Cons: Nothing.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Welcoming staff, good quality food, spacious accommodation with outside communal area.
Cons: Naturally some road noise from the nearby A303 but did not stop us sleeping very well in comfortable beds.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Lovely bright clean room with a comfy bed. As soon as we saw the room we were delighted as it was one of the cheapest in the area too. It was basic but very clean. There were thoughtful touches such as lovely toiletries, a flannel, tissues and a nice lamp in the room which made the lighting cosy. I woke up in the morning and was so comfy and relaxed that I didn't want to get up! The bed was clean and fresh with none of the whiff of other people that some hotel beds hold on to. The breakfast, served in the restaurant, was lovely and the staff were all pleasant. We moved on after the one night and I spent the rest of our mini break wishing we could go back as the next rooms were nowhere near as pleasant.
Cons: The restaurant closed at 8.30pm which was quite early and a disappointment as we had to drive out for dinner after being on the road all day.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything perfect
Cons: Nothing
7.1 Good
Pros: I liked the fact that I didn't have to have the bog standard English breakfast..
Cons: I did not like the fact that full payment plus an extra £1 was taken from my credit card 3 days before I checked in and it clearly stated on the booking. Com website that NO PREPAYMENT REQUIRED. And then they still asked me to pay again when I checked out.. Also there was an old piece of soap in the tray in the shower..
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Hawk House is an ideal place to stop while travelling to the West Country, or touring around the local area. The on site Wayne's Bistro is good for an evening meal. The twin room (5) was upstairs and very spacious.
Cons: The rooms at the front of the property can get some traffic noise from the A303.

7.5 Good
Pros: Host was friendly enough and the property had the key things we were looking for - en-suite and parking.
Cons: As petty as it sounds the floor was super noisy and the walls very thin. We were woken several times by other guests, this included guests arriving back at 3am and the shower being used at 6am.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: I was delighted to find it was a bungalow, with ramps built-in where needed, because I can only walk a few paces and usually use a mobility scooter. I didn’t need the scooter in the end, because the area allocated to the four guest rooms and the bright sunny breakfast room were situated in one area, no stairs. Averil was a wonderful host, made me feel very welcome, and was more than happy to accommodate my odd sleeping hours and breakfast needs. She and Ian were very helpful with my luggage and my heavy scooter battery, and there was even a fridge available in the breakfast room for all my leftover food from a self-catering holiday I’d just had on the west coast. I stayed here to visit a nearby friend, before tackling the journey home to Kent. The room was clean and quiet, well-equipped, and larger than I expected for a single room. I would heartily recommend it to anyone. There’s even a cattery run by the owners, so if you booked early enough, you could bring kitty too! Lovely place :-)
10.0 Excellent

Pros: I have stayed before and was so much better. Sorry but new owners need to look at return-customers
Cons: Very good morning staff
10.0 Excellent
Pros: My elderly mother and her partner stayed at the Preston Hotel for for 2 nights in August and very happy with their stay. Hotel was very accommodating with early check in and also arranging a ground floor room on the second night due to difficulty with stairs/mobility issues. They said breakfast was excellent and staff were very welcoming and helpful! They would definitely again when visiting!
Cons: No issues.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Location, and the room was perfect for a family of four
7.9 Good
Pros: Meg was very friendly and helpful. The bar was comfortable and the bar food was freshly cooked at a good price.
Cons: The bed was very soft and the pillows too hard.
5.8 Okay
Pros: The breakfast meal was fine, staff friendly and helpful.
Cons: We didn't like the fact that the tables were not laid in the morning. Our room was right at the top of the house, very old fashioned and stuffy. Not like the photo on the website. Very disappointing.
5.8 Okay
Pros: Plentiful breakfast, but would only describe as OK Beds were comfortable. Staff were all very friendly, in particular the nice lady serving breakfast.
Cons: We can't speak for the rest of the hotel as we were in the annex, but rooms would be described at best as tired. In urgent need of refurbishment. We had however asked for ground floor if possible, as we had elderly parents with us. The hotel description made it sound quaint & the real ale bar was a let down. We had anticipated eating an evening meal there, but the menu was very basic indeed. It was also situated on a very busy road.

Pros: Very clean , tidy and light room.

Pros: Spotlessly clean room but very basic. A reasonable budget option, but the lack of an internet connection meant it was impossible to work, unless you're a tradesman.

Cons: Nothing really.
3.3 Mediocre

7.5 Good
Pros: Staff were friendly and helpful. Provided advice on local parking. Offered to help with baggage etc.
Cons: TV signal was poor and we gave up on it after half an hour or so. May have been a poor signal or damaged cable
7.9 Good
Pros: Room was clean, staff was nice and welcoming.
Cons: When we arrive outside was hot, so in the room was so difficult to sleep. Was no condition.
7.5 Good
Pros: Room 202 was good . Clean and comfortable
Cons: Do not stay in room 209 . There is a noisy restaurant and the staff from the kitchen make noise from 9pm until 2am the bed in room 2009 is very poor with springs sticking through needs replacing. The noise is not the fault of hotel. Last thing there is no hotel parking so its a pain finding somewhere to leave your car without having to pay a fortune . Best bet find a side street somewhere within a mile park there and walk to hotel

Cons: Almost-impossible-to-get-to car park! (In a different post code!) Clue: drive through the surgery’s parking area.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Staff were so welcoming and friendly. Nothing was too much trouble and made us feel very welcome. Was great value for our 1 night stay.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Staff cheerful and have positive attitude
4.6 Okay
Pros: Location is indeed central; Breakfast cooked by chef was good.
Cons: Incompetent staff who say one thing but don't fix things. So bad, I took a video or two. Dangerous bath tub in room 2 - screws stick out inside bath but handle missing. Light above bathroom basin doesn't work. Wall-fixed hairdryer out of order but given one. No bar of soap in my room but available in daughter's. Light above bed didn't work; told staff. Turns out it had wrong size bulb in it so no surprise it didn't work. I found out when I stood on the bed to see why the replacement narrow screw-in bulb wouldn't work. Staff told but didn't have suitable bulb available, so offered a camping lamp which I had to hold up in order to see to read at night (better than nothing!); Dim central room light but not prepared to read in the bathroom with better ceiling light. Kettle gritty inside. Needed proper clean not a rinse! Breakfast supposed to start at 7.30 but on day 1, had to ask for yogurts - no plain yogurt on offer, only fruity ones in their cartons. No 'morning pastries' available as advertised. Was concerned that having paid in advance, on arrival, the Terms & Conditions say hotel will use credit card info for extra billing they deem needed - but without discussion or negotiation. Daughter's room 1 had green glowing exit light on ceiling near bed which kept them from sleeping properly and top of 4 poster was so full of dust she wrote the date in it. Cot was provided on late request - with no mattress - however, so far, not charged for. The shower curtain had mould on the end of it. Our rooms were in adjacent building - T&Cs say to leave before 11am and at 09.50 I went to return camper lamp and hairdryer and found put hotel's front door locked. Had to rap in window to attract cleaner's attention to take in the lamp and hairdryer.
4.6 Okay
Pros: Very comfortable bed.
Cons: The overall pub & room was very grubby, dust cobwebs and stains, it's an old building but that doesn't mean it should be dirty. Also the room was too small for 2 people with cases .
7.9 Good
Pros: Location excellent, car park difficult to find but bar staff very good with direction to get to it. Breakfast freshly cooked to order.
Cons: Better directions to get to the car park as once you are in front of the hotel you have to drive round the block again to get to the car park at the back. Every floor board squeaked.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: The breakfast was good, cooked to order with fruit juice and good coffee. The location was good if the car park was a little difficult to find, and busy Easy to leave town the morning after. The room was very warm. The bar was large and the beer was good.
Cons: Not a lot really. The headroom in the bedroom was a little short for us, not that we are particularly tall.
3.0 Mediocre
Pros: Breakfast was fine.
Cons: Room not in the pub and up two floors. Dirty carpets. Bathroom from the1970's. Paid less in a neighbouring village for luxury flat.
