Hilton Garden Inn has INCOMPETENT, IRRESPONSIBLE management. Would not recommend, especially during this time when it is so easy to catch the virus from other guests. They did not check to see that their air vents are working, which put us (and other guests staying in other rooms, and their cleaning staff) at high risk. For the first 4 days we stayed there, we kept smelling smoke even though we were in a non-smoking section. After calling the front desk 2-3 times, thinking it was just someone smoking on our floor, and them saying they would check the problem, with no results, we shifted rooms on the 4th day. (The smoke smell was recurrent - one night it lasted the full night). We were confused, and the manager explained that each room is connected to a series of other rooms via the air vents. He tried to give the shitty explanation that no, each room is separated by their air vents, and the smoke smell we smelt was the dirty air from our bathroom. Does he think we are idiots to believe that? WE DON’T SMOKE, THAT’S WHY WE GOT A NON-SMOKING ROOM. This means we’ve likely been inhaling air from all the other rooms in the series, which is a big risk since any of the other guests might be carrying covid-19. We are VERY ANGRY at the incompetency of this hotel’s management, in not checking the air vents before making the room available. We are also very worried: if we get covid-19 in the next 14 days, it’s most probably on them. They tried to make it up to us by giving us a free breakfast today, but it hardly makes up for the fact that they put our health and the health of our family at risk. This is no time for the management to be careless. Will never recommend this hotel with incompetent management.
