10.0 Excellent
Pros: The porridge was the tastiest I’ve had with plenty of fresh strawberries on top .
Cons: Nothing to fault at all.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Stayed tree nights and would highly recommend. Upon arrival, guests receive a warm welcome, a key to their room and a form to use for choosing a breakfast time and a selection from the menu. Resident owners, Dave and Leisa, have tastefully restored this home in a way that respects its history while providing modern conveniences. They are kind and conscientious in personally making sure the place is spotlessly maintained and that guests are comfortable. Breakfasts are tasty and beautifully presented in the dining room. The TV lounge room is a spacious, cozy and a lovely place to relax. Parking is ample. The dog of the house, Charlie, is small in stature and big on charm. Christian and Joan, Nanaimo, BC, Canada
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Just had the best time here - it was the end of our coast to coast walk and was everything we needed: warm, cosy, luxurious, friendly and relaxed hosts. All our needs were perfectly catered to from drying our wet clothes, to preparing the dining room for us to eat takeaway. The rooms were delightful with massive beds, plush carpets, warm towels and tea and coffee ready - a perfect cosy haven to relax in after several days walking in the full brunt of the Cumbrian weather!
Cons: Literally zero

Pros: The bathroom is amazing!!! The pictures don't do it justice! Could not fault anything about this stay! Hosts couldn't do enough for us! From giving us a lift into town, to making homemade flapjacks and bread! Restocked fridge daily. Excellent choice of food and drinks. Elaine and Terry were so accommodating and really made us feel welcome! Nothing was too much for them! Enjoyed it so much we stayed an extra night! Will definitely be coming back and will be sad to leave!
Cons: Absolutely nothing!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: It was our second time staying at Grovewood House and just like the first time everything was absolutely wonderful. The room is beautifully decorated and the bed was just heavenly. The bathroom is utterly luxurious with its spacious double whirlpool bath and seated steam shower. We would definitely love to stay many more times in the future.
Cons: Leaving.

Pros: Everything! The room was lovely with an amazing bathroom. Elaine really took care of us during our stay. Room was cleaned daily, fridge restocked. Elaine’s homemade bread and flapjacks are amazing
Cons: We loved everything.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Outstanding in every way. The bathroom was out of this world and was the best I've ever seen, including in 5 Star hotels. Immaculate and painstaking attention to detail. Self-service fridge is very well-stocked and supplemented by home-made bread and flapjacks. I can't wait to go back!
Cons: Nothing -everything was of the highest standard and exceeded my expectations.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Grovewood House, is like a little piece of Heaven. The owner "Elaine" is a true gem, she can not do enough for you. Her own cooked flapjack jack and bread is to die for, which is left in your room daily. The bedroom is out of this world, having the most comfiest bed in the world and having everything at hand you could possibly want. There is fridge in your room, this contains your breakfast with a variety of foods stored inside. This was perfect for us because it meant we wasn't having to stick with a timetable for breakfasts in the morning. You can just graze at will, perfect! Has the bedroom is exceptionally nice, the bathroom is in a league of its own! It is huge....the double shower with steam room and blue tooth speakers. It has two amazing the sinks, but the jacuzzi bath is to die for. I recommend night time baths to get the full benefits of the multi-coloured lights in the bath. I cannot say enough positive and amazing things about this guest house...other than book it and try!!. you will not be disappointed!

4.2 Okay
Pros: The only member of staff that was there having to do everything.
Cons: No chef to cook any meals/breakfast leading to very restricted menu. Owner not on site had to speak about issues over phone and she became argumentative leading to us to find alternative accommodation after a forced one night.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Top lady and an absolute gem of a place. If you are visiting the West Lakes area give the popular places a miss and book here. Such a tranquil room. The host is also a fabulous cook and we had the best evening meal I’ve tasted in a long time. There’s an honesty bar and s perfect garden to sit in with you glass of wine in the evening! Just book it before all the rooms have gone. We’ll definitely be back!

4.2 Okay
Cons: The owner was extremely rude, please people be careful. £260 for 2 nights, I payed £130 when I booked the hotel. Then on the morning of checking out the owner give me a bill for £260, so that’s £390, she was extremely rude and told me I didn’t understand the booking format. And insisted on payment of £390 instead of £260, had to get Barclaycard involved to resolve this matter, hotel looks better in the pics than it actually is. Would not stay again
7.1 Good
Pros: The gentleman who greeted us (head chef) was extremely welcoming and kind. The breakfast he prepared was divine and he helped us to the best of his ability. Thank you :)
Cons: One of the ladies who worked there did not believe that we had already prepaid, despite showing her the email confirmation and also the bank transaction. We understood that they did not want us to leave without paying, however she did not go about it in a good way as it seemed that she was accusing us of lying and wanted us to pay the room fee again. The rest of the visit was lovely, but unfortunately, we would not return to Littlebeck because of this lady’s attitude towards us. Also, the website boasted a private gardens and woodlands, which we were eager to explore, however when we asked one of the waiters about the woods he did not know what we were talking about and it seems that they do not exist.
6.7 Good
Pros: The host is very friendly and tried their best to accommodate and help.
Cons: No hot water in the first night. And second night the shower pressure is really low as other guests were using the shower at the same time. Ceiling height is really low, it’s a cottage I suppose.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Really homely feel

10.0 Excellent
Pros: As we had just taken delivery of a new Tesla, the fact that there was a destination charger that made me choose this hotel. Then, to discover the history and importance of this place, I was hooked. Even though we were only staying for one night the attention to comfort was so nice. Fresh milk in a flask was a lovely touch and the room more than lived up to our expectations. I was like living in a stately home. Window seats and a comfortable four poster bed just made me feel really special. When you stepped into the bathroom I was expecting a similar theme but wisely there was a rather super jacuzzi bath and modern loo so n chamber pots for us! The hosts were amazing and nothing was too much trouble. We will definitely visit again. Thank you.
Cons: Perhaps a slightly more slick dinner service but the chef was off and there were some unexpected dinner guests who had not booked so it was easy to forgive this - the food was worth the wait.

Pros: Great bed, very comfortable surrounding. Excellent location and the owner was so helpful and accommodating.
Cons: My only criticism is that the bath towels were very small. I don't really do the whole bath robe thing, so I would have prefered a large bath towel.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: I was warmly welcomed by the owners and felt very comfortable. Had a great night sleep all ready for work the next day. The building itself is beautiful and all work was done by the owners, which was something very special! The owners are great people with great surprises and care for their guests. Definitely, recommend this place and also will hopefully return soon.

Cons: Nothing.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: From arrival through to check-out we could not fault our stay. We received the friendliest welcome and both of the guesthouse owners went above and beyond our expectations. Bedroom was lovely and spacious, beds extremely comfortable and everything you could possibly need was right there. Breakfast was freshly prepared, with a vast selection of options. But of course the favourite of our trip was the use of the sauna, which was extremely relaxing and rewarding, especially since my partner and I climbed Scafell Pike earlier that day. Thank you for our stay! We will definitely be returning :)
Cons: Could not fault our stay in the slightest.

9.6 Excellent
Pros: Staff friendly and helpful.
Cons: Stairs I had to nogotiate with a large suitcase due to no lift access.
4.2 Okay
Pros: The staff are the most excellent one can ask for. They were very helpful under the circumstances. My view is that the owner has a great team working to avoid the ship from sinking. Every staff member we encountered was very helpful. I can only imagine what this team can accomplish with a clean and renovated hotel. We only had breakfast during our stay and I was impressed.
Cons: The hotel is tired and needs a complete redocaration. The caperts are dreadful and need to be replaced. The first room we were given was in the third floor, no lift, dingy, stuffy, and wallpaper coming off. The second room we were then offered had a chair so dirty you couldn't sit on it. However, this was later cleaned before we moved in. Again the room was stuffy although it was lighter and spacious. Luckily we had travelled with an air freshener and dettol spray which helped in taking care of the stuffiness. One of the residents would smoke by the door and had to repeatedly ask him to give us way to go in. The team also needs new bedding. Our bedding was clearly old as it had marks that showed they are aged.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: the first morning the Breakfast was a little over cocked for me but the rest of my stay was fine
Cons: I was a little surprised and disappointed that on the Saturday night no one said anything about a wedding party renting the Hotel consent room which just happened to be under my room, I can't hear the TV and had to go to the bar area which wasn't my plan for that night and if I had wanted to go to bed early there would have been no chance in sleeping because of the very loud sounds in my room coming from the band and music they had playing. they really should have prewarned people that this was happing. I am no kill joy in anyway but as a paying guessed I and others should have been informed
10.0 Excellent
