7.1 Good
Pros: The location, property/rooms were stunning, very clean and modern. We stopped here one night on our way up from the east midlands to Glasgow, the owner was very welcoming when we first arrived and shown us to our room. A car is needed to travel anywhere but that wasnt a problem for us.
Cons: Food - stated a full English breakfast would be served in the morning. We went for breakfast at 8.30am and before we sat down the abrupt lady behind the counter said help your selfs here first then go sit down. Asked if we wanted tea/coffee ect and felt very rushed. She then said "Now its just a full English for breakfast" to which my partner said oh sorry is it ok if i could have no mushrooms or tomatos please and very sarcasticly got a reply of well what do you want then?! I felt the tension and i said he'll have just meat, toast, egg, no vegetables (typical man ay) When it arrived the 1 slice of toast you got each was cold, and my partner got 2 small slices of very over cooked bacon, a fried egg and 2 very small thin sausages. No hash browns, beans, nothing. I had just the standard breakfast and again mine, 2 rock hard bacon, 1 tiny sausage, an egg, 1 half grilled tomato and some mushroom which i didnt eat as i dont like them however felt too gulity to say after the way she acted earlier on when my partners asked for no mushrooms ect. Clearly our "Full English" has a different meaning down here than to up there. It was ok -

Pros: The property was beautiful - both the lodge itself and the landscape (pond, trees etc). Very quiet and picturesque location, and comfortable rooms with brilliant views. The restaurant wasn’t open for dinner during our stay, but the breakfast was excellent. I think we will both be back for personal stays.
Cons: No breakfast menu and one room didn’t have WiFi password.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful setting overlooking a lovely lake. The property was very pretty, clean, spacious and comfortable. The restaurant was superb and we can honestly say that we had the best meal we’ve ever had at any hotel.

Pros: Immaculate comfortable room. Warm, welcoming hosts and good breakfast.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Gorgeous room, lovely hosts and superb tasty breakfast
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Janice was very friendly, helpful and most pleasant. The location was a bit tricky to find, as our sat nav directed us to the wrong location initially. Fabulous farmhouse location, amazing immaculate rooms and furnishings - practically 'showroom' standard, even though it had been active for more than 4 years. Plenty of room for our vehicle - dog left in car, as there is a 'no pets' ruling, which is fair enough given the immaculate state of the property. Superb breakfast, with plenty of choice and beautifully cooked/presented. Janice provided much helpful advice on local attractions and was most attentive to our needs. All this and a very reasonable tariff - very highly recommended !!
Cons: The weather ....... seriously, it was excellent accommodation and to my mind faultless. I noted a previous visitor had scored it 12 out of 10 - just about sums it up as an accommodation experience.

Cons: Slightly over priced for not getting to use the facilities. Receptionist a bit grumpy
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Traditional style hotel and service, the sat afternoon have worked there for a long time and therefore care that the guests are being looked after. Very quiet location.

8.8 Excellent
Pros: Very near to the railway station.
Cons: There were no grab rails in the shower or slip mats.
4.0 Okay
Pros: Nice location friendly staff
Cons: We only stayed for one night but the place was like a construction site whilst work ongoing at the hotel spa which was causing chaos in the car park and my wife was kept awake for parts of the night by some form of construction compressor that kept switching off and on, which we reported to reception the next morning. Parts of the hotel are looking tired
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The room was a little tired and needed some TLC however it was more than adequate for our stay, The hotel is carrying out many capital improvements and the total project should make this hotel one of the best in the area. The quality of the food is superb and all the staff go out of their way to please. Having a quality GM does make a difference.
Cons: It is easy to blame someone when works are being carried out on the site but I must say other than the leisure facilities undergoing a makeover and not available the smile on staff faces made up for most things.
6.7 Good
Pros: Pleasant and helpful staff. Room good size and comfortable. Bathroom poorish but adequate. Breakfast excellent. Bar drinks and food good but not spectacular
Cons: Bathroom facilities, old tired and not so efficient . . .
4.0 Okay
Pros: Loved coming back to my home village and a hotel that I have been visiting for some 50 years! Have to say that the staff were totally excellent.

VERY noisy guests getting back at half one and shouting, swearing, slamming doors etc. Didn’t like the reception reaction when my husband mentioned this the next day. Loads of doors banging on the Sunday night also.....again underwhelmed by reception reaction

Cons: Free bottled water in the rooms
8.8 Excellent
Pros: The hotel and grounds are stunning. The staff are lovely and helpful. The rooms are beautiful, clean and well decorated. Our room (number 5) was spread across two floors of the tower connected by a stone spiral staircase, loved this layout. It was like living in a fairytale. Lovely surprise finding a social space for guests with a pool table, few board games and books about the hotel. Good selection of drinks at bar and not extortionate prices.
Cons: Huge gorgeous bathroom let down by a shower with little power and no heat. Vegetarian/vegan/gluten free/ other dietary requirements not clear on menus and also limited choice. We ended up going to a pub down the road with more options. £15 per person far too excessive for the bog standard breakfast received. Didn't sleep well as mattress was as soft as a marshmallow though that's more about preference.

Pros: Staff were very nice, friendly and welcoming. Food was good, atmosphere was good.
Cons: Very dated. Stayed for a wedding about 15 minutes from home but wish I'd stayed at home. Bar staff took my card from me to process a payment and used contact less (without me seeing how much I was charged) and then questioned why I wanted a receipt. Lingering looks from locals/regulars when you entered the room. It felt like as if the atmosphere was good because of the wedding. It was probably a very different place when quiet. It is a very small place, they used a paper based system for check-ins and my booking was nowhere to be found. The girl asked my name and then read 2 different names back to me! I wouldn't come back, nor recommend it.

9.0 Excellent
Pros: The Hotel was ideally situated in the centre of Silloth and was convenient for all the places I wished to visit.
Cons: I thought the parking would be difficult but in the end it worked out well but I suspect that in Summer Months it would be very difficult.
5.4 Okay
Pros: Rooms had been refurbished
Cons: Bed was so uncomfortable - lumpy and felt like I was going to be tipped out every time I turned about. Breakfast was very bad - felt like going into kitchen to teach chef how to make scrambled egg. It was like rubber.
5.8 Okay
Pros: Breakfast was reasonable to average. Location was perfect for me as I was there to play golf, which was less than 800 yards from hotel.
Cons: Service was poor evening meal priced reasonable but the quality was poor to average. Wifi was poor.
7.1 Good
Pros: The staff were polite, courteous and friendly. The room was lovely and clean. It was spacious and the beds were comfy. An additional heater in the room was great as it was cold when we got there, but room soon warmed up with the heater. Tea and coffee facilities in the room was good. We ate in the restaurant the night of our arrival and the food was ok, but no discount for residents. The breakfast next morning was excellent, lots of choice and the cooked option was superb with good portions and lovely hot food.
Cons: We would have appreciated a discount on our evening meal for residents and I would have preferred proper chops rather than the fries with the southern fried chicken.
