Pros: The hosts are absolutely lovely and made us feel very welcome. Also very helpful when we got a little lost! The room was beautifully decorated and we were very comfortable there. Can't fault the room!
Cons: On the first morning, I was woken at 7am by people talking loudly and doors closing loudly. I was shattered from driving several hundred miles the day before and was due to do the same again, so getting woken so early and being unable to get back to sleep wasn't great. Other than this though, I really can't fault the b&b and would still return!

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything was great. We arrived pretty close to the end of thr published check out, but were met and quickly shown to our room and registered for breakfast. We had a nice early meal and headed out. The property owner was fun to talk with and the sheep, horses and dogs were fun to hang out with. Sheets were very clean and smelled great. Overall great value for stopping through the area.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: We really enjoyed our stay in this place. Incredibly beautiful nature and super peaceful place to spend one or several nights there. A delicious homemade breakfast is included in the price and can be served in the morning with a wide range of options. Very cozy room, great view and convenient parking. We highly recommend visiting this place to anyone.
Cons: There is not really a place where you can walk near the house, only along the road. The hostess said payment did not pass, even though the confirmation was written in our mail and on the website, the hostess demanded to pay. I'm not sure if we had to pay twice or not and it's extremely inconvenient. This issue should be resolved with booking.com, not with the client.
10.0 Excellent

Pros: This B&B was in an old, converted farmhouse; so, the most appropriate description may be "rustic and charming". The Internet was very good, and the haggis was one of the best I had while in Scotland. The hosts were friendly and helpful. There are two well-behaved, friendly dogs that roam the yard and sometimes the common area of the house.

7.9 Good
Pros: Breakfast and location were both first rate
Cons: An earlier check in time would have been helpful in planning the arrival day
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Very good breakfast and the location was lovely
Cons: Food available in the evening would have been good even if you had to pre order as only small guest house But a long way to get food or a drive to a pub which isn’t advisable in Scotland

Cons: Nothing.

9.6 Excellent
Pros: Lovely B&B with the most friendly hosts. Room was clean and comfortable and the breakfast was really good, served in a room with glass windows everywhere so you good see into the garden where some cats and kittens were having breakfast to and playing around. Great place to start our Scotland trip!
9.2 Excellent
Pros: During my brief stay, I was surprised again and again, by unprecedented attentiveness of the proprietor. He went extra miles to make my evening after a day walking in drenching rain better, including offering drying my stuff, as well as booking and driving me back to town for a dinner in a restaurant. The estate itself is old, feels very authentic, and cozy.
Cons: Property is a bit off the road/town. If you're walking, that would add a 1.5KM just to get to it.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: The location was perfect for as we were attending a music festival near by . The host was very accommodating as We requested an early check in which wasn’t a problem. The twin room was huge with lovely views over the countryside . Great selection for breakfast .
Cons: Nothing
10.0 Excellent
Pros: It was great to have a room (the green room) with both a comfy reading chair and a desk (though it needs a light). The en-suite shower room was the best! New and with wonderful walk in shower. Catherine was warm and welcoming and serves an excellent cooked breakfast. Like everywhere, I had to replace the doona with a sheet and light blanket, which were promptly supplied. Easy onsite parking. My view was of the car park, but the bonus was sunlight. Location-wise? Short drive into Inverness or Black Isle. Beauly village nearby, rather sweet, with restaurants etc.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Lovely welcome. Excellent room.
Cons: Pillows were a bit hard. Duvet very warm for this time of year.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: The staff were friendly, and welcoming, the bedroom was spacious, and the beds were really comfortable, the bathroom was very clean, the breakfast was filling and delicious, it is a beautiful B&B, and the location is handy, for Inverness...
Cons: It's only a small niggle, we had just finished the nc500, and have been spoilt with some magnificent views from our accommodation, but we ended up with a industrial estate. The bathroom has automatic lights, and I can understand why they may be needed, to prevent guests wasting electricity, but of a night if somebody needs the loo, and you open the door the auto light, illuminates the whole bedroom
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Great place, clean, good service, good food, they were very nice!
Cons: Maybe a little expensive but a great place.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Family room is very spacious and in fact is a self-contained apartment with its own entrance, living / dining room and two bedrooms. Great for a family stay. Just 25 minutes of drive from Loch Ness and major tourist attractions.
2.9 Mediocre
Pros: The host was quite friendly.
Cons: The bedroom was very outdated, which would’ve been okay, if there hadn’t been a smell like in an home for elderly folks. In contrast the bathroom was quite new and modern, if of not that good quality, but here a bad smell too. Also not very clean. Like it hadn’t been cleaned properly, just covered up with strong (and disgusting) smelling cleaning products. If not for the wifi I needed to make use of, I would’ve left right after breakfast, which also wasn’t that good.

9.6 Excellent
Pros: The house was full of character and very charming, with antiques, books and paintings. The garden was magical and it was a pleasure to explore on a summer evening. The breakfast was excellent too.
Cons: It is not a dislike in any way of the Dower House but the local venues for good quality food were limited. The best place was 20 minutes away.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Gracious and lovely house with a long history; our hosts were welcoming but they also give guests their own space and time to be independent - and the breakfast was excellent. Great location - out of the bustle, in a quiet setting, but with good access to all we wanted to see in the area.
Cons: The shower was of its time! Not so easy to use.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: The Dower House is a charming house with a magnificent garden! The interior is beautiful, comfortable and cozy. Upon arrival we were greeted with a glass of whisky at the open fire. There are only very few rooms and therefor the atmosphere is calm and very personal. The breakfast was good and in-style, in a beautiful dining room with view on the garden...
Cons: For this location - a bit outside the village Muir of Ord - you will need a car. The walk from station was rather long and not comfortable (walking on the side of a busy road).

Pros: Absolutely lovely house in a lovely setting, homely and the odd bit of quirky diy did not detract from the overall ambience. Room was great size with spacious bathroom. Nice not to have TV actually. Short walk down the drive to the Glen Ord distillery where we had a tour and a wee dram (or two) then a peaceful stroll back. Dinner was very good. Will be back. Felt terrible when I looked at the bill later, I hadn't left anything for service as it was not included, the staff deserve it!

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Staff were great, place was very clean and tidy, food was good.
Cons: Everything was fine.
6.3 Good
Pros: Friendly staff, good food.
Cons: Paid for bed, breakfast and evening meal. Only discovered this meant £15 a head towards evening meal. Although the owner allowed some flexibility it did mean that a 3 course meal was out of reach. This made the very tired room with a dodgy shower, way overpriced at £120. The second most expensive B&B we’ve stayed in during our Lands End to John O’Groats.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: On arrival after a week of terrible hotels and no sleep I must admit I was worried to see the exterior looking a bit run down and only a few parking spaces but actually was pleasantly surprised. Yes inside it is low budget and dated with creaking floors but clean and large room with all you could need. The food was incredible as were the staff with customer service of the highest standards. My only problem was sleep only due to people leaving the pub with their friends beeping and shouting in cars and drunk so I would probably avoid for weekends or with work the next day but would stay again and will eat here now everytime we are that way or even drive out to it.
Cons: Noise but nothing can be done about that one. Having to go through the full bar to pay for my meal as couldn’t get near the card machine or hear the staff so maybe a pay after your meal at the table option would solve that but minor details for the price paid and come away with only positives really.
10.0 Excellent

Cons: Food was excellent
10.0 Excellent

With 20 en suite bedrooms all with their own unique character. Conference and event rooms to cater from 2 to 120 guests. Magnificent setting for weddings for the ceremony, meal and dancing into the night.
8.5 Excellent
Pros: Davidson Clan Link
Cons: Poor service at breakfast Not enough staff for Price Paid
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Loved our stay at the Castle. As this our ancestral castle, my maiden name is Davidson, and we celebrated my daughters 28th birthday in the castle it was a very special stay.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We loved our stay at Tulloch Castle. There is a free ghost tour each night of the castle teaching you the history of the castle. The dinner and breakfast were great. Our room and bathroom were huge! I loved the antique furniture and the comfortable 4 post wooden bed.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: This was exactly what we thought. We had booked this as a treat towards the end of our trip around Scotland and it did meet out expectation. The rooms are fabulous. There is the choice of eating in the fine dining area or in the bar. All staff were extremely friendly and helpful. We were even given a ghost tour of the castle with the history which was an added bonus. I would stay again in a heartbeat.
Cons: Cannot fault it.
7.9 Good
Pros: Great wee tour of a haunted castle
Cons: Some decor and lighting in poor repair
4.0 Okay
Pros: On arrival, we found that we had been upgraded to a room with a four-poster bed (but see below). The evening meal was excellent.
Cons: The heating in the room did not work. When we asked for some heaters, we were eventually told there were none available. After a couple of heated conversations, we were given another room but this should have been automatic when the heaters were not available. The breakfast menu offered kippers which I ordered, as I had not had during our week's stay. I was then told that they had run out!! A Scottish hotel, except a 'luxury' one, without kippers - A joke.
3.3 Mediocre
Pros: It was a historical castle, and the oak room itself was large and impressive.
Cons: Very badly managed place with unprofessional staff. The experience was bad from the booking. A staff member asked credit card details until booking.com intervened and told them this should never be asked -- it took several calls and emails from me to clarify what should have been known by them from the beginning. While we did expect moderately out-of-maintenance facilities, the basic hygiene in the room was appalling even for hostel standard. When we arrived, there were hairs in the sink and cotton buds on the floor, and the bin in the bathroom was filled (see the photos). The radiators in the room was not working for 2 days and the tiny portable radiator occasionally gave up working as well -- luckily it was warm enough and only got cold early in the morning. No wifi signal in the room, and the room was noisy. It took a few visits to find a staff at the reception at night (~10 pm) since they were at the bar and couldn't hear the ringing at the reception. All these took over £300 per night.
4.6 Okay
Pros: wee are both vegetarian so no sausages or bacon for breakfast as i said over the phone and email 2 weeks notice could not eat dinner i dont like mrooms so we went out i will not b back how can u charge for this ? £167.50p
Cons: u could have bought the items from Tesco /asda and more choice of vegetarian food for the evening was only 2
9.6 Excellent
Pros: My family Clan call this ‘home’ since 1309...so it was great to visit. The Davidson Suite was wonderful. The staff really helpful and friendly. Breakfast in our room a special treat. Very charming - not super sophisticated, but very special in its way.
Cons: Nothing of note.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Wonderful castle. Loved the ghost tour.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Loved the whole experience of a castle stay
Cons: little signage to identify Tulloch Castle

6.7 Good
Pros: The food served was excellent, evening meal and breakfast were equally delicious and good value. Plenty of free parking space around the hotel. A very comfy dinning area and friendly bar.
Cons: The hot water appeared to have all been used up when I arose at 7am and had to take a cold shower, or nothing at all. There was hot water the night before, and later in the morning, but NOT when I needed it! The bathroom was clean but the decoration was in an appalling state, unpainted wood, peeling paint along the window, unpainted paper behind the basin, it really was a surprise because everywhere else looked alright.
9.2 Excellent
Cons: The help from staff. The food was all great. Location was great to get to other featires we wantrf to visit.
6.3 Good
Pros: Atmosphere, friendly staff, breakfast
Cons: Lack of en-suite for our twin room
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The friendly staff even helping with luggage and a really nice meal when we arrived in the evening. Was a comfy bed.
Cons: Nothing
7.9 Good
Pros: We needed a late check-in and early check-out and that process worked very well. The room was clean and functional, and the staff were friendly. Breakfast was good.
Cons: We were a last minute booking and ended up with a non en-suite room - which wasn't ideal but it still worked. There was no hot water for a shower until 6.30am - but then I didn't think to ask about hot water the night before so maybe this could have been arranged.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Room clean and pleasant. Staff very helpful and friendly. Food was superb
Cons: Shared bathroom across two small hallways
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The restaurant was able to cater to my late arrival and missed breakfast in the morning.
6.3 Good
Pros: The heating in room was good. They have a nice bar and restaurant.
Cons: There was no hot water. Later the did turn on the boiler (only by my request) but it still didn't work so I gave up and took a cold shower (I was in a hurry). I've never saw someone in the reception, and even when you ring the bell, no one ever comes... Need to look after them... However, they are very nice, just don't know to do the work.
7.5 Good
Pros: Plenty of parking. Good breakfast. Decent evening meal. Quick internet connection.
Cons: The shared bathroom needs an upgrade. More tables in the bar area would be useful.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: The food was excellent, it more than compensated for the rather tired rooms
Cons: The heating was to hot

Cons: some rooms directly on the street
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Accessibility, cleanliness, spaciousness of room.
Cons: Being on a main road it was a little noisy at times although not such as would spoil our stay. The continental breakfast was a little sparse.
7.1 Good
Pros: The staff were friendly and helpful. The bed was comfortable and clean. A good place for a one night stay and moving on. The cold breakfast was good.
Cons: This hotel is tired. it reminded me of trips to Scotland 40 years ago. The bedroom furniture was dark and the windows too small. The bathroom floor was uneven. The nearest restaurtant was in Dingwall and there was no cooked breakfast
7.9 Good
Pros: Host was lovely couldn't do enough for you. The outside seating area at the back is a nice touch. Location to Ullapool is very good. Car parking. Room was big but in need of decoration.
Cons: Warm room, couldn't sleep with the window open as the hotel is on the main road and traffic was noisy. Bed wasn't the most comfortable either. Coffee tray could be doing with a dust...
6.0 Good
Pros: The room was adequate for our needs.
Cons: We were kept up at night by other guests on one of the two evenings. No sleep that night.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Very friendly welcome and relaxed atmosphere.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Kind and helpful manager. Did not have breakfast this trip as we had a breakfast meeting with family, but have dined here before and it was excellent. Extra pillows in wardrobe was a nice touch, as was hairdrier which was unexpected.
Cons: Bathroom floor got wet when husband was showering, probably his own fault not securing door properly.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The staff was the what makes the difference. Next to a great waterfall. Totally recommended
Cons: Next to the road but traffic noise was acceptable.
6.3 Good
Pros: The warm room and cosy beds.
Cons: The breakfast. Lack of hot water in the shower.
2.5 Mediocre
Pros: Not our type of hotel room size
Cons: Room 4 was a large room wheelchair accessible but bathroom was a disgrace mould growing all over shower toilet leaking every time it was flushed shower leaked over floor owners were away so they left someone else in charged doors were looked until 4pm and after a long journey was difficult with toilet we could use until 4pm and we arrived at 3pm Breakfast was a very poor basic continental of which we paid extra for for evening meal we had to travel to another town about 10 kms away which had very little choice of restaurants booked and paid for 2 nights but left after 1 nightdisgusted

3.3 Mediocre
Pros: Not going back ever again until massive changes happen
Cons: Over priced food ( macaroni cheese £8.25) small portions Showers no pressure/not hot Breakfasts are poor and are controlled by the coach times Stains on bedding Black mould on window sills Poor coffee Dirty carpets Value for money is not highland hotel Just booked into a 95 pound room in a hotel in thurso and first impressions are 100 times better.
6.7 Good
Pros: The hotel was built in 1911 and it had a lovely character and charm of that era. The room was adequate and clean. The breakfast was pretty good with a great choice. We had the bar food at night and it was OK.
Cons: My husband didn’t like the fact that the beer on tap was not Scottish, there is so much beer to choose from and they stock English and Irish beers, which was disappointing. It was a bit cold in the main sitting area which was a bit of a shame, however the central heating was on - just one of the drawbacks of an older property- don’t think there is anything they could do about it.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Well organised hotel
Cons: Lift small but it is a vintage building
7.9 Good
Pros: We had bar meals as what was on offer A laCarte did no suit us. The bar meals were adequate.
Cons: When we arrived for breakfast we were told that they didn't have a table for us and we would have to wait. 5 coach loads were in. If it wasn't for a couple offering to share there table we probably would have had to wait. We were paying guests not someone who came in from the street for a meal.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Location great, village scenic, staff fantastic.
Cons: Bathroom very dated, shower pressure poor. Beautiful old building in need of a facelift, seems dedicated to coach trippers.
6.7 Good
Pros: The location was awesome, breakfast was good and the ambiance was nice
Cons: The bed wasn't very comfortable for the sleep. It was kind of hard.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything was good Staff, Food, and the entertainment room a bit on the small side but clean and tidy
