Pros: Great location, walking distance to major attractions and shopping area. Receptionist was very helpful, providing map, ideas on what to see and where to eat, and organising transport.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: We didn't opt for breakfast so can't comment on that. It's a boutique hotel but a very high standard. Really big & comfie bed in room. When we arrived (on our camino) our bags had been put in our room already - such a simple but great touch! Hot tub on the roof is great (even in the rain in our case). Staff are lovely and location is good. Would return without doubt.
10.0 Excellent

The staff was great friendly professional helpful gave us lots of tips of places to visit, we spoke spanish I don’t know how good there English was.
Cons: The parking lot you have to be a very good driver, but the staff help every time we wanted to leave they accompany us to help although they didn’t take out the car they gave directions on how to turn etc

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Excellent position great staff car valet parked
Cons: Nothing
5.8 Okay
Pros: Nothing
Cons: I didn't like the receptionist. We were told in an email to park outside the hotel once we had arrived. Vigo is a massive city with one way systems and very heavy traffic. Having to remember driving on the right hand side is difficult too. So, we arrived, but because of the heavy traffic situation we couldn't park outside the hotel as instructed. I nipped in the hotel and asked the receptionist what we should do as my husband was virtually parked in the middle of the street with other road users getting angry. She went on to tell me to park outside the hotel. I told her that there was no room but she insisted there was and pointed her finger towards the road. I went outside again to explain to my husband, yet there was no way that he could park outside the hotel as other cars were parked there. I returned to the receptionist and asked if she could take a look for herself. She was angry and I could tell she didn't want to leave her place on the reception. She told my husband to park behind the hotel instead. Vigo is a massive city and just finding the back was a nightmare. We did it in the end and went back to the hotel where she handed us a ticket for the car park. Not knowing Vigo at all we asked for directions to said car park and she gave us directions which we didn't understand. Eventually we found the car park but all the instructions were in Spanish. Pressed a button to get help as other cars were behind us, yet again getting very impatient. Understandably. It was a nightmare but eventually some attendant came along and took the card. The gates opened and we parked up. After what seemed like a long time we were given the garage card back and then had to make our way back to the hotel with our heavy suitcases. The hotel was nice. We booked a superior double room which didn't really seem that much different from an ordinary double room but there we go.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Very welcoming staff. The hotel was well insulated against traffic noise. Excellent breakfast.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Breakfast could have been improved. Limited range. Location is excellent. Gym facilities are not up to expectations.

Pros: This was a good hotel, very conveniently located for both transport and all the cultural and other attractions Vigo has to offer. 7.9 Good
Pros: Three of us on top floor with 3 single beds. Not much room left but we were only staying for one night. Good shower, clean and good location.
9.0 Excellent
Pros: breakfast is next door, but access via hotel ; nice view from balcony, comfortable spacious room, kind staff
5.8 Okay
Cons: Room was booked for 3 people. after some problems in real life and an accident only 1 person went to stay. Sadly room was an atic... for 3 people it would be so uncomfortable (even for 1 wasn't the best as the person that stayed there mentioned). last bed was so close to the roof that if someone was above 1.50 he/she couldn't even stand. Also after a short mail conference i had with a certain employee it seems that being polite wasn't their strong suit but being ironic was. Speaking Greek has nothing to do with ID number and a valid ID. Also breakfast? not worth the money sadly. PS: all that is the opinion of the person that stayed in the room. i just had a fast glimpse of the room and the breakfast and i agree with the above.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Location location location plus very very clean. Highly recommend it.
Cons: I would have like stronger ac but i am spoiled. It was immaculate and location near historic district wonderful.

Cons: I liked all.
7.1 Good
Pros: Bed was very hard, uncomfortable. The Staff cleans well, but the hotel is old and near the sea, so a bit musty. Breakfast was fine, but an annoyance to pay for a second cup of coffee. The location is great for ferries to the islands, just steps away.

Occidental Vigo - Vigo - Bedroom
9
8.6 Excellent (1,922 reviews)
C$ 87+
Overview Reviews
The Occidental Vigo Hotel is located in the centre of this Galician city, which has a strong maritime tradition and a modern character. Strategically located on the Vía Norte, a stone’s throw from the centre, Corte Inglés department store and the city’s high street. The hotel has direct views over the estuary of Vigo, allowing the guest to discover the city through its main tourist attractions.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: The location, five minutes to a train station, is ideal for day trips to nearby cities. Only 15 minutes downhill to the ferryboats to the islands. This hotel is primarily a business person hotel (although we didn't see that many in a six night stay) with the typical high standards demanded, but I imagine it is a clone of every Barcelos hotel. It is nonetheless very comfortable with large rooms very comfy beds and proper lighting. The breakfast was good with a wide choice and good fresh fruit. However, if was exactly the same everyday.

9.0 Excellent
Pros: I, because of a problem with Renfe, arrived really late! For some reason the hotel used WhatsApp and contacted me with check in info if I were to be late. Numbers, codes via WhatsApp worked wonderfully - I checked in, woke up, checked out and everything was wonderful! How they did WhatsApp - I do not know but it worked!!!!!
Cons: Nothing
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Big clean room, comfortable bed, nice pillows, helpful clerk
Cons: WiFi was not great
9.2 Excellent
Pros: The location simply could not be better. Leave in one direction and you're on the main shopping thoroughfare on the other and you're in the old part of town, lively with lots of bars and restaurants to choose from. The hotel itself was clean, and comfortable and they also were able to meet our request to have adjacent rooms. Should we return to Vigo we will definitely see if we can stay here first.
Cons: Unfortunately, the property requires the use of at least some stairs, so may not be difficult for those with reduced mobility or heavy luggage. Not a criticism of the property - be warned that if navigating to the hotel by car, then select "Praza Porta do Sol" as the destination rather than the hotel directly as our "satnav" suggested a route through restricted areas with restricted access.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Location and recommendations for foodc

Pros: Very clean & good location. Value for money.
Cons: We find everything ideal. I don’t like the rain.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Service and location are very good. Parking place available across the street for a fixed daly rate of 13 euros (small car).
Cons: The rooms seem a bit overpriced for the actual hotel standard. For those who may care (not my case), only Spanish-language channels available on TV. A breakfast buffet at 15 euros is also overpriced for the region. The bathrooms need a revamp; in particular the bathtub. During the check out, I asked to have a pdf version of the invoice mailed to me: never received it.
9.6 Excellent
Cons: Parking was an issue
10.0 Excellent

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Nice staff, good food at fair prices. Parking easy on Friday. Next door to a huge supermarket (Alcampo, Spanish version of French Auchan),which made picnic and other shopping easy.
Cons: Only problem was a tight car park on Thursday as it is a hotel used for business travellers. Space eventually found, and we were a bit late. A small point: beware of a poorly sited door stop in the bathroom. We both suffered stubbed toes as it was just in front of invisible from the loo. Ouch!
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Very Clean, fast check in & out.
Cons: Staff from reception ignore you all the time unless you ask for anything. No "ola, bos dias" "ola boas noites". Remember, we are costumers until check out!

Cons: Extremely small room. Smallest bathroom with NO DOOR for shower cabin, VERY small space for toilet. I asked a quite room and I got one at second floor facing EXACTLY main road. NIGHTMARE entire night since Vigo is one of noisiest (maybe no.1) cities from Spain. It was a strong smell of chemicals (similar with diluent). I am sure that I will never come back. This time I was 'forced' to use since 'my favorite hotel' was full booked and I had no choice. At the end owner (I guess) apologized for noise but he could give me FROM BEGINNING a quite and bigger room on the other side of the hotel. Only one nice woman from reception speaks good English. The rest of staff...only Spanish

Pros: Have seen earlier reviews and have to say....this has got to be the best 2 star hotel on the planet. All modern and contemporary throughout, what you see is what you get. Location is a bit run down but within 5 minutes walk you are in the Bouzas with great tapas bars, cafes etc. 25 minute walk to great beaches at Samil. 25 minute walk to town centre and old town. Can’t praise Vigo enough, loved every minute.
Cons: Location rundown area but don’t get me wrong it’s safe etc
8.3 Excellent
Pros: The standard is very high here beds comfortable and shower and bathroom. Fabulous. Staff very helpful. Security good. Felt safe leaving bag to be collected. We walking the Camino so a bit off the path. Lovely to stay in a part of town and be the only tourist at local restaurant.
Cons: Bit out of town. Bus only 15 mins to city centre .no restaurant in hotel. Two bars nearby. Need to search around for nice restaurant.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: There was no breakfast facilities in hotel just a vending machine, which was a pity but there was a small café/bar across the road which did toast coffee and fresh orange juice for a few euro. Plenty of cafés up in this small area within walking distance. Lots of beaches if you want to walk or bus to them and once there they were really fab. We went mid September and stayed a week. Weather was changeable but we got a nice few days. Pontevedra was only 15 minutes on bus and Cangas is well worth a visit via ferry from Vigo port. 2 euro will get you there and has a beautiful beach. Plenty to do and see .
Cons: The hotel was modern and clean and in the Bouzas area but a good distance from Vigo city ,Not knowing bus routes we got taxis which worked out a little expensive. If you like walking you can walk to Vigo ,It take about a half hour Sami l beach is about 3 km walk from hotel and a bus is less than 2 euros and a fab beach. theres a lovely Maritime museum to visit also and a wonderful very reasonable museum restaurant behind it overlooking the beach with the best Tapas ever! Bouzas is an interesting place more residential and ordinary everyday living with very little English spoken. We did as the locals did .Restaurants and bars are typically Spanish and tapas with every drink or coffee which was lovely. At times we were the only 2 people in the restaurant ! If youre looking for shops Vigo has a wonderful shops and a lot cheaper than Ireland. If you want to shop leave plenty of room in your suitcase as you wont be disappointed! I would go back again but maybe with a little more knowledge of the area we stayed , Having done a week of the Camino I wanted to relax but any activity planned required walking taxis and buses, Next time I would stay more central and perhaps visit Bouzas instead of staying there

Cons: There is no lock in the door from inside the room. This is not safe for the guest.
2.6 Mediocre
Pros: Too much money for everything
Cons: No everything came with a price tag to much money
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Think I got upgraded, which was much appreciated. The breakfast was great and with Spanish notes (think eggs, eggs, meat and fruit). Used the spa and enjoyed the jade massage, which I highly recommend trying. Staff and service is good and the wine selections in a glass at the bar also good. The coffee in the room is welcome early mornings before the breakfast opens! Toiletries are very good as are the robes and flip flops.
Cons: Guests should be able to use the top floor spa facilities exclusively at times at no extra cost and the gym could be open more hours (I was here for work and would have liked to use it in the early morning).

Pros: The bar/breakfast room on the top floor was lovely, we really enjoyed starting the day there in the sunshine with a nice view over the water. Breakfast was good, the food was really fresh and the variety was good. The bed was comfortable. The hotel was in a great location, very close to the water and to the boat to Islas Cíes.
Cons: The double bed was a little bit on the small side (probably standard Spanish size).

Pros: Location: excellent, very close to the ferry to the Cies Islands and to old town. Several restaurants in the area. Excellent breakfast with no-dairy choices. We reserved a suite: comfortable and spacious. The staff was kind and helpful.

3.0 Mediocre
Pros: Family room had enough space. Nice location, very close the coast for a nice walk and if you will use the ferry. Also close to the central shopping area and seafood market. Breakfast was very good. Simple but good choice of local products.
Cons: The place was close to the bars around. Many drunk were too loud till dawn specially during Fridays and Saturday which you could hear from the room. Probably the hotel could improve the window insulation to lessen the noise from the outside.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Comfortable, clean and well located hotel. We wanted somewhere close to the Ilas Cies ferry terminal and this fitted the bill perfectly. Friendly and helpful staff. Nice bar on the roof top.
Cons: A very minor point- it felt more like a business hotel than a holiday hotel
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Superb
Cons: I would like more ecological products
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Good modern facilities. Rooms are a good size and well equip.
Cons: Aircon was a bit lethargic.
7.1 Good
Pros: staff was very helpful and location is great
Cons: there was a bad smell of cigarette smoke which affected all our sleep on one of the nights. We complained about this as it was unusual for a non smoking hotel. There appeared to be an underlying smell of smoke but only one night was particularly bad.

Pros: Very good breakfast, central location.
Cons: Small room, noisy airco.
7.9 Good
Pros: Great location, nice clean decor, friendly staff
Cons: Although modern, carpets are fading. Bed is comfortable but too short for me, I'm not that tall 1,85m. Breakfast is average.

Pros: The Breakfast was so good.
Cons: We had dinner one day, and the meat was not good.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Upgraded to a junior suite
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Fantastic room and views from the 9th floor. Balcony was fabulous surprise. Very good buffet breakfast
6.7 Good
Pros: The location was great and the room was clean .
Cons: I couldn't alter the air conditioning to below 21 degrees despite requesting a room with fully functioning air conditioning.. Also the receptionist didn't know the best location to begin the Camino walk. I would have thought this ahould have been easy for a local
7.9 Good
Pros: The location is excellent - very central and near both train stations. Rooms are small, but comfortable and clean.
Cons: Breakfast was a huge disappointment. Horrible coffee from a machine, broken toaster for the bread, eggs that had been sitting in a warmer for far too long and only one staff member on duty who does not collect your empty plates from your table. Only cleans up tables after people have left. We were there for 4 breakfasts and experienced that each day. Very disappointing. Also, there is nowhere to sit in your room and no bar or lounge to sit in either. They close and lock the door to the restaurant in between meals.
7.5 Good
Cons: Breakfast is poor. Coffee is terrible and pan with tomato a joke.
