Ideally could have had tea, coffee, facilities in the room. But this is minor detail otherwise every aspect is wonderful.
We had a one night stay at the hotel on our way down to the South of France. The hotel was very easy to find and wasn't too far off our proposed route. The staff upon arrival were very welcoming, considering our level of French and their level of English, we managed very well. Our room was light, airy and very clean, which is all you can ask for.
The only down side, and it was a majorly down side, which having read a considerable amount of reviews before we booked wasn't even mentioned, was the noise of the high speed train, which wasn't many field away from the hotel...…………………...it felt like there was a train every minute, when in fact it was every half an hour!!!! Not much sleep was had during the night we stayed.
The restaurant. Aparently the women of thestaff didn't have her day. She forgot our order (maincourse). But instead of coming to our table, she looked at us without even coming to see what was the problem. I had to go inside, and her nice male co-worker ran to the kitchen to found out they forget. Without any excuse, our maincourse was served after 45 minutes. Food was not so good... After that we ordered a dessert, she dropped it on the floor by accident, and again without any excuse ran inside. So we cancelled the order. But apart from this incident the location of the hotel is perfect, and very pittoresk, and great for a one-night stay during travelling. But wouldnt recommend the restaurant.
It’s an excellent stop off point en route to the south of France and the position is excellent.
The only negative is the slightly limited breakfast menu, however it’s rural France so I guess that’s normal.
The name and description makes it sound like a country estate - it’s a motel with a decent restaurant set by a country highway. Good value and decent. Nothing special.
