10.0 Excellent
Pros: The Onsen is incredible. Large, good rooms. Great view over the city. Many restaurants and bars in the area. Close to the station, harbor and walking trails. They served a free meal late in the evening.
Cons: The doors of one of the elevators made some scratching sounds when opening but this will likely soon be fixed.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Though a bit off center ..but very convenient and closed to many places of interest ... Ferry terminal, Noshappu Cape, Wakkanai Park , JR station, etc . Many choices of restaurants just right in front of hotel. As with the Dormy alike, I enjoyed the Soba supper.
Cons: Nothong seriously I don't like ..however, a minor point : I had a superb complimentary coffee and hot chocolate at Dormy Inn Abashiri, they use a newer machine .. ...so Wakkanai Dormy need to catch up
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Breakfast, Onsen & location is the best
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Hot Bath, free noodles
Cons: Dinner not available at hotel.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Close to Wakkanai Station. Some local sights nearby. I braved the Onsen and had a lovely soak after walking up the hill to look at monuments. If you haven't been in an Onsen before, make sure you take the big and the little towel from your room. Big towel is not allowed in the bath area and you use the little towel to dry off a bit before re-entering dressing room. Free Wi-Fi.
Cons: I am not used to a firm mattress. No bath in room. Shower pressure fluctuated.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: One of the main reason I chose Dormy Inn and her hotel chain in Japan is her delightful breakfast. At Wakkanai the breakfast is consider Premium quality with sashimi included. It is also that the local choose to come over during the weekend with their spouse and family to chill.
Cons: I found the bed slightly wear off. The rest of the facilities are fine. Repeated visit.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: good location, friendly staff, but the hotel really just serves as a transit point so maybe that is a negative for some
Cons: hotel parking, they don't have enough so we had to park in public parking which was close, but beware secure a parking before arriving
9.6 Excellent
Pros: The onsen was amazing, particularly the outdoor roof part in a mini Japanese garden. The room was large and comfortable. It's a 4 minute walk from the station.
Cons: The room layout was weird, with a large corridor in the room and 3 doors, which wastes a lot of space. The toilet had slightly less options than any other electronic toilet I've seen on this trip, and the sink was two doors away from it, next to the shower. Some buildings near it are pretty rusty.

9.6 Excellent
Pros: The staff were excellent and let us meet their dog. It was a lovely experience, and they were accommodating of our early check out time.
6.7 Good
Pros: Seaside location so very nice cool breeze during hot weather. Very nice staff members.
Cons: Wish the window in the room had a way to stay open, kept being blow closed by the seabreeze. The flyscreen does not have a lock on it. Building is a quite old, so kept hearing loud banging sounds all night from other guest closing their doors.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: The japanese breakfast was VERY nice and more diverse than usual.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Wonderful location directly on the beach, with clean rooms and the nicest host. Great view of the beach from our room and during breakfast.
7.9 Good
Pros: It is just right by the sea. And the Japanese style breakfast is great!
9.2 Excellent
Pros: The meals were elaborate Japanese feasts. Seems like everything came from the ocean—even at breakfast! Nice gender separate baths. Lovely to watch and listen to the ocean. Dog friendly—so several guests has pets.
Cons: I guess I have become used to futon—I wasn’t as happy on a twin bed. It felt like a well run business more than a family welcoming travelers. That’s fine!!
9.6 Excellent
Pros: The place is romantic n away from the crowd.
Cons: Wakkanai bus route is not so good and very expensive.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: This is the perfect relaxing pension. Located by the beach in separate area from the town. Staff very nice and kind, she's the only reception who communicate with us with her translator which I really appreciate. She made us understand this place more.
Cons: Take heavy luggage up by stairs

Pros: We really enjoyed staying at this traditional Japanese inn. Incredibly friendly owners were very helpful (even with our language differences). Dinner & breakfast were beyond expectations. And they gave us a ride to the ferry terminal.
Cons: We walked from the train station to their location but it was not easy to find.
7.5 Good
Pros: The dinner which was included was sumptuous with delicacies like crabs, scallop and urchins. The host do really ensured that the guests are well taken care of.
Cons: The location is quite a distance away from the train station and ferry terminal
7.1 Good
Pros: The bed was comfortable & the staff friendly. A spacious traditional Japanese room. Wakkanai Station is less than 20 minutes by foot.
Cons: I knew in advance that the staff only spoke Japanese and that it's only payments in cash. That being said, especially the latter is strange in these times. The room missed a water cooker and I didn't see any coffee or tea option elsewhere. All in all and compared to other places in Japan, the room was a little bit expensive. But since there are fewer options, it is understandable.
10.0 Excellent

Pros: An older super friendly couple is running the hotel. Their english is poor, but enough to feel accepted. The food is amazing for both breakfast and dinner. A wealth on seafood to taste with crab and specially prepared fish. The hotel is located a 15 min walk from the JR station, but is easy to find. The room was simple but cosy with a very good bed. Wifi in the room was very good.
Cons: Nothing specific to mention

Cons: The distance from the town. It is very convenient for JR minami Wakkana if you are taking the train south (just a short walk) but it was a good half hour walk into Wakkanai. There are a few restaurants around the hotel. It is amazing that the breakfast starts at 5am! However I was disappointed with the quality.
