Guests enjoy a seating area, satellite TV, and free landline telephone calls within Germany. International dishes and a selection of local German beers and wines are served in Bistro By George, directly opposite. Many cafés and restaurants are located here in the pedestrian area of Stolberg. Stolberg-Altstadt Train Station is 350 metres from the apartment. On-site parking is free, and Aachen is 12 km away.
Pros: location, turn down candy, washer and dyer in the unit, good pre-visit communication with owner.
Cons: noisy directly outside very late at night due to restaurant patrons, lack of bottom (fitted) sheet on one of the beds so had to sleep directly on the mattress.
Pros: Friendly owners Bistro with lovely atmosphere and pizzas! Character building
Cons: Fine for us but bathroom in the basement and there were steep stairs but all part of the character for us
Pros: A beautiful mediëval house with a great view on the Castle of Stolberg, this part of the city was marvelous, with Some snow (ealry May) at Night... and easy to let the kids play outside around the Castle. Great bistro in oppositie of the house By George...
Pros: The location was great and the restaurant right next door was a bonus. We had two apartments next to each other which worked well for our large group.
Cons: Instructions regarding accessing the apartment and where to park before we arrived would have been helpful as without our German friend we would have driven where we shouldnt and wouldn't have understood the parking rules.
Pros: Comfortable and relaxing. Brilliant for all occasions. Quite pleased I found this beautiful house to stay for the night. We were well looked after and the staff were very polite and helpful. The food from the By George restaurant was fantastic. Recommend to everyone. Please come and stay.
Cons: Nothing. It was all good.
Pros: A perfect place for an overnight stopover for our family of six. A good base to visit nearby Aachen. Fabulous location in Stolberg's attractive old town. Comfortable with a well-equipped kitchen. Charming restaurant on the terrace outside.
Pros: Cute property, very charming, all we needed for a night to stop.
Cons: Property is tall and narrow with bathroom in basement and bedrooms at the top ie quite a lot of steps to get down and up. This was fine for us but maybe wouldn’t suit everyone.
Pros: Very cool space right in the center of old Stolberg. Comfortable beds, well-equipped kitchen and easy walking distance to a huge grocery story, nice sights, etc. Wish we had had time to eat at the By George bistro, it looked amazing!
Cons: Heads up--the bathroom (which is beautifully renovated) is on basement level and so if you are sleeping in the loft, you have to climb down four very steep flights of stairs to use the facilities!
Pros: The apartment is quirky, see below! However, we have to say we were really impressed by the food in the restaurant of By George, for which reason a much higher score is given than it would have been otherwise. Our host asked if we would like to book a table, which we did and just as well as the restaurant was full, but despite the pressure on the chefs the meals the three of us had were delicious and quite reasonably priced.
Cons: The apartment we were in, the two bedroomed one, is on four levels, bathroom & kitchen on the bottom one, with a very narrow & steep staircase so not really suitable for those with mobility problems or the weak bladdered. But we old folk managed!
Cons: It was a little difficult for the old people to climb up stairs.
Located in Stolberg, Romantik Parkhotel am Hammerberg is in a rural location, within a 15-minute drive of Stolberg Castle and Aachener Zoo. Featured amenities include complimentary newspapers in the lobby, dry cleaning/laundry services, and luggage storage. Free self parking is available onsite.
Pros: Very good room en quiet. Nice balcon. Very good breakfast!!! The location in the nature is fantastic!!
Pros: Very comfortable stopover on the way to Bavaria
Cons: The shower door leaked
Pros: Breakfast was very good and it was lovely to be able to eat in the attractive garden area. The staff at breakfast were very friendly, polite and helpful
Cons: The hotel is quite tired looking and in need of an update
Pros: Good internet connection Very good breakfast Helpful friendly staff Comfortable room with balcony Minibar in room
Cons: Free outside parking has gravel on it and lies in a slope which can make parking tricky for a sports car.
Pros: Well-appointed bedroom. Comfortable bed with good quality bedlinen. Good breakfast
Cons: The only negative is that dinner is not served on most evenings. Of the two local restaurants, one is poor and the other rather expensive.
Pros: Good location, near Stolberg center; Breakfast was good; Room was spacious; Some servants were very friendly and helpful; There was a fitness room and sauna available (not visited so no review on equipment).
Cons: The bedroom and bathroom comfort and quality for a 4 star hotel was inadequate. We hired a standard 2p bedroom; The hotel feels outdated; The hotel 4 star rating expires at the end of 2019-04. No renewal was displayed at our time of visit (2nd week of 2019-04); Minor negatives: No restaurant, empty minibar, no free liquids (bottle of water costs € 3,00, no coffee nor tea at room - which should be standard for a 4 star rated hotel);
Pros: Location is nice
Cons: The hotel is overrated on booking.com. It is a 3 star hotel - it needs renovation in terms of carpets and doors. The shower was leaking and there is no ventilation in the room or ac. The church bells in the town starts chiming at 6:00 am and it can be loud on the side street.
Pros: Location, breakfast, overall comfort
Cons: All good
Pros: Very comfortable, quiet with nice grounds, good location, excellent breakfast with friendly and helpful staff.

Featured amenities include dry cleaning/laundry services, luggage storage, and a safe deposit box at the front desk. This hotel has 2 meeting rooms available for events. Free self parking is available onsite.
Pros: Nice location near the forest. Good service and very kind people. Good restaurant inside.
Pros: The staff was excellent, public facilities very nice.
Cons: Room and bathroom slightly outdated (shower knob was falling). When we checked in I wanted a bigger room and one was not available even so I understood the occupancy was close to 50%.
Located in Eschweiler, Hotel Landhaus is within a 15-minute drive of CHIO Stadium and RWTH Aachen University. Free self parking is available onsite.
Pros: The breakfast was excellent and the manageress very friendly.
Cons: The bed springs squeaked.
Pros: Staff were friendly and efficient.
Cons: There was nothing in particular to dislike
Pros: Very friendly and helpful owner. Location of the property was in a quiet neighborhood wit a few excellent restaurants close by. The room was good and clean. Sufficient parking on the premises. And a very fresh continental breakfast was available for € 6,50. Good wifi.
Cons: Interior was a bit outdated, but well maintained.
Cons: The front road rooms are noisy during the day
Pros: This was exactly what I expect for the price I paid. The room was clean and comfortable. I didn't see or need a lift so it wasn't a problem but there are rooms on the ground floor. Make sure you check if one is available before booking because the stairs are pretty steep with a bag.
Cons: It was a little difficult to find. My gps wasn't working so I had to rely on maps and the kindness of the local denizen for directions. One guy told me to turn near the "Bus" station. I did and that would have been fine if there hadn't been construction. From the main strasse, TURN BY THE BAHNHOF and go up a long hill the hotel will be on your left a little way up from the grocery store. If you find yourself by the fast food place (something about potatoes) you only have passed it by a smidgeon. Turn around and it's on the other side of the street. IT'S EASY ONCE YOU KNOW.
Pros: Breakfast was good (cold buffet), things were restocked quickly if they ran out and at €6.50 was very good value compared to what you normally get charged in hotels. Room was very spacious and comfortable, very clean, it wasn't the greatest room I have ever stayed in but I would say I have stayed in many worse 3 star hotels and I would happily stay there again. It was also very cheap!
Pros: Relaxing place with a great staff and comfortable rooms.
Pros: Nearness to a very good Brauerei. Very accommodating and friendly owner-substitute. beautifully maintained building in quiet suburban township
Cons: The impression I had on booking was that this was a traditional inn and I thought it would have a restaurant and a chance of a glass of beer after a long day driving. I should have been more careful when booking but we actually had a happy overnight stay due to the nearby Brauerei which the friendly staff directed us to (we would never have located it without help)
Pros: Petra was a hostess extraordinaire! Cheerful, helpful, and accommodating. Breakfast was beautiful and bountiful. Would love all our friends to experience this place!
Cons: Our stay was perfect!
Pros: Room was spacious and comfortable we had a back room so was quiet too the lady who runs the hotel was very friendly and helpful we didn't have breakfast could have at a little extra cost but the lady invited us in for a free coffee before we went the breakfast room was very nice bright and clean.
Cons: WiFi didn't work steep stairs to the upper rooms corridors dark and narrow

Pros: Our room was located 800m from the hotel. It was basically a full featured house, without a kitchen. Very quiet and comfortable. Great staff, welcoming and helpful. Nice breakfast. Very clean. We stayed there for three days and had a great time.
Cons: WiFi sometimes would fail...
Pros: have stayed previously food is wonderful German menu of excellent quality
Pros: The restaurant was great - really good food and a large menu card.
Cons: The hotel is situated in a domestic area, so do not expect a lot of shopping and/or night life..:o)) But fine for my purpose.
Pros: The hotel is located in the nice quiet area. It has a charming small garden with wonderful collection of fuchsias and other flowers. there is a free parking for guests. The restaurant is a popular place in the evening. The hostess is a very nice lady. In the rooms you get small complements like water and chocolate. Everything is clean.
Cons: In the room there is no air conditioner and no fridge or mini bar. The breakfast is rather usual. You can order the egg of your choice and you also have the selection of cheese, ham, bread, yoghurt. Mostly cold meal. Outside there was some music which sound like a concert far away, but the noise protection of the closed windows was not enough to sleep. Beds are rather hard, which is a matter of taste. No selection of pillows.
Pros: Great little hotel.
Cons: Decor a little dated but perfectly acceptable.
Pros: Has a large restaurant associated with the hotel, staff were pleasant, room was modest. Hearty food.
Cons: Only the younger staff members spoke English.

Cons: A bit noisy. We could hear banging doors.
Pros: The staff were fantastic when I had to ring the emergency number after midnight due to me being locked out of my room. The staff were friendly, quick to respond, and resolved the situation immediately. Thank you!
Pros: Duplex room with single beds on top floor
Cons: Breakfast a little basic but ok. Self check-in via machine a little stressful.

Cons: Room was small and bed was very narrow.

Pros: breakfast / convenient to restaurants /
Cons: When paying the bill I found the girl to be pushy and rude - also check out at 1100 is too early - no restaurant or food in evening and no air conditioning
Pros: Very good breakfast
Pros: Great location , great room and friendly staff! Well worth a visit! Fan was provided as unusually hot! Cannot fault hotel.
Pros: Absolutely everything, but the staff were the best, from front of house to cleaners in the morning to the staff at breakfast, amazing, thanks

Located in Stolberg, CityHotel Stolberg is within a 15-minute drive of Stolberg Castle and Golf Club Haus Kambach. Featured amenities include dry cleaning/laundry services and luggage storage. Free self parking is available onsite.
Pros: Helpful and accommodating staff, fridge in room
Cons: Dilapidated room with mould on walls and shabby broken furniture
Pros: Everything was perfect! Very good breakfast!
Pros: Breakfast was great: lot of cheese and 10+ type salami for carnivorous :) Picked up phone quickly and waited to make sure we are helped out at arrival Free parking in a minute walk distance
Cons: PIN received during booking did not open the door, but a quick phone call helped to get in. Their WIFI did not work so also could not use bank card to pay, must be temporary issue.
Pros: Breakfast was perfect British and continental. Everything one could wish for.
Pros: The building is in the centre and has spacious rooms. The elevators were in between floors so you need to carry your luggage up/down one stair. I arrived at 22:00 and the machines at the ground floor, provided the beer and snacks for celebrating the end of of a full day at a convenient price. Breakfast was very good.
Cons: My bed made noises when I turned from one side to another, but it seems that it was an isolated case. The other companions didn't have the issue
Cons: The staff The town The environment Not a typical German town
Pros: Great room, very clean. Free parking across the hotel. Awesome breakfast, great coffee. Beautiful location, close to the old city. Vending machine with cold drinks and snacks at reception. Friendly staff.

We arrived after working hours & over phone we got our key from the outside box without any trouble. Closed parking is 1 min walking, it is safe & free (need to get a ticket from the hotel before checking out). The hotel lady was really nice eith us & let us keep the car in the parking even after checking out that help us to walk around the city for few hours without the hastle of looking for a parking or pay for it. The breakfas was soooo good & fullfiling, we LOVED IT !!
Cons: There was a bit of wood smell in the room, but it is something that you can get used to it.
With a stay at Hotel-Restaurant St. Jobser Hof in Wuerselen, you'll be within a 10-minute drive of CHIO Stadium and RWTH Aachen University. The front desk is staffed during limited hours. Free self parking is available onsite.
Pros: Reading lamps: first time I've seen them in a hotel like this for a long time. The selection of dried fruit at breakfast was a nice addition. The horses in the field behind the hotel were quite friendly ;)
Cons: Some of the negative reviews made this out to be something like the worst hotel of all times. Something wrong with the way people seem to go out of their way to say bad things about places. It wasn't obvious from the info at registration that the breakfast cost a little extra.
Pros: Prívate parking and good breakfast.
Cons: Everything was correct and according to what was expected.
Cons: I think 70€ /night for a room without Light, fridge and with a share bathroom its a little bit expensive....
Pros: Breakfast was good and so was the staff , but I couldn't sleep at night due to constant banging of door from other rooms on the floor and common washroon throughout the night. There should have been some soundproofing to avoid that situation.
Cons: I couldn't sleep and the facilities did not worth 40 Euros it was more like a hostel than hotel
Pros: The handyman even helped me fix my bike, it was absolutely amazing and he probably saved my life! :)
Pros: Very friendly staff, spotless rooms and facilities. The breakfast is delicious. What more to wish for. I returned to sleep in this property.
Pros: Good localization, friendly owner who is looking after customers...
Pros: The beds were comfy but the pillows were flat. Room was very clean and really big! We loved the access to the balcony and the view of the horses was very relaxing.
Pros: Free parking. Clean compact room. Balcony (long common one) with chair to sit outside. Location close to Autobahn, but far enough not to hear traffic noise.
Cons: Very loud music from restaurant until midnight.
Located in Eschweiler, Porta Colonia Hotel is within a 15-minute drive of CHIO Stadium and RWTH Aachen University. The front desk is staffed during limited hours. A roundtrip airport shuttle is provided for a surcharge (available 24 hours), and free self parking is available onsite.
Pros: The fact that it is very close to train station was a big asset -of course if you mind the sound of trains I wouldn't recommend it; but we don't. Hotel is very convenient if you're going to use it for sleeping purposes only. I dont know about the staff but the only lady we saw at the reception was very kind
Cons: Room was very tight, it was difficult to move around when you're with 2 people.
Pros: OK breakfast. Good price
Cons: Beds were not comfortable
Pros: Nothing but the bathroom!
Cons: The building is right in front of the Train station! The picture of the place is from the inside. It is clean thats for sure, but they dont tell you its in front of the train station!!!!!! Do i have to say more!!!! Trains untill late night and freight trains are following after all night@ Small room - big enough for a broom room. No air conditioning! No breakfasts
Cons: Wifi is terrible.Sheet is terrible.
Pros: breakfast was ok but not outstanding. Suits the price. Owner is quick in answering questions and communication is well. Private parking is big plus
Cons: Room is really small!
Pros: Good location near train station.
Cons: Can't find anything.
Pros: Beds were comfy. Place was clean. Interior was modern but in a lovely old building. Handy to train station. Breakfast was very good. Staff were friendly.
Cons: Shared lounge was not available to use. Heater didn't work properly.
With a stay at Parkhotel Eschweiler in Eschweiler, you'll be within a 15-minute drive of CHIO Stadium and RWTH Aachen University. The front desk is staffed during limited hours. A roundtrip airport shuttle is provided for a surcharge (available 24 hours).
Cons: The property did not fulfil their previously agreed upon arrangement to checking us in. After several attempts of calling and several times being told someone will be at the hotel in 5 minutes, still no one arrived to let us in to our rooms. Really disappointed with service and would never recommend or try again.
Pros: Never had our room cleaned. Always had to ask for everything. There was never anybody around if you needed to ask a question. The date on the reception desk had not been changed for a long time giving the impression nobody cared. We called at the Great Western Hotel a permanent person on the reception desk, good morning can I help you!!!!!! Giving the impression somebody cared. Hi
Cons: Our room not being cleaned or our sheets not being changed for our entire stay.
Cons: No pillows sheets, no coffee available, and only one tower in the bathroom
Cons: personnel does not speak English
Pros: Vintage/historical building. Great staff & clean property.
Cons: Wifi on upper floors was terrible.
Cons: Owner was drunk at check-in
Pros: Breakfast was good enough and the breakfast room was cozy.
Cons: The room was quite dodgy, dark and I although clean it has seen it's best days. Bathroom definitely needs updating and the towels had a weird smell so they didn't feel clean and at least not fresh.
Pros: Close to the town and plenty of restaurants. Parking was available straight outside the front door. Breakfast was an extra charge but worth it
Cons: I found it strange that the staff tidied up my room while I was at breakfast even though I was only there one night
Located in Eschweiler, Hotel Schwan is within a 15-minute drive of CHIO Stadium and RWTH Aachen University. Free self parking is available onsite.
Pros: the view out of the window
Cons: Room smelled like cigarettes. No Toilette in the room. No light above the sink in the room (was broke). Dozens of mosquitos in the room. Price of 112 EUR per night was way too expensive for that kind of "lower-level-hostel-Hotel". Pictures on booking.com looked much better than reality.
Cons: Very basic
Pros: Good location for our requirements. Friendly staff, clean rooms and a good breakfast. Note that most rooms have shared toilets.
Cons: Confusion over booking. Reception could not understand why our papaerwork was in Sterling and was not sure if we had prepaid.
Cons: Staff, dirty rooms , no heating
Pros: Very comfy beds excellent in fact
Cons: Small room
Pros: I am sorry, I do not recommend. Only if its the last free hotel on area!
Cons: Nothing to like!
Cons: The site showing the hotel room etc were fraudulent. The place is an old broken down dump. I wouldn't expect my dog to stay there. The first thing I smelled coming up the stairs was cigarette smoke. There was no TV. Bathrooms were nasty, I refused to use it. We stayed the night as it was too late to book another hotel and all the other hotels in the town were full. I called IBIS and they got me a room in Aachen. I left the key on the front desk the next morning and we left. There was no concierge or person available to speak with. Generally nasty. When I got to my friends house in Dortmund coming from Aachen, they were horrified that I had chosen Eschweiler. Apparently it is a dump of a town. They were laughing and asking me what possessed me to choose Eschweiller. I showed them the pictures of the hotel which were actually pictures of rooms from the hotel down the street, not the Schwann. It looked nice online. SURPRISE!!!! NOT!!!
Cons: Bedrooms were looking very bad and the shared bathrooms extremely disgusting
Cons: Very low standard, one toilet on the floor, window that almost came off when opened. Very thin walls, could hear noises from all over the place.
