More variety with food
We booked that place a few hours before we arrived and our arrival was around midnight. Communication was without problem. The place is very nice. We enjoyed breakfast on their terrasse with a nice view to Balaton lake.
I don't have any minus for this place.
It is a wellness hotel... Great swimming pool area, great breakfast, the only thing that went smooth was the final payment.
It is painfully average and pretty much any request / experience we had was followed by a fail from the hotel's side and disappointment from ours. Most of the images show the "4-star Superior" part of the hotel, but when you stay at "Zenit Hotel Vendégház", your experience is gonna be hardly a 3-star. I would say an excellent 2-star hotel. Read on if you want some details: 1. the reception is far from the main entrance to the hotel and there's just 1 sign to tell you that you have to go somewhere else. 2. the receptionist was extremely bored 3. the wine selection is about 3.7 average on Vivino and since the 3.9 rosé we actually had was really terrible, we decided to skip the wines. 4. the rooms are a bit worn out, especially the bathroom. Also not thought trough: no place to hang the bath robe, towels, etc. 5. the sauna area is more of a "swimming pool experience". Tiles everywhere, the place is not nice & intimate as a sauna should be. The one sauna I was looking for (a 95ºC Finnish sauna) was only 55ºC so I was disappointed. There are lockers but when you arrive, the wellness staff tells you you should have asked for the key at the reception. You won't be given any towels. 6. the dinner was painfully average, the draft Stella Artois was of a poor quality (compared to other places) so I had a bottled beer. The "tapas plate" we ordered was also very average and the restaurant closed at 10pm. 7. you have to pay €3.50 / day for parking. Why? 8. the 12.5% tips are included in the price whether they deserve it or not...
Very nice view on the lake, nice wellness area with teracce and bar
Bathroom in the room could be improved, missing hooks for towels or water presure too low.
