Pros: Everything ! Everything was excellent !
8.8 Excellent
Pros: The apartment was exceptionally nice & clean :-)
Cons: The windows had no curtains so it was daylight stops me resting during the day:-(
7.5 Good
Pros: Very nice hotel.
Cons: Front desk could have been more friendly and helpful. It was very hot in the rooms because of the warm weather outside. They needed to provide fans and lighter bedding.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Nice location and good food in restaurant
Cons: Slow service in restaurant
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything! Great service and the rooms are very clean and spacious. The staff is super friendly and attentive. The terrace is perfect to enjoy a cold beer after one of the many day trip options in the Black Forest. And make sure you eat at the restaurant, lots of local delicacies on the menu.
Cons: The only thing we missed was an outdoor play area for our son, but they do have a playroom downstairs for kids with lots of toys.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Staff were friendly and welcoming. This is a good place to start exploring the Black Forest. A spa hotel with a pool and an underground garage. We had dinner there and they catered very well for two vegetarians. Fresh ingredients and beautifully cooked. The breakfast was excellent also with a wide choice available. The hotel owner made guests individually welcome.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: The new wellness center, the Cocktail Bar and the restaurant are both great ! A great moment around the pool, enjoying the free drinks and fresh fruits, then relaxing at the cocktail bar for a great cocktail made right in front of you !
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything was excellent. Safe and secure parking. All the staff were very nice, special mention to the lady in the bar who was super skilled at cocktails and very friendly. Food was superb, well presented and great value. Couldn't really fault anything, we will be back.
Cons: Nothing at all. Some people may not like the breakfast and bar being in the building opposite, but it never bothered us.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: - Friendly staff - Very good breakfast - Superb wellness facilities, including an outside pool, a Finnish sauna and a steam sauna - Our room was very large (with balcony) - Spacious and modern bathroom, including a big shower
Cons: - A bit pricey - Location, location, location. The hotel is situated outside of town, about 20 minutes walk from town, a good 15 minutes to the train station. And then the city is not a hot spot to begin with... - We had a bed with two mattresses, although having booked a double bed. Not ideal when travelling as couple
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Very clean and very friendly employees.. i am sure that i will be back again. I was with my wife and 3year old child..

The scenic Kinzig Valley and the surrounding countryside of the Black Forest Nature Park are ideal for hiking, Nordic walking and cycling.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Our 2nd visit in 3 years, the hotel was beyond expectations as it had been extended since then. Newly appointed rooms with balcony, beautiful. Wednesday the restaurant is closed so we ate in Gengenbach itself but Thursday in the hotel was excellent. Quiet location & walks aplenty, we will be back.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Great location and hospitality of the stuff
7.1 Good
Pros: The location on a small hill and the surroundings are nice about 1/2 mile to downtown by foot the wine from the vineyard is delicious
Cons: the beds are pretty soft, should be more firm unfortunately at the time a part of the hotel was extended/refurbished, that made some parts unaccessible
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Lovely food and staff were very good.
Cons: Couldn’t use the balcony due to building work. Only a small complaint but it would have been nice to have been informed in advance of our stay.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything
Cons: Nothing
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Wonderful hotel. It is located just a short distance from the old town, which is only a pleasant 15 min stroll away. We stayed in a balcony room in the new extention. This building is architecturally stunning. The rooms are finished to a high standard and very comfortable. We have also stayed in the older part of the hotel and that room was also very comfortable. The food in the restaurant is excellent, both in quality and presentation. Excellent breakfast. We will definitely return to this hotel.
Cons: This is not a negative, just an observation. We arrived on a motorcycle in extreme heat, high 30s. This may have added to our problem, but our room was quite warm, and we could not cool down. The owners kindly gave us a fan to use which helped, but at night, it was just circulating warm air. This lead to uncomfortable nights in a comfortable room! Just a comment for all hotels we have stayed in. If the extreme temperatures we experienced are to become more frequent in the coming years, then if air conditioning is not an option, solutions need to be found to minimise the heat absorbed by rooms during the hotter days.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: We have stayed here numerous times and every time continue to be impressed with the service and food. Also a beautiful location!
Cons: Construction is ongoing on a new wingoc the hotel. It didn’t bother us, but we did not know in advance and that might bother some.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Beautifully appointed rooms in the new hotel, delicious breakfast and delightful staff, all communicating very capably in English. Fabulous local delicacies available in the restaurant for dinner, complemented beautifully with wines from their own winery.
7.9 Good
Pros: We stayed in the new part of the hotel, so everything in our room was new. Comfortable beds. Good working Wifi. Friendly staff and servants. The hotel is located just outside of the village, so is was quiet and calm. The historical center of the village is at walking distance (10-15 min). There was a rich breakfast with enough variety. Diner at the restaurant was also good, and their own made wines are delicious. Prices of the minibar were very exceptable.
Cons: The part of the hotel we stayed was new but some things are not completely ready yet. We were located at the back of the hotel and our balcony view was very dissapointing. In front and to the left it was only sand (no plants or pavement), a felled tree just lying there and the back of an old shabby shed. And to the right we looked straight into the kitchen... The front rooms had a much nicer view towards the hill and village. Same rate, so somewhat unfair. Reception bit difficult to find at first arrival, some sign might help. The satellite TV had no channels programmed. There's no airconditioning, so the room gets hot during summer days. We also missed the facility to make coffee or tea in the room.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: I found this Hotel back in the previous Owner/Families time back around 1986. Much to the amazement of the local Burghers (it's not that easy to find) - who regard it (still) as their personal relaxation spot. I've been back several times with Family, and occasionally just with my wife - so I'm biased. It's hidden in the Mitteler Schwarzwald and is a genuine gem. The new(ish) owner is also making his own wines which are excellent and cheaply priced - even in the evening resturant. They're also expanding the Hotel significantly, so I'm not the only one who likes it.

9.2 Excellent
Pros: Hotel was confortable and clean. Spacious room. Good Breakfast. Welcoming receptionist Off street Parking. Less than 5 minutes to center of village. Village very pretty and worth a short visit. Would stay again at this hotel
Cons: After checking in at 16:00, receptionist left and no other staff available on premises to assist. We would have liked a kettle but no one available to ask.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Liked the proximity to the lovely village & ability to walk to everything.

Pros: good price for a decent room and breakfast. confortable bed.
Cons: the hotel was bigger than expected, a bit dated and quite old-fashioned, but that was what they were going for I gather.
9.0 Excellent
Pros: Really great hotel and food. Also great, big swimming pool.
Cons: In some areas a renovation would be appreciated. If the water temp in the pool would be 2 degrees higher, then it would fully match the requirements on a hotel pool.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Good breakfast, lovely staff, sauna included!
Cons: WiFi only available for 1 device per room
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The food is amazing in the restaurant. Fresh and great quality. The staff really helpful. We will be coming back again.

Cons: No free parking
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Awesome location in an historic building. The breakfast was great plenty of various food in traditional German fashion. The staff was really helpful.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Room was small but very tidy and very efficient layout. Unfortunately I could hear the neighbors and creaks from the floor above once in a while, but it wasn’t often and I don’t mind. The bed, pillow and blanket were very comfortable. There were bowls in the room for food and water for my dog, very thoughtful and greatly appreciated. Location was perfect and parking garage right across the street for a low price.
Cons: A fan in the room would’ve been very useful for summer time.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Clean new rooms
Cons: No airconditioning or fan

Centrally located: only a few minutes walk to lovely old town and to the railway station. Good base to explore the Black Forest and the hotel supplies a free train/bus for travel throughout the entire region.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Dinner at restaurant was amazing.
Cons: Parking
7.9 Good
Pros: Very personalized attention. Breakfast adequate. Dinner menu can have better options for vegetarians.
Cons: Room number 9 where I stayed bed is on height, bit risky for senior citizens. Did not get hot water on 2 days but the owner was responsive.

Pros: Great location. 2 mins walk to a fantastic town centre.
Cons: Stairs to climb with suitcases. Not recommended for your senior persons if they have problems with carrying or going up stairs.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: A very up to standard hotel with a magnificent location. The staff was excellent as well as all the services. The cleanliness was unremarkable also. Great place, I recommend it to the full !!!
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Large room with balcony. Very clean hotel and staff first class. Great facilities, pool etc. Lovely bar and restaurant and great sitting area outside. Ample parking space. The walk to town was quite easy across the river bridge.
Cons: Only the pillows but not the end of the world!
9.6 Excellent
Pros: The room was nice and had plenty of space. It was also sparkling clean. The location was perfect with a short walk into the town. The big bonus was that the room had air conditioning which was great.
Cons: I found no faults with the hotel.
6.7 Good
Pros: The breakfast buffet was amazing!! Although the juice could be fresh, it didn't even bother me too much because everything else was amazing!!
Cons: The sofa in the room was the hardest piece of furniture I have ever sat on. We were on the 1st floor and there was the worst smell outside in the hallway (kind of like sweat). Also, the pool said it was 28.5°C but I'm pretty sure that was colder since the air in the room felt warmer than the water. The steam bath was also waaay too hot. I had just been at a spa with steam baths the day before, so that was not was I expected.
5.8 Okay
Pros: The pool the town nearby and breakfast
Cons: All rooms look into a car park no view . All very quiet and bedrooms very big but everything lack any Black Forest character . Big rooms and hallways all clean to the point of sterile. Just a stopover come and go
7.5 Good
Pros: This hotel was a short walk from the center of Gegenbach and everything was well kept. the breakfast was also generous and of good quality.
Cons: The staff was polite but they did not go out of their way at all to help you nor explain anything about the area nor the hotel itself. I had to look up on my own all of the information about the area as well as the time table for the breakfast, wifi information as well as that the spa / pool area actually existed. They simply gave me my key with no information whatsoever.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: The staff was really nice and helpful. The room was big and beds were comfortable. The parking lot was excellent. The swimming pool was very enjoyable. The location was excellent, very close to the central part of the town.
Cons: The breakfast was good, but was not excellent. I missed some natural juices and fruits salads. The check-in time until 10pm was not ideal for us, who had to do a long trip to arrive there. The saunas were not always working.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Lovely hotel and staff , Great evening meal
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Neighborhood
Cons: Price. A little bit expensive.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Very large clean and comfortable rooms, plenty of parking, friendly staff and a short walk to the centre of the town. No complaints.

There are a bowling alley but we could not use it as the locals use it exclusively it seems. Not reccomended for small kids, theres a busy road right next to the building which are not shown on photos.
