Pros: We stayed overnight on the way up North. The gardens & animals are lovely. The pool was clean & beautiful & our room very comfortable & quiet. They packed us a breakfast for an early departure which we appreciated.
Cons: The sandwiches in our breakfast pack tasted of margarine & not very appetising. The other components good.
Pros: Great place to stay en route between the coast Gauteng
Cons: Needs maintenance. Everything in our bathroom was hanging loose and some fittings unusable. Many awkward stairs so the elderly and not so fit need to be aware.
Pros: Bed very good. Oasis in an arid place. Breakfast good. I liked the Springboks in the garden.
Cons: Shower was poor.
Pros: Rooms are large and grounds well maintained. Good beds. Quiet.
Cons: Not clean, staff incompetent, breakfast of poor quality, price too high. Wife Ok but requires constant re-login. The staff is not interested to ensure guests have a good stay. the toilet was not cleaned well. The reception was not friendly and one of the taff members had such a bed smell that we did not want to approach the reception. Prices are way too high for what is offered. I would suggest a downgrade to 3 stars unless they step up the service, cleaning and breakfast. Sorry for this but the feedback is the experience does not warrant anything else.
Pros: Lunch box.
Cons: The room had a plug with live wires exposed
Cons: Just great
Pros: Great breakfast - friendly and efficient staff, very clean
Pros: Big room in an quiet environment. Big green garden.
Cons: There was load shedding. The staff knew that at 10 pm the electrical power would be turned off for 2.5 hrs by the grid utility. No provision was made, e.g. handing out a lantern. I would have been in a pitch black room if I haven't have a torch. One light didn't work in the room. Internet was not available. A broken router I was told. The a/c was very noisy. The whole a/c unit was very shaky. I went 7 am to the breakfast room. I was helping myself at the buffet for fruits, muesli and yogurt, but there was no milk. At 7:15 my order was taken for coffee, eggs and bacon. At 7:25 my coffee was served and at 7:30 I was informing the waiter that I have to leave soon for the airport. He assured me that my eggs would be served now. At 7:40 I left without served eggs as I had to get a flight.

Pros: Nice Hotel with nice views over the river and close o the City and very good breakfast
Pros: Environmentally friendly e.g being able to reuse bedding and towel. Staff great. Food perfect. I don't have to go around looking for food.
Cons: Everything was great.
Pros: The service at all levels of my stay there
Pros: Reception poor Took a long time to check in and out Breakfast average
Cons: Service in restaurant was bad, I come in the restaurant none of the staff greet me, I had to call one of the waiter to place my drink order. I sit there for more than 20 minutes and still no service. None of the staff come to my table to ask if I was served, until I called one of the waiter to cancel my drink order. She did not seem to care as to why I'm cancelling my drink order, she said ok and left my table. If that is how Protea treat their client, then certainly is bad. My plans for evening was to have a nice meal at hotel but I ended up going to eat somewhere.
Pros: Very Friendly and helpful staff!

Cons: Entering the room from the outside during the icy winter
Pros: The shower was warm and the rest of the staff quite friendly
Cons: The twin room was prepared for one person despite the booking having been made for both my husband and 12yo son. The receptionist stopped speaking to him at the check-in desk to answer the phone after she rudely told him she couldn't find his booking although she was handed the confirmation email.
