotel I came away feeling that I had not received good value for money.

Pros: The laws yin the morning for breakfast was a lobely and hospitable member of your staff
Cons: the door that lets you exit the hotel was too loud and at 530 till gone 730 was just hell on earth. I would suggest getting that fixed so that the people who leave the hotel at 530am do not wake the late finishers with a frightful bang countless times . I will not be staying here again because of that
Best Western Valley Hotel - Telford - Building
13
8.7 Excellent (927 reviews)
C$ 146+
Overview Reviews
Ah.Best Western Valley Hotel. A stunning retreat located in the breathtakingly beautiful World Heritage site of Ironbridge, just four miles from Telford. Words may not do the AA 3 star Georgian House justice, but when we tell you that the hotel overlooks the River Severn, is bordered by beautiful parkland, has 44 individual ensuite bedrooms, and full conference and banqueting facilities and lies within easy reach of museums and attractions that showcase this world famous area and its industrial heritage, the scene should be well and truly set! The 2 AA rosette awarded Chez Maw Restaurant offers a full á la carte menu with a selection of modern European cuisine, and offers views of the stunning valley (as does the adjoining bar area) to provide a unique and relaxing experience for all guests. Excellent service, award wining food in a fantastic location, make this hotel almost indescribable! Enjoy your stay.
9.0 Excellent
Pros: The hotel was well-positoned, near to the centre of Ironbridge, but just above the flood level, with beauticul views of the river. The room was fine - always warm- and could be converted into a connecting room if required. The food was exceptionally good, with dinner in the restaurant of a much higher fine dining standard than we had expected. The staff were always friendly and helpful, and never seemed to mind being summoned to serve, even if you were the only person in the bar, and they were elsewhere in the hotel. I would certainly ecommend the hotel and hope to return in the not-too-distant future.
Cons: The entrance steps were rather steep, but looked as if they were about to be repaired, so perhaps this will be changed to accommodate less able visitors.

4.0 Okay
Pros: The staff were great and Made an edgier with us in every way
Cons: The 1st room was small and smelt , we asked if we could be moved and a young mixed race lady was very helpful and apologetic- the 2nd room was way better but not clean - massive cobwebs over windows and stains on bedding and curtains and just not clean - we put that down to the room not being prepped At short notice which is understandable - the breakfast on day 1 was nice and well cooked - on day 2 it was like it had all been deep fried - I asked for an extra hash brown and for that I got 1 less Sausages even thou wife asked for 2 Eggs and 2 hash browns- very odd Again the staff were really good On Friday night we’re advised my staff to fill out the breakfast request and leave it on door handle, we put it out at 21:30 On Friday night requesting an 08:45 breakfast , at 09:00 we looked out of door and request card was still on bedroom door handle

Pros: The main hotel is beautiful, four poster suite is stunning, roomy and spacious and well kept with original features throughout.
Cons: Unfortunately due to COVID-19, there was no facilities open, I really do hope that they find a way to get through this terrible virus as the hotel is really worth a visit and stay.

7.0 Good
Pros: The staff that were there were great and you could clearly see they were working hard despite the lack of finesse with the property in some regard.
5.0 Okay
Pros: Breakfast was okay
Cons: Bed really uncomfortable, having to walk out of the main building to go to our room

Pros: Food was good and leisure centre although pool could have been a bit warmer .

2.0 Mediocre
Pros: Receptionist was excellent well mannered and polite.
Cons: The hotel itself smelt damp when you walked in, our bathroom stunk of cigarettes so bad that we had to ask the receptionist to get rid of it with a extractor machine The bed was clearly broken and even had a very sharp edge and I cut my knee on, it was the worst mattress I think we’ve ever slept on: won’t be going back to a days inn again.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Had an issue with noisy neighbours and they sorted it out straight away. Fantastic location
10.0 Excellent
