Pros: Lovely location. Quiet and peaceful with an amazing building. Lovely warm reception by Guillaume and julien. The beds were tremendously comfortable and breakfast was delicious with plenty of homemade produce.
Cons: Would have benefitted from more pillows in the bedroom but this is a minor issue.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: What an AMAZING place!!! We loved this beautiful authentic castle, yet with very modern features and good taste of the owners. The suite is huge with two bedrooms and a TV room in the little tower of the castle!! Facilities are great with an amazing pool, beautiful woods around, nice parking hidden away. It is so quiet at night and we enjoyed the terrace outside. Breakfast is in a old beautiful room and delicious. The castle is situated 20 min from azay le rideau and also very close to Tours: both fabulous! The owners are young and extremely welcoming and I enjoyed the tour and history before check in. I would loooooovvve to come back and we could have stayed forever in this unique place. The history of the castle is fascinating. Merci!!
Cons: Really small details only in order to make this place even more perfect!!! - we were in the fabulous suite and at night there is an automatic light that turns on when people move, which means that when you go to the bathroom in the middle of the night you wake up completely! There could be a switch to stop it at night. - check out was at 10:30 which is very early especially as we were in one of the most expensive suite. - breakfast was fabulous except the orange juice, which could be fresh or not from concentrate juice. - I'm not sure it is a place where kids should be welcome as couples go to enjoy calm and live a romantic and unique experience.

Pros: This was our third visit to La Commanderie and I really hope we can go again. It is beautiful, peaceful and with a great pool. Thank you for looking after us so well.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The breakfast was excellent and the setting in the rooms was very pleasant. The facilities were very good in terms of an excellent swimming pool, well maintained, and the grounds were good to walk in. The Gite had an area outside where we could sit and eat with a table and chairs provided, and a kitchenette inside with all that was necessary provided. There was a town nearby where we could shop in the supermarket and also places to eat if required. The room was very comfortable and the WiFi worked OK.
Cons: We were very happy and pleased with our stay here.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Amazing place, incredible old castle but rooms are very well renovated and the people that run the place were extra helpful and very nice

Pros: We had an amazing stay at this hotel!! The hotel is situated beautiful with a lot of outdoor space, quiet and green. This makes it a perfect stay for relaxing, helped by the swimming pool and the terrace in front of the beautiful hotel. The hosts were very hospitable, helpful, friendly and kind; absolutely professionals. The rooms were comfortable and clean, and the breakfast was perfect! Will definitely come back once!

Cons: Nothing - all was fabulous

Pros: What a gem hidden away in it’s own valley. Our host, who is so enthusiastic about his chateau, made us feel entirely welcome, explaining the history and renovation work he’s undertaken. We had a great recommendation for dinner and enjoyed a superb breakfast. We’ll be back!

Pros: This was a gem of a hotel in a beautiful little town. The staff were so friendly and the breakfast was fabulous
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Property manager called on the day of arrival and offered to make dinner reservations. All staff was very polite, accommodating and eager to please. Excellent breakfast for a very reasonable price. Perfect location near the entrance to the Chateau, much closer than walking from the parking lot.
Cons: City parking is a bit tight, but it is a short walk to anywhere.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: The breakfast was excellent. The staff were very pleasant and helpful. The room was very good. I am not sure how suitable it would be for anybody disabled as there are a lot of steep stairs. Several restaurants within a very short distance. 2 mins to the chateau.
Cons: I received an email the day before I arrived to say that car access would not be possible after 2.00pm due to a street market. This could have been very inconvenient. However I was able to park in the chateau car park only 5 plus minutes from the hotel and received a good discount on the cost from the hotel.. It would have been difficult to pull a large case over the cobbles but not for a small case. I don't know how often there is a market.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Extremely friendly welcome from staff. Hotel really delightful and full of charm and character. Heavenly to have air con as we were staying in a heatwave. Would thoroughly recommend this hotel.
Cons: Nothing not to like.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The hotel has been renovated from an old horse changing station, where travelers would have changed horses or spent the night. We like that you can still imagine that past within the hotel; it isn't hidden and it adds charm and character. Everything was clean, the rooms seem to be named after Loire chateaux (we were in the Amboise room, which was beautiful), the staff were absolutely wonderful and very attentive. We had the breakfast buffet, which we thought was very good: ham, choice of cheeses, yogurt, fruit (fresh and dried), croissants and baguette as well as assorted pastries, hard boiled eggs, toast, coffee with warmed milk, juice...all plentiful and delicious. We would happily stay here again; it is a good base for exploring the area with lots of restaurants and shops nearby. Plus it is literally a 5 minute walk to the Azay-le-Rideau chateau, which is not to be missed. We felt welcomed and very comfortable here. Recommended!
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Generally excellent
Cons: The machine coffee and the receptionist didn’t know what an electric car charge point was - which was fine in the end but we were told they had one and had we really needed it - we would have been in BIG trouble. Everything else was faultless ... charming welcome good breakfast very comfortable beds - all very clean and pleasant.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Excellent hotel with convenient [paid] and secure parking. It was very hot [32 deg C] but the air conditioning kept us comfortable. It's a short walk to the lovely chateau and there are numerous restaurants and cafes nearby. There are some good independent shops too. I recommend the hotel and Azay-le-Rideau as a stop off on the way south or as a base for exploring the Loire chateaux.

Pros: Anita and Phillipe were wonderful hosts, made us very welcome and provided an excellent and most enjoyable breakfast with homemade preserves and yoghurt. The accommodation was unusual (a cave) but very comfortable and well appointed. A very quiet and peaceful setting with charming hosts !
Cons: Nothing really. It was better than we expected and with excellent hosts and comfortable accommodation and breakfast there was nothing to dislike !
10.0 Excellent
Pros: A unique place to stay, wonderfully comfortable, the host has thought of everything!
Cons: It would have been good to have been able to leave the windows ope: a grille, perhaps?
8.3 Excellent
Pros: The breakfast was fantastic, everything was home made and delicious. The hosts were very friendly.
Cons: Unfirtunately the room was rather damp.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Staying in a cave (Troglodyte) was a terrific experience! The owners were very friendly and we had no problem communicating even though they do not speak English and we don’t speak French.
Cons: Due to the fact you’re in a cave, it is cool and moist. The shower did not drain properly so the floor was wet after showering. There are lights in the ceiling that look like stars. I would have liked to be able to turn them off as it was hard going to sleep with them on.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: The family breakfast and the ceiling lit like stars

Cons: Disappointed that breakfast coffee was charged extra
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Owners were very friendly and helpful. Hard to get better than this.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: The hotelier could not have been more welcoming & helpful. Good breakfast buffet & delightful hostess. We were pleased with all aspects of our stay & heartily recommend this for an overnight or short break. Easy to park * 10 min walk to town centre
Cons: A longer stay!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Owner and his wife are excellent, could not do enough for us, breakfast was superb... Location short walk to old town, easy. Will definitely come back for a longer stay
Cons: Nothing... all excellent.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Excellent location with a pleasant walk over the bridge to Tours centre. We were upgraded from a standard to a superior room on the 1st floor . This was a great size with tea/coffee making facility and a large and modern shower room. The staff were incredibly welcoming, friendly, spoke English and were always smiling! Lovely people! The 9 euros for breakfast is well worth it - one of the best we've had in France with so much choice and including fresh fruit salad. We wouldn't hesitate to stay here again!
Cons: Window sill and top were dusty.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Great location and the owners couldn’t have been more welcoming
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Owners and staff excellent a noticeable difference to other hotels
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Lovely friendly place with its own car park. Exactly what you want after a long drive. Nice leg stretching 10 min walk across the bridge to town. Very quiet at night.
Cons: The electrics (couldn't have phone plugged in near to bed) and shower need a facelift. Have some powdered milk so that people can use the tea bags? Silly things really, and might just have been my room (28). I was very happy overall. Tours itself was too studenty for me though.
7.5 Good
Pros: Warm welcome from Pascal on arrival. He was very helpful and informative. The rooms were compact but comfortable. Very convenient location just over the river from the town. Parking with the hotel and fans in the room.
Cons: Tea making facilities were poor. The kettle didn’t work properly and the carton milk not very nice. Breakfast in the morning was adequate but not the best. Despite trying my best French I was responded to in English!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The location was fantastic, breakfast excellent, car park so easy to use and safe and the hosts couldn't have been more friendly or helpful.
Cons: Nothing
Hôtel Colbert Tours - Tours - Outdoors view
6
9.1 Excellent (186 reviews)
C$ 103+
Overview Reviews
With a stay at Hôtel Colbert Tours, you'll be centrally located in Tours, just a 4-minute walk from Tours Cathedral and 8 minutes by foot from Vinci International Convention Centre. The front desk is staffed during limited hours.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Location, plum in the middle of town in a pedestrian only street. Short term vehicular access for offloading no problem. All amenities and visitor attractions within easy walking distance. Rated 2-star but our room was more than adequate for a short stopover with interesting decor. No a/c but the room was cool enough even though hot outside. Breakfast pretty good for the price. The owner/manager very helpful. Parking in a nearby underground carpark (400m away) at a heavily subsidised price worked well.
Cons: Nothing really, however, on a practical note, probably not the most suitable for someone with a disability.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Great location
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Basic but very comfortable and secure. Personable owner who spoke excellent English. Good location on pedestrian street with many shops and restaurants.
Cons: No parking onsite, and nearby area is quite congested. For older guests, and those with limited mobility, the lack of an elevator could be a problem.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: I and my wife have been here during our Summer 2018 Normandy’s tour. The rate was fair considering the quality of the service. The location is really good in the real center of the town. When we get closer we have to drive through an almost pedestrian area (cars allowed at 20 maximum speed) The private parking is not available but this hotel has a agreement with a big parking lot nearby, thus no really problem for the car The room was really great: I loved it! Nice, big, clean and with a strong worthy. I would definitively suggest this place to any traveler going to Tours
Cons: One single problem: noise during the night. With closed windows no any problem (they can well isolate the room). But we have been here during August and the room was quite hot. During the night was needed to open the window (no air condition) unfortunately in this hotel is a very busy area with many bars, pubs, etc. It was so noisy with people talking, singing, and shouting till late night and also morning.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Hotel Colbert is a very nice hidden treasure as it is recently renovated. It had the perfect location, close to the popular bars and restaurants as well as shopping area. At a short distance of the Loire for a nice morning or evening walk. The owners were very friendly people and were flexible to keep our luggage until the afternoon in a separate storage room. Also the breakfast was good value for money. We'll come back!
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Cleanliness,breakfast,room and location
Cons: Not a big issue but underground parking is about 400m away but is free and easy to walk to hotel
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Very friendly and helpful personnel. Clean and cosy room, larger than we expected. Breakfast good compared to french standard !
9.6 Excellent
Pros: The hotel is in an excellent location for those who wish to be in the centre of Tours. The street has many varied and good restaurants along it and in was a short walk from the busy cafés of Place Plumereau. Even though we were on a tourist street, our room overlooked the garden so it was quiet at night. Overnight parking was available at 8euros50 per day a short walk away.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: The rooms were very modern and beautifully decorated. We even had USB outlets in the room, a very nice touch. The manager was friendly and helpful and spoke very good English. Breakfast in the garden was a pleasant experience. This family run hotel really takes good care of their guests. I could not have been happier.
Cons: Access to the garden in the evening wasn't allowed.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Very clean and pleasant accommodation. Really helpful owner. Great location.

Overview Reviews
Hôtel Ronsard is centrally located in Tours, a 4-minute walk from Musee du Compagnonnage and 5 minutes by foot from Tours Cathedral. Featured amenities include multilingual staff and luggage storage.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: The room was clean and had everything you'd expect. Nice breakfast with plenty choice. Good location in town, easier to get to than expected. The hotel receptionist directed us to the Rue Colbert (one block nearer the river) and said to turn right where we'd find plenty restaurants – true, but many were closed and the rest were almost all of Asian or other ethnic cuisines. It's better to turn LEFT on Rue Colbert and walk three or four blocks to the old town square where there were plenty cafes and restaurants and a lively atmosphere.
Cons: The room was small and the bed rather harder than we liked. Otherwise everything was fine
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The welcome from the staff, the location of the hotel and the breakfast was great.
Cons: There was nothing not to like about the lovely hotel.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The staff were very welcoming and helpful even though I was only staying one night for short hours with a very early train. The room was lovely, clean and comfortable.
Cons: Nothing really other than no kettle in the room but the very helpful staff member leant me one to use for a late cup of tea.
10.0 Excellent

Pros: Air conditioning when it was 40 degrees outside - a real godsend. Fabulous location in a beautiful town. Excellent breakfast delightfully served.
Cons: Parking is possible but a bit of a hassle

Cons: No parking available, would have been handy to do luggage but a city car park is not far away and at reduced rate (8.5 euro for 24 hours)

7.1 Good
Pros: In the heart of the city. Lot of restaurant and convenient store.
Cons: Should improve about cleanliness.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: So central! The staff were friendly & helpful.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: The location could not be matched with any hotel in Tours - it was right in the middle of the Historic City! A fine hotel; clean, pleasant and with very helpful and friendly staff. The only drawback were the stairs. When you book the hotel, you can go two ways --- the top floor is the best with medieval ceiling beams and a view of a 13th Century building across the street, BUT there are over 50 stairs to get to these rooms. So, ... the lower floors for those who may have trouble with stairs; the top floor for those who like daily exercise or who can handle the stairs.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: My Wife and I stayed here in July and I have to say the the hotel and the location was great the comfort of the hotel made the stay a very pleasant one. The hotel was very clean and comfortable, the breakfast was delicious and we had lots of helpful advice about the local sights.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Very quaint and lovely boutique hotel. Great breakfast, best coffee ever, delicious baguette and croissant. The family who runs is super nice and he speaks very good English. But he was so kind and patient, helping me with practicing my French.
Cons: None
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Owners were both very friendly. Check in process for doors at night was thoroughly explained and demonstrated. My room on the top floor was extremely quiet - slept well!
Cons: Request a room that’s not on the top floor if WiFi connection is critical for you. I used the lobby sometimes to send some emails.

Delicious food and very good service
Cons: Drinking water not available in the bedrooms. I was quite surprised that there wasn't any.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Really pleased, lovely hotel, the exterior looks a little austere but don't be put off. Location is perfect, right in the middle of town, 10 minute walk to the old town and lots of good restaurants, brasseries around. Parking was towards the rear of the hotel, we parked out front unloaded and then found our way around the one way system. Staff were lovey and recommended somewhere to eat as we din't fancy the hotel restaurant menu that evening. Breakfast was lovely. Room was large and spotlessly clean, felt like it had recently been upgraded. Spa facilities looked great although we didn't partake.

Very close to the train station, walking distance to city center (or rent a bike, the city is extremely bike friendly and the rental is close to the hotel). The room got cleaned every single day.

Pros: We arrived on our bicycles (we were cycling the Loire cycle route from Blois to Saumur)in a thunderstorm and both we and the bikes were made immediately welcome. There is no restaurant but the young man who greeted us offered to take us to a nearby restaurant and pick us up since it was pouring with rain and not cycling weather. In the end, we had cycled so far and eaten a sufficiently large lunch that we declined his very kind offer and opted for an early night. Our room was beautifully decorated and furnished with sufficient signs of use to make you feel as though you were visiting friends rather than staying in commercial accommodation. The bathroom was huge, with a well-sized bath and instant hot water; the view was amazing. The breakfast was ample, delicious and very fresh. It is served in the Orangery, which is delightful. We explored the estate in the morning and at no stage were we made to feel that we had to hurry to leave. Our only disappointment was that it wasn’t really swimming weather in the morning so we didn’t try the pool. But we’re intending to return as soon as we can. We also enjoyed the company of one of the cats who supervised our morning walk.
Cons: There is nothing to dislike but it’s worth bearing in mind that you will need to travel a mile or two for an evening meal. Obviously this is not an issue if you are travelling by car but other cyclists may want to eat prior to arriving - especially if the weather is dodgy.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Absolutely stunning house Amazing setting and views Lovely owner who gave us a warm welcome
Cons: NOTHING
6.7 Good
Pros: Beautiful place in lovely area of France.
Cons: When we arrived the hostess greeted us with oh you were lucky to get a room tonight as we have a wedding tomorrow! In other words we are too busy to be bothered with you! We didn't see anyone after initial meeting and did our own thing.
7.5 Good
Pros: Beautiful location, nice view, freindly staff.
Cons: The furniture is somewhat old and used, we would suggest a more thorough clean-up, and checking of accessories. For this price we expedted a bit more.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: All the rest. The room, the swimming pool, minimal bureaucracy, cleanliness, the setting
Cons: Breakfast was minimal.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: This is a beautiful property. It is out in the country a bit, 5 minutes out of Vouvray, 15-20 minutes out of Amboise. The hostess was very nice and personable. She showed us to our room, which was spacious for Europe. Breakfast was OK but nothing to write home about. No eggs or quiche or anything hot, but standard fare of coffee, bread and croissants, butter and jam. The entry was a bit difficult to find. Don't trust Google maps. It will direct you to an unused service entry.
4.6 Okay
Pros: Swimming pool a good size. Bathroom and bedroom clean.
Cons: Breakfast very poor and lacking imagination: rationed out on a tray, no choice, ultra-ordinary orange juice, one under-ripe piece of fruit per person, some bread, packet butter, jam, mini pastries (which we didn't want but were served anyway). Staff seemed disinterested in us, at both arrival and departure they asked who we were and no one ever asked if things were ok. We stayed during heatwave but no bottled water provided in room or anywhere else. Aircon in room was turned off centrally at night when it was really needed! Noise from an electric drill being used by swimming pool in mid-afternoon when we had hoped to relax there. Grounds did not live up to online photos, rather shabby. Some of the furniture and furnishings in room also had seen better days. Location on quite a busy road not conducive to walking to nearby villages.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Excellent location, beautiful building. Breakfast really good.
Cons: Some difficulty finding a restaurant in the area for an evening meal.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful spacious rooms with gorgeous views.
Cons: Pool was not open
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Best swimming pool I have ever had the pleasure to swim in. The room was excellent. Breakfast very nice.
Cons: WiFi connection seemed slow... but didn't need it for much so wasn't a concern for us.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Loved the relaxed environment, countryside of the Loire, beautiful old chateau that's been renovated and modernized but kept old world charm. We liked that it had a heated pool and lounge area. Breakfast was great and the owners were very sweet. Susanne made breakfast early for us on our day of departure. Locywas perfect for touring the châteaux and wineries of the Loire Valley.
Cons: There had been a wedding on Saturday and some of the party stayed over so when we arrived Sunday afternoon we couldn't use the pool area or terrace. It lasted way into the night.

Pros: The Bramha cave room was very different! Carved into the side of the hill (?), was cool and very pleasant to sleep in. The decor inside was very French. Dinner and breakfast was excellent. The host, Florence, is very friendly and went out of her way to make sure our stay was good. Will definitely return when we travel to France in the future.
Cons: Nothing.
7.9 Good
Pros: We were on a cycling holiday and were allowed to arrive a little earlier than normal. Also our hostess provided us with a simple evening meal at only a couple of hours notice as cycling into town after a day in the saddle wasn't appealing to us, especially as the property was up a hill.
Cons: The property is quite far from any restaurants which isn't great when on a bike. Also we hadn't appreciated it was uphill from the village.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Florence was friendly and went out of her way to make sure our stay was good. The evening meal was excellent and breakfast just as good. House was VERY French and we loved it, tucked away down the lane.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: The delicious evening meal served in a quiet shady corner. Perfect start to our holiday. The breakfast also lovely particularly the fruit compote
Cons: Unexpectedly my husband found the troglodyte bedroom triggered his asthma. We'd have loved more coffee at breakfast.
7.9 Good
Pros: Staff was great and very helpfull and the garden was lovely
Cons: The wifi was not working
8.8 Excellent

9.6 Excellent
Pros: Centre village location close to chateau.. Reasonable menu for dinner with local choices.
Cons: No-one in premises at night as it's over a shop. Phone no. given. Steep stairs then usntidy storeroom to walk thru to get to room. Parking is not close.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We broke our journey to La Rochelle I found the Epicerie Gourmande an ideal location. The village of Villandry is exceptionally nice and well served by the local amenities.
Cons: Nothing.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Centrally located is n the village and Close to Chateau Villandry.
3.3 Mediocre
Pros: The location is near the Chateau de Villandry and its adjacent church Saint-Etienne de Villandry. The building is of character, of approx. the 16th century.
Cons: A TOURIST-TRAP Arrival and check-in: We drove 300 miles to Villandry, and rang the proprietor two days before the arrival, after also leaving a message that we would be coming by car when I made the booking 4.5 months ago (!). I told her about the arrival time and she said that check-in is only possible between 15h and 18h.  There was very little understanding, just repeating the same tune that check-in finished at 18h, or 20h absolute maximum. When I suggested that I cancel and avoid this hassle, she told me that in that case, she would charge me the entirety of the room ('Ben, moi, je vais encaisser la chambre dans ce cas la')! In reality, I had until midnight that day I rang to cancel for half the price and NOT the total cost of the room. Unbelievable! She insisted that she would take for the totality of the room. In the end, I asked my friend, who was getting married the next day, to pick up the key. Breakfast: One glass of concentrated orange juice, one cup of tea OR coffee OR hot chocolate, one natural yoghurt, slices of bread and better, one croissant OR one slice of cake each. On the first morning, I told the owner I had read online the good reviews about the crepes she makes. One crepe each. I thought it was obvious then that we would be offered one the next day. No! Could we have a croissant then? No croissants. Maybe another slice of that cake from yesterday? No, no cake left. We had to BEG for food. No cereal. And you must choose what hot drink you want - there is no stall with food on it to choose from. We booked 4.5 months in time, and yet not enough food. Or is this the usual? The cheapest of food, and the absolute minimum. Shower/bath area: Be aware that the shower area in the suite is in the corner of the loft, right under the roof. It is NOT POSSIBLE TO STAND. So, you are like a baby having a bath. Parking: The 'public' parking available is, I suppose, that beside Saint Etienne de Villandry Church, or the castle car park.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Very unusual accommodation Two rooms plus a seating area in the attic.
Cons: A door on the bathroom rather than a thin curtain
7.1 Good
Pros: Old, Quirky, village property. Free on the road parking just outside. Comfy room & bed & we had a good night's sleep. Evening meal was fresh cooked local menu & was delicious. Breakfast was likewise. The owner was very helpful with where to visit locally & there was a tourist information office about 200 metres away. Local wines & beers available. Lovely Chateau 300metres away, but too many steps for us.
Cons: Stairs were very narrow & steep, but don't let that put you off.

8.0 Excellent
Pros: The property and location were very nice
Cons: The two double bed pushed together and the crease and gap it caused while trying to sleep. Not very comfortable.
7.5 Good
Pros: The garden and the restaurant
Cons: Hotel did not have our two suites ready on the day of our arrival and we had to cram into a family apartment that was inferior. Since we had a two night stay we were clearly disappointed.
9.0 Excellent
Pros: The staff was extra friendly.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Attractive building in lovely gardens.
Cons: Bit of a hike into centre (more than 1 mile) but ok once we had worked out the tram which stopped nearby.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Everything. Extreme sympathy of the staff, décoration, food and gardens.
Cons: Nothing. Everything was near to perfection. I would have preferred, though, to stay in a room of the main building, the château itself.
2.9 Mediocre
Cons: When we arrived our suite was about 30C. We immediately put the AC on but the central system did not have any air pressure so barely any cool air flowed out. When we asked the front desk for help the mocked us in French (I speak English with my husband but grew up in a French town and fully understood what they were saying). Instead of being honest about the quality of the AC system, the staff fiddle with the buttons (which we had already done only to find they were all disengaged) and told us it was fixed. We came back hours later only to find the temperature still above 27C. When we asked for a fan they promised one, but none came. When we called again they tried to tell us it was delivered and continued to laugh at our request between themselves in French whole insisting in English everything was fine. Even with the fan the room temperature never dropped below 25C. Other complaints include finding multiple large toenail clipping beside the bed and the pink mould all along the bottom of the bathroom curtain. Between that and the extreme heat (33C outside, 30-27C inside) I was thoroughly grossed out.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: The location, the staff and the beautiful garden surrounding the grounds
Cons: Some rooms have above average noise due to the location above the terrace and also the kitchen.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: The staffs are friendly and helpful. Nice breakfast.
9.1 Excellent
Pros: Nice park
Cons: Everything is good
7.5 Good
Pros: The Chef is of great calibre, but the staff require training and more staff is required.
Cons: Restaurant Service

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Close to town centre and very friendly staff
Cons: Shower wasn't good and needed repairing
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The petit-dejeuner was very good; the breakfast room was quiet with a choice to sit inside or outside. There was a variety of food to choose from, along with several beverages. The salon was also available for drinks. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The room was tastefully decorated and good sized. The hotel was close to down town, the tourist information center, and restaurants.
Cons: We had a room overlooking the street which had a great view, however, the street noise in the morning was very loud. The room had no air-conditioning and in order to keep relatively comfortable during the night, you had to have the windows open and were then susceptible to the street noise.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Awesome little find and right off the main road into Tours but away from the noise of the road and walking distance to the river and old town.
Cons: Plenty of parking but can be busy during the day. But you could move your car to a free bay in the late afternoon.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: This hotel is just a three block walk from the train station and city center. Just a few more minutes walking, is the historic old town. Restaurants, shops and groceries and very close by. The room pricing was a great value. The staff at Hotel Mirabeau was very friendly and always accommodating.
Cons: As expected, the rooms are small. This isn't a complaint, but should be mentioned for those folks who forget that European hotel rooms are usually smaller than in the USA. That said, we had plenty of space for our stay. We got a triple room (one twin bed and one double bed) for the two of us which allowed us to spread out a bit.
4.6 Okay
Pros: Cute old-fashioned hotel but wrote to them before arriving warning I had a person in a wheelchair but when we arrived realised there were 4 major stone steps to enter the front entrance! Reception said oh sorry didn't think it through! (she had just given us the groundfloor room for easy access to breakfast room!!!! ) She did offer us breakfast to make up for it.. Still was very awkward as chair too heavy to lift, so had to ask strangers to carry my child up the stairs! Luckily was a one night stay.
Cons: STAIRS at the front entrance. Room quite warm, one fan on a stand supplied. Tap in basin was missing its filter so water sprayed EVERYWHERE when you tried to wash your hands. Small shower room.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Yes
Cons: Breakfast could have been better .
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Lovely continental breakfast, very close to trains, trams and buses.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: The location is perfect, close enough to walk to the historic centre, but quiet position. Large room and lovely staircase. Staff are very friendly and reception is open all night.
Cons: We had a room next to the staircase and there was some noise from people coming up and down the stairs, and the bar was below our window and we could hear people's conversations.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Lovely big room and beds. Small bar available for quick drink. Staff had excellent english (much better than my french) and were happy to chat.
Cons: All good

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Such and amazing experience staying here. It so much fun staying in a castle with lovely furnishings and property for a great price
Cons: We wish the facilities on the property were open a bit later or earlier so we could have enjoyed them more
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Lovely place to stay. No restaurant at the property so we went into Vouvray for dinner which is about 5 minutes drive away. Staffers were very nice.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Straight out of Escape to the Chateau. An amazing struggle to restore a faded gem. TWO swimming pools, rambling corridors and rooms, a (continental) breakfast to die for. Genial hosts and staff and a superb location.
Cons: The signposts to the chateau are a bit thin on the ground. It is actually on the hill behind Vouvray and there are one or two signs in town and then none (that we saw) for about a mile. Once you get to the top of the hill it's easy. What is this current French fashion for no plugs in the hand basins? Do guests steal them? No fault of the chateau, but the Loire Valley is 'closed in August' so finding an evening meal is a challenge. All of the guests set off to find food and we all ended up cheek by jowl in the one restaurant that was open!
9.6 Excellent
Pros: The chateau is beautiful. Absolutely breathtaking! We were greeted with a warm welcome and were absolutely in awe of the size and beauty of the building. We received a glass of wine on arrival while we settled in; which was very welcome after a 5 1/2 hour drive from Calais! We had an amazing sleep after a walk around the grounds and spending some time with the animals below our window, then went for a swim in the morning in the most gorgeous pool! The only thing I could possibly fault about anything is the difficulty we had finding a place to eat locally. We drove for about 25 minutes to the town of Amboise and would highly recommend it! There is a cacophony of restaurants and sights. Well worth the drive. We will be back!!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: this was a dream come true. A real Castle life, room, bed, breakfast. Would return tomorrow if I could. Loved it. Such friendly people. We even met the owner. So warm welcome. Love LOVE loved it.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Extremely Charming Château
8.3 Excellent
Pros: This was a lovely quirky property. The kids loved the animals.
4.6 Okay
Pros: The chateau has potential to be lovely - the indoor pool is amazing but it stands out as the only really great feature!
Cons: Our ‘suite’ was a couple of rooms high up in the eaves, hot and stuffy even with the windows open all night, decor was shabby (but not chic) and bathrooms were very tired and shower didn’t work. Grubby rugs on the floor and 2 beds were rubbishy z-beds (we had booked for 4 adults) and the double bed was really uncomfortable. Furnishings were random and shabby. The whole place felt eerie and soulless and we were really glad to leave as soon as we woke. Very overpriced compared to other hotels in similar price range on this holiday. The chateau simply can’t sustain charging these rates until rooms are completely modernised.
4.2 Okay
Pros: The garden is really beautiful, so is the swimming pool. Staff was accommodating and helpful
Cons: The Château needs some serious update. All the rooms are accessed via a very steep narrow stairs. It is impossible to bring your suitcase up to your room. We booked a room for 4 persons and stayed for two nights. Never knew we will have to live in the attic, which is very uncomfortable in the hot summer. Furthermore, the wifi signal is very poor in the facility. Only get signal in the reception area, not in our room. I would not recommend this hotel.
